I had a lovely mediterranean breakfast at Stone Cave. I think stone cave is the best in Dalston. Lovely atmosphere, great food and friendly service. Definitely will be back soon.
Stone Cave is a Turkish restaurant in Dalston. Immediately on entering the resturant we were pleasantly surprised. True to its name it was decorated to give you a sense of dining in a cave, with Turkish drapes and lanterns.
To get your tastebuds racing, you are presented with nibbles of olives, pickles and humous with bread.
Starters consisted of their Feta Parcels and Courgette Fritters. Both were flavoursome and a nice light starter, leaving plenty of space in one’s stomach for the main
Mains consisted of Shish Kebab and Grilled Chicken Niblets. The kebab was flavoursome and juicy with authentic Turkish flavours coming through. The Chicken Niblets on the other hand were pretty average, lacking any authentic Turkish spices, with just the smokiness of the charcoal grill coming through. Nonetheless, the portions were hearty and the meal was enjoyable. The accompanied rice was well flavoured and buttery.
For dessert we opted for their Creme Brûlée with a Turkish twist and Baklava. Both were sickly sweet and the added cinnamon wasn’t a good combination.
The portions were decent and the meal was good value for money. Although what we ordered was nothing exceptional it was still good Turkish food in a pleasant setting and somewhere we would consider visiting again.

Stone Cave is my favourite restaurant of all time. I have to travel for up to an hour to get here but it is always worth the journey. The service is good, the food is brilliant. If you like Turkish food you will love it, if you don't you'll still find something delicious to eat. Try it!
Stone Cave. Amazing food again - awesome service. It is the complete 'Turkish Experience'; Food, Belly Dancers, Traditional music and Turkish Staff!!
You cannot ask for more from a local restaurant.
The inside is totally designed like your in a real stone cave!! Unreal - I've been twice in the last month and intend on going soon!

Love love love this place! I always have the lamb ribs which are so succulent and juicy. Had the kisir as a stater with turkish sausages and halloumi. Yum! So good!! I would recommend the lamb ribs or the lamb chops at this place. And explore the starters because they are very tasty. If in doubt about what to order when it comes to the starters then go for the hot and cold mixed mezes because you get everything. You can't beat the belly dancer either she's got skills and always needs a companion to dance with. Very fun evening.
I came here with a large group and we decided to sit outside, as some of my party were smokers and it's located on the bustling Kingsland Road, great for people watching. The interior is styled like a cave, with hundreds of decorative lanterns hanging from the ceiling. It looks a little gimmicky but is quite a fun idea. We all ordered pints of Efes which is a really delicious Turkish beer and was pretty reasonably priced for a restaurant, at around £4.45. Most of my party weren't eating but I decided to share the Chef's Special meze plate with a friend and another if us ordered the baked sea bass. Both our meals arrived very quickly and I was really impressed by our meze platter which had a variety of dips, fried halloumi, falafel, delicious mitite kofte meatballs and tabbouleh. My friend also loved her sea bass, which was really flavoursome. The meal was great and I would love to come again so I can explore the menu more. Our waiter was a little short with us when more friends joined our table but generally good food and a good experience.
Had a lovely night at Stone Cave. Delicious hot and cold mixed meze and lovely Lamb Shank, friendly staff nice ambiance. Definitely recommended.
I have eaten many restaurant around London the stone cave is my favourite restaurant. Lovely food, great service specially mixed meze I would say the best meze I have ever eaten. Thanks guys...
I have been to Stone Cave and I had a lovely evening. Fabulous food, excellent service. We had chefs special for starter, for mains I had Sultans Delight and my friend had Lamb Shish Kebab, meat was really tender. Highly recommend we will come back soon.
Dalston and Stoke Newington have plenty of Turkish cuisine choices- the point is, everyone may be referring to a various category of dishes for this cuisine. It is either meze platters, bakery or the kebap fever. Stone Cave will be an appropriate stop if you are just discovering Turkish tastes as the menu is really comprehensive: you have "Borek" along with some veggie meze and even "Sultan's Delight"
If you are a starter, I would suggest you choose an appealing dish from each category and share- so that you can travel through different aromas and complete your dinner with a big grin. I have to confess that the dishes are not at their best here, but you would need to travel to another specific restaurant for each category in London- so it is quite convenient to train your palate about Turkish flavors.
It was between this and Voodoo Rays for a Dalston dinner the other night, similar to a dog’s dinner but with more ZZ Top beards. In a rare moment of public interaction, our conversation was swayed by a randomer’s vote for Turkish over Italian. Thank you (eavesdropping) lady at the cash machine, you made the right choice.
Stone Cave has a lovely ceiling. You’ll know what I mean if you’ve been, it just hypnotises you. Like the rest of the Aladdin’s Cave decor it’s tacky as hell but somehow quite endearing.
We went for few hot and cold starters to share which gladly arrived all together. Given the 4 hours of sun-time booze it couldn’t have come quicker. An arsenal of small plates filled with classic cold mezes went down a treat; not one dud out of the humus, cacik, kisir, tabbouleh and babaganoush. Chicken wings were juicy if not generic, but the mucver (courgette fritters) reined supreme. Absolutely delish.
Everyone was convinced their main was the best, which stopped things getting ugly early on. No food envy here, none of it. B’s Sultan’s delight was a centre piece of beautifully tender stewed spiced lamb on truly exquisite aubergine mash. The iskinder lamb shish was nicely spiced, perfectly offset with the yoghurt and butter sauce.
I fail to remember when I’ve had lamb as tender and flavoursome as my kulbasti. Chargrilled and served sliced, the meat was beautifully sweet and full of flavour, complimented with a tasty aubergine rice. Everything was nicely decorated and thankfully didn’t attempt to recreate a scene from Ali Baba through the medium of your food (not Turkish I know, before the hate mail rolls in.)
Thoroughly enjoyable and largely stress free on the bill front.
Probably my favourite Turkish restaurant to sit down and eat in Dalston, the food is great and the place is really lively on evenings along with the staff being really friendly and entertaining as well. Sometimes at weekends they have live music which livens up the place even more. I like the interior and decor as it's quite unique and I feel more relaxed than other Turkish restaurants which seem to have the same bland, cafeteria style decor.
Delicious Meze and lamb shank, great atmosphere, friendly staff...
Perfect for your Turkish fix, good food, friendly staff and outdoor seating
Decent Mediterranean food! The ambience inside is really nice, they’ve done a great job with the cave-esque interior and the lighting is cool.
Food was really good, and served quickly. The hot and cold starters for two with a handful of other bits was perfect for a couple to share.
Vegan, vegetarian and meat available, so everyone is covered!
Finally shoutout to the gentleman that served us yesterday, his service was really good!
I had lovely dinner, good quality and reasonably priced food. I was well looked after by the staff. Will be looking forward to go back.
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food with a great selection of lamb dishes.
The service was impeccable. Definitely recommend to stop by for dinner 😊
We initially chose this restaurant as a backup plan, but it greatly exceeded our expectations. Love the lamb ribs! Also the honey goat cheese, although it’s a bit strong
Amazing service coupled with amazing food which suits every budget😀
Defiantly returning
Nice atmosphere, food is great but portions could be a bit better but that could just be me. Service is really great. Fun friendly staff.
Came on a Monday night and it was very quiet. The food was excellent and came out quickly. The service was good and attentive and a complimentary small desert was given. Only slight gripe was having the order taken by one of the owners’ young son. Just a tad awkward if you’re not a huge children person. Had to point at the menu for him to write it down properly (in fear it would be wrong). Overall, highly recommended.
The food was great. All the party enjoyed it.
Kebabs were tasty, decent, tender, sized presentable portions.
Seating area was nicely presented, hygienic and uncluttered.
Toilets were clean but not tidy. Restaurant was not hard to find.
Waiter and waitresses were helpful. Could be more attentive and know just a tiny bit more about alcoholic drinks.
