I stumbled upon Tota (around a 2 minute walk from Tooting Broadway tube station) after confusing myself with finding the Tootopia venues around Tooting!. Lovely cafe / restaurant with small outside area for people watching. Great menu offering all day breakfasts, as well as heartier dishes. Also check out the daily specials and the happy hour deals on cocktails....
Last week, Tim and I added another place to our list of local restaurants, after visiting Tota near Tooting Broadway. We both had a bit of a steak craving and we wanted to tuck into some good grub nearby so we could just walk (or roll!) back home in a matter of minutes. The restaurant was dimly lit and so cosy – perfect when it was cold and raining outside. I instantly opted for a mulled wine with brandy, while Tim ordered a beer. Please excuse the quality of the photos – a certain husband had promised to bring my camera from home with him and forgot ;) So I had to make do with my camera phone.
Thrilled this has opened in Toots- it's about time - went three times in the first week and everything was exceptional, amazing smokey ribs cooked on an open grill, everything looks very home made, didn't have a starter but my sweet tooth was well looked after, passion fruit bavois one night and pear tart Tatin the next.... Very very good. The staff are young, keen and eager but possibly need a little direction - but it was the first week and the place was rocking.Very happy to see Toots is on the up!!!
Great new addition for Tooting. Already been for brunch twice and dinner twice and cannot fault it.
Had pancakes, maple syrup & bacon - as good as any I have had nyc!
For dinner had calamari then steak first time and chicken liver parfait and pollock with white bean & chorizo stew second time - all really lovely.
Children very well catered for too.
A lovely stylish restaurant and a real asset to the area.

Tota is totally amazing, if you are looking for an eatery which is non-pretentious with great service and well cooked food, this has to be a place on your short list. To be honest I thought this would be the case from the moment I made the reservation the Wednesday before we visited. The person who answered the phone was pleasant and helpful and the exceptional service continued from the moment we walked through the door. Tota mixes urban cool with vintage overtones and I just love the decor. The restaurant is laid-back but also smart. It is just a short walk from Tooting Broadway tube station and is already a local favourite!
Tota serve up some seriously tasty food and unique smoothies. Service is quick and always with a smile.
I certainly recommend the restaurant, especially for a weekend brunch. It does get busy quickly so do make sure to book a table in advance!
We hope our server's name was Andreas, that what the bill showed. He did outstanding job handling the restaurant with friendliness and grace.
The food was amazing, wonderful flavors, textures, and presentation! Their vegan and vegetarian options will work for anyone. So much flavor in all the dishes.

Great local brunch and dinner spot!
Came for brunch at 1pm on Sunday in July, plenty of tables so got a great window spot.
Very good value BLAT sandwich (with perfectly ripe avocado! 🥑 ) and Korean chicken burger. (So good we forgot to take a pic until half eaten!) Nice espresso martini but didn’t love the beer they had on tap (a bit citrusy for us). Fun music and good family vibe!
One of the absolutely amazing places we've been to for a while for brunch. It's one of the few dog friendly places in the area but it's not your regular dog friendly, it is super dog friendly.
The staff was awesomely friendly to us and the dogs. The service was quick and the quality of the food was stunning.
Would definitely be going back when we are in London and highly recommended.
Really lovely breakfast and coffees in Tooting! The place was packed but that didn’t impact the service, speed, friendliness of staff. It had a great vibe! I didn’t love my avo toast, but I think the tropical salsa with the eggs just threw me off a little. Would definitely be back to try something else!

Even though there was no French Toast this day when I tried to order 💔 the waiter was very lovley and we had a good laugh, so I didn't mind having to change my mind!
Went for brunch. Tasty. Decent portion size. Very warm welcome. Nice beer on tap. They didn’t get a few things right on the order but were more than happy to change it. Good location for watching the world go by outside.
Writing this review a bit late but if you want breakfast/brunch and good coffee in Tooting then this is your place (highly recommend the French toast -you’ll notice this is one of the only places in Tooting you’ll be able to get it, and the avo on sourdough). I used to live walking distance to the cafe and and very much miss it. The service is top notch, -I don’t know the managers name but he was always friendly and I noticed he would acknowledge each and every customer coming in which is quite cool as you don’t see all managers doing that. If you’re worried about missing out on a busy weekend, you can always book a table Opentable.com, there are a few outside and the rest are indoors.
The restaurant hosted a great birthday evening for a friend. They have a beautiful decor and flawless menu. The management’s excellent taste permeates every level of the place. Highly recommend!

Great food! Although I feel the menu is missing a yoghurt and grenola option and smoothies.
Service is always great, super friendly and hard working staff. Food comes out pretty quickly.
Atmosphere/ setting - I feel there is one too many tables inside that leaves things a little cramped. I feel like I'm eating with people I don't know.
We visited this place for the first time recently and have to say it was a lovely experience. We were looked after by Andreas who was super friendly and attentive, the food was amazing with plenty of veggie / vegan options, and the cocktails were really tasty and good value for money. The music selection in here is also great, much better than most places and really matched the vibe. Thank you!
Stumbled upon this spot day 2 in the neighborhood with a full patio and plates that looked too good , I had to try. Day 3 came back the following morning for more, soooo good. Paul and the crew are amazing. Friendly , and great food here ! !! Brisket Benny, and oatmilk latte. ❤
We wanted to praise the brilliant staff here - only two front of house running the whole restaurant and bar with every table full, yet friendly and professional! We were so impressed by them. The food was really tasty too. Great for a relaxed date.
So glad to find this place for lunch. Steak in the sandwich was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. The sauce went really well with sun-dried tomatoes. What an enjoyable plate! I also had mango and strawberry smoothie, which was also satisfying. Staff are very attentive and kind. Highly recommend this place!
What a little gem! We really never expected to find this place just leaving another restaurant on the same road. We decided to pop in for some pud a delicious mango and cherry cheese cake and hackney pistachio ice cream! Try the szechuan Salt crusted cocktail..punch with a kick! Wow totally blew us away the flavours are awesome together. Will be back soon the service was excellent very attentive 😊
Quality of the food was great. Awesome flavours and presentation. Great service. On the pricey side - £50 per person, but we had pre-dinner drink, wine, food and digestive cocktails, plus coffees and a shared desert.
We had a family dinner. The stying the atmosphere in the restaurant is excellent.
The food doesn’t quite match I had cauliflower under cooked and I was disappointed and I thought the triple cooked chops would be amazing sadly not. We had the house wine which I thought had a really cheap taste to it. Also chops were brought to us ages before the mains that didn’t make much sense to me. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Sadly not sure I would rush back unless the issues I have mentioned are addressed
Great place for brunch and reasonably priced. Not a fan of tapas which they serve in the evening but that's just me. Their eggs benedict is amazing 👌🤌
Went to Tota for breakfast, it was overall a pretty positive experience. It's a nice quant restaurant, nicely styled although maybe a little cramped. You are easily within earshot of conversations happening either side of you. The food is excellently presented, nicely seasoned and well cooked. The only draw back was the portion sizes are not overly large. In all I would recommend.
