Great pub with huge servings! Paid £5.50 for a huge plate of quesadillas. I was told this was a small meal - not the case! Very delicious!
Waitress was amazing, had a good sense of humour and took some really nice photos of our group! Thanks for the wonderful experience!
We ate our first meal in London at the Hansom Cab and we haven't had as good of an experience anywhere else yet. The (bar?) manager on duty served us and was incredibly hospitable, especially to our 10-year old. The drinks were great and the food was wonderful. Simple comfort food prepared with class. The place is quite lovely and cozy. Even though we've since dined at much "nicer" restaurants in town, this is the only one I'd return to and recommend.
Great pub and restaurant. Good beer selection and the fish and chips were great. I'd come back!
🚇 High Street Kensington
🍺 £6.25 Mahou
❤️ A steady independent Kensington pub.
.
This pub sits on the corner of picturesque Pembroke Square and Earls Court Road and is just a ten minute walk from High St Ken tube to get here.
.
It’s a Victorian pub with some lovely columns around the ground floor facade and is painted in a light neutral grey. On the upper floors you can see the original stock bricks and an art deco sign eluding to the name of the pub.
.
Inside it’s bright and airy with lots of comfy leather and upholstered sofas and chairs to rest your laurels. At the centre of this pub is an ornate bar with some detailed cornicing and dark woodwork. There are a couple of TV’s and the overall feel is contemporary.
.
The beer choice was good and I decided on a pint Mahou which is becoming more readily available these days. My pint was decent and at just over six quid was in line with the area. The food menu was full of pub classics and pizzas, fish & chips cost £15. If you like a bit of a bargain and want to get a bit more bang for your buck, head over to the guys at @city_stack to find out how to get £10 off a £20 pub spend and support independent local pubs across London.
.
I visited about 1.30pm on a Saturday and there were only a few punters in attendance. I managed to have a quick chat with the manager who was a nice fella and personable, overall it was chilled vibe on this visit.
.
The @thehansomcab is a steady pub and somewhere for all occasions, it’s well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Came here for a Sunday Roast and was not dissapointed! It was quite quiet when we came but service was brilliant. Food was lovely for a reasonable price (about £18 per roast). Everything was cooked to perfection and there was a decent selection of drinks. Would recommend :)
Enjoyed a good meal here after a day in London. We were staying nearby so decided to try it. It was better than traditional pub food. I had the fish and chips which was hot and prepared just right. Husband had a burger which also was good. Service was great as was the atmosphere. Not too crowded.
Nice pub, friendly staff - Enjoyed the food and drink. (I recommend the Lamb Bhuna Burger - excellent).
Pub is definitely worth a visit.
We popped in for a drink. We really liked this place. They do a good Guinness according to my husband. My G&T was nice. Dilly chips were great. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We will return.
An enjoyable pint in a lovely pub situated on the corner of Earls Court Road and Pembroke Square. Plenty of choice for keg beers, only Doombar for the cask fans though, London Pride looks like it is normally on though. Lively atmosphere with many in for the football. Outside seating available on Pembroke Square. Staff are lovely and attentive. A good stop for a pint (or three).
A Memorable Afternoon at The Hansom Cab
Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)
A visit to London would be incomplete without an authentic pub experience, and The Hansom Cab in the vibrant Kensington / Earl's Court area offers just that. A gem nestled in the heart of the city, The Hansom Cab is more than your traditional British pub, it's an exemplary testament to timeless British hospitality.
The first thing that strikes you about The Hansom Cab is the fantastic variety of beers. From classic ales to innovative craft beers, the pub ensures each brew is kept in prime condition. No doubt, beer lovers will find this haven a delightful treat.
Food is an integral part of a pub visit and The Hansom Cab triumphs in this area. The fish and chips, a traditional British fare, is a star dish. Expertly battered fish with a light, crispy exterior and succulent, flaky fish inside, is a gastronomic delight not to be missed. This is served alongside a generous portion of chips, so perfectly cooked they're a delicacy on their own.
The pub offers an extremely comfortable outdoor seating area, providing a pleasant space to enjoy London's often fleeting summer sun. Moreover, The Hansom Cab caters to sports enthusiasts with several television screens, that the staff will gladly tune to your choice of sporting event. During our visit, we had the pleasure of watching Wimbledon tennis, adding to the unique charm of our British pub experience.
However, what truly sets The Hansom Cab apart from its peers is the extraordinary team of staff, led by an outstanding manager. They are welcoming, diligent, and go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable experience. A case in point: forgetting my expensive camera at the pub, only to have the manager himself run a quarter of a mile down the street to return it to me. This act of kindness, while exceptional, is indicative of the high standards of service that The Hansom Cab maintains.
It's evident that The Hansom Cab is more than just a pub; it's a place that genuinely cares about its customers. Their outstanding service, coupled with excellent food and drink offerings, make it a must-visit spot in London. Indeed, The Hansom Cab's excellent reputation is not merely a result of chance, but a reflection of their consistent commitment to delivering a quality experience for their guests.
This is British hospitality at its finest. Whether you're a local or a tourist, I wholeheartedly recommend The Hansom Cab for an unforgettable London pub experience.
Great local pub. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and helpful. British Pub-One more thing to check off my bucket list.
Nice place to eat, a bit confusing as there are three different names to this place however the staff are very friendly and the food is nice.
Our experience was very good and the food was delicious. The only thing I would note, there was Golf playing on the screens for some reason aswel as a random choice of music but all in all I do recommend visiting this place if you are in the vicinity.
Seemed a decent pub, had a good pint of hazy IPA in there (I think Goose Island?) and an outdoor seating area on the road.
Could easily see a sunny Saturday afternoon session there.
Sausage-flavoured crisps piqued my interest also.
Had lunch today to celebrate my son's Holy Communion, we had a really good time ! I had the lamb keema burger it was so tasty ! Good portion size, the chunky chips are super crispy ! The hansom Cab burger was really good too ! Some people chose margarita pizza and it's really tasty ! They also have Lillet Rose and it's so perfect for warm weather ! Thank you for a super service, we are lucky to have you around the corner 👍😎
Great place and great ambience with nice indian people working behind the bar. Abhi and Wilma were very kind and friendly as bartenders helped me choose from the menu and told me about their fish and chips from their menu was one of their best food served there and it was absolutely amazing. Havent had such great fish n chips anywhere in london. Enjoyed my time there and relished the food and drinks. Definitely will return
Fast service, excellent fish and chips and salad. Discounted dining 12-6pm. Outdoor dining. Charming neighborhood. Family friendly.
Fantastic place - I really enjoyed this lovely London boozer - very close to Kensington high street - very friendly staff and a wonderful pint of Doom bar extra cold
Best Sunday roast I have ever had. I became a member of the clean plate club and can't wait for the badge of honor when I return to Kensington. My friend is a local and was really impressed with her chicken version of the Sunday roast and also cleaned her plate. Highly recommend. The customer service was excellent as well. Nice friendly and attentive.
