I went to Palm Court Brasserie for a lunch with my friends.
The food was very delicious. I loved the interiors and decors. This place has a very friendly staff.
You guys should definitely visit this restaurant.
My sister and I along with my sister's friend decided on havingg lunch here after going through the menu and clarifying whether some of the dishes (vegetarian and seafood) did not contain/ were not cooked in alcohol.
The interior was beautiful. The servers were very friendly and passed by with a smile on their faces.
I ordered the Pan Fried Tiger Prawns and Homemade Lemonade; my sister had the Farfelle Pasta with Orange Juice; her friend ordered Half Char-Grilled Chicken with Homemade Lemonade and a bread basket.
The black olive tapenade that came with the bread basket was delicous. I could have eaten that all by myself. The mains came together at the same time. My Tiger Prawns arrived in a small flat pot and looked lovely. However, it was a messy job removing the tails and head, and for this, they provided a finger bowl. The garlic butter sauce that the prawns were cooked had a very overwhemling taste after a while. All in all, it was a decent dish. I enjoyed my sister's pasta plate more in comparison to mine.
Cath found this place and it was one of the nice offers out on the websites. I think it was 20quid per head including drinks. Very nice food, good service, a bit cramped but very nice :)
One of my favourite go-to places for lunch, when I actually have time, is a restaurant called Palm Court Brasserie. They serve classic French food (my favourite) of very, very, very reasonable value.
Palm Court Brasserie located in convenient Covent Garden and unmissable from the decorative exterior. Although the front seems small and cosy, to my surprise, the inside manage to sit up to 150 according to Toptable so it’s pretty big. The inside screams:
We are all creatures of habit but, as my blogging buddies will tell you, it can become a little frustrating; we want our blogs to show a diverse range of cuisine and that means we can't always order our fall back favourites. However, sometimes the classics are the best and often this means good old-fashioned French cooking. The Palm Court Brasserie is a Covent Garden stalwart which is open from midday to midnight seven days week.
When dining en-Francaise I like to start with a glass of champagne...
....who am I kidding, I always like to start with a glass of champagne!!
The interior of the brasserie replicates an elegant French cafe
Complete with art-nouveau design, bistro chairs, vintage posters and...
....a large bronze champagne bucket.
Mr S chose a French onion soup, warm, comforting and thick with cheese.
Smoked salmon...ok I know I'm boring but I didn't I say the classics were always the best?
We couldn't resist a third starter and we shared a pan of prawns with a buttery sauce and touch of chilli heat.
I chose one of my favourites, a Nicoise Salad, to transport me out of Covent Garden and into the sunny Cote d'Azur. Well ok not quite... it was a lovely salad, despite a slight overload of raw onion.
Mr S veered away from our French theme but went for another classic, the British Roast.
And he soon went to work on his piled up plate.
And not quite done ready for one more classic?
The traditional trio of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream!
As I walked through Covent Garden trying to find a nice quiet space to sulk after my failed attempt to celebrate the Chinese New Year, I spotted the Palm Court Brasserie just off of the Piazza. How could this Florida girl not venture inside this tropical paradise to enjoy some liquid sunshine and French cuisine?
While I have to say, the “palm tree” in the entrance was a nice touch, it was actually the reasonably priced Sunday lunch options that reeled me in.
I immediately loved the beautiful 1920’s art nouveau atmosphere in this Parisian-style brasserie and appreciated the array of tables I could choose from at 2:30 in the afternoon.
The waiter quickly brought me a glass of Rioja Tempranillo and guided me through the menu. For £13.95, I could have a starter and main course. I chose the Smoked and Confit Salmon Roulade with Horseradish Crème Fraiche. When I asked his recommendation for the main course, his eyes ignited as he indicated the Wild Mushroom Risotto with Truffle Oil and Shaved Parmesan was unbeatable.
My first course was fabulous, but I have to admit, nothing compares to truffle oil. The entrée was mind blowing. Although, sometimes I think you could pour truffle oil on anything and still come out holding Michelin stars!
About half way through my meal, I heard the two girls seated next to me giggle excitedly as their afternoon tea sandwiches and sweets hit their table. What a carbalicious delight!
I regret I didn’t try the Cocktail of the Day, the St Germain Royale, but it sure is an excellent reason to return.
Sunny friends, if you’re in the Covent Garden area, do a truffle shuffle on over to the Palm Court Brasserie for an afternoon tea or other tasty delight. I’m sure you’ll be just as pleased as me. Or even better, let me know when you’re going and I’ll meet you for a St Germain Royale!
The food and service was excellent. The calamari starter was probably the best calamari we've had so far. The restaurant is ideally placed for activities around Covent Garden. The ambiance is pleasingly retro. The staff are friendly and helpful. The risotto was outstanding as were all the other dishes. Love the creme Bruegel even though personally, it was a little over-sweet and would taste a lot better if the sugar were reduced a little. Can highly recommend !
Beautiful dining experience. Had a reservation for 10:15pm for a birthday celebration and it was an amazing experience. They gave us a complimentary desert with a card signed from all the staff. That was a really nice gesture. Food was fresh and tasty. I’d definitely come back and recommend this place. Also in a great shopping area. It would probably be amazing for lunch or early dinner
We picked this restaurant randomly on a trip to Covent Garden and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We came for lunch so we had their set lunch menu. It's very well priced, especially for central London. I had the brie to start followed by the mushroom risotto and then the creme brulee. My partner had the chicken liver parfait, the grilled chicken and the creme brulee. All the food was delicious but the star was the mushroom risotto which I would cheerfully say is the best risotto I've had and my partner said the same, he definitely has food envy! The wine list is also very good. We had a very nice French chardonnay. The service was impeccable especially as they were busy. Can not fault this restaurant!
This restaurant never disappoints. Food and service were impeccable as always , really enjoy the ambience here. Special thank you to Valentine who was beyond attentive and kind during our meal. Always smiling and we enjoyed chatting to you about travels. Thank you for making our evening so special and for the surprise card for my Dad. It was a touching moment for us all ❤️
We came for a pre theatre dinner. Classic, hearty and comforting French food. Great service, friendly and welcoming. It was a friend's birthday and she received a birthday card signed by all the staff and a free dessert. Really nice touch.
Menu has lots of choice. Lovely tasty food, good friendly service . Centrally located with a nice atmosphere. Inside and outside dining. There is a theatre menu that is worth thinking about.
An excellent location right by covent garden and 3 minutes from the Royal Opera house.
It has an outdoor and indoor section ao great for all weathers.
The food is Ok, i had seafood linguine and the challenge was that it was very buttery. So much hidden carba in this. Would be better with a lighter calirie sauce and still have the taste.
The service was ok, there was little delays as the restaurant was very full but when the service came it was very friendly and efficient.
The creme brule dessert was very enjoyable
Superb meal. Booked for 7pm arrived early, no problem we were given choice of table. The team on that evening 12 Oct were the tops. Reception lovely, waiter knowledgeable and attentive. Food was excellent, wine spot on and just at room temperature. Ambience great. Would I go again👍thank you for making the day for my wife's birthday.
Absolutely loved the food here! Great flavours, big portion size and definitely worth the money. The candle lit tables made everything seem soft focused, making it a great spot for date night.
It was my partner’s birthday, and the team surprised him with the most delicious crème brûlée and a card signed by the entire team, which was very sweet!
Will be coming back here again for sure.
Highly recommend this place!
The food was outstanding, super flavourful and tasty, I would recommend the seafood linguine one of the best I've had in London, it wasn't overly oily and the seafood was so fresh, also appreciated that they have a water bowl to clean your hands as you cracked open the shellfish, the staff were super friendly and were cracking jokes with us, the drinks were lovely and the service was fast, the only issue I had was that the reasturant is a little cramped inside and the tables are a little too close for my personal preference but besides this it was amazing
Was cozy and felt authentic French cuisine, wish I took more photos! But definitely recommend and will go back.
Fabulous food Great service and extraordinarily prompt. My waitperson was a delight
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
It was my first time here and I must to say I'll be coming back for more , amazing first experience.
Food was tasty and cooked to perfection despite how busy it was , team always happy and helpful (beautiful to see that), our waiter Davide was very professional and attentive during our meal, the manager Mauro also came to check on us more than once to make sure everything was good... no words to describe how amazed I felt specially at the end when they brought me a dessert and sang happy Birthday with a signed card from Palm Court team ♡ loved every moment, thank you so much for the amazing experience and I'll see you soon! Keep up the good energy.
Great food, great service. Amazing choice of food on the menu. Very friendly staff and very efficient. Tables are a bit small bit it's expected I'm a place like this, but the service and food make up for the small tables. It is a very busy and upbeat restaurant. I totally recommend it. I had the seabass and it was extremely tasty and very well cooked. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
We had dinner at this gorgeous restaurant to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful. Delicious food, romantic candlelight and really excellent service. We didn't have any dietary requirements but there were people seated nearby who did and the staff honestly couldn't have been more accommodating. Highly recommended!
We stopped here for Pre-Theatre Lunch on NY Eve and were delight he’d with the service, the menu variety and quality of food. Location is ideal, has a beautiful terrace. Would certainly return and recommend.
Our waiter was really great, apologies forgotten his name. He has a charming Spanish accent! Thank you
Good food and atmosphere on a Saturday lunchtime. You can get better steak elsewhere in London. Service was objectively slow (although fine for us as we weren’t in a rush) and they have a 12.5% service charge. Would go again but also wouldn’t be rushing back when there are lots of other places to eat in London.
Lovely choice for pre-theatre dinner and drinks. Server was lovely but attentiveness was lacking. Their seasonal white wine was delicious and highly recommend. You could tell their was a mixture of tourists and locals dining. The inside is beautiful, crisp and elegant. We ordered a mixture of items and all were delicious, well portioned and presented. I would recommend for any occasion.
Merci Beaucoup to our charming and Bellissimo waiter Davide! I celebrated my b-day with friends and had a wonderful night. Dinner service was very attentive. Cuisine was delicious (tart, caesar, coq au vin, moules-frites, and Saint Emilion bordeaux vino etc.) The mood was vibrant and it was a night to remember! Grazie: Davide, the entire staff, and chef! We will be back!
