Bardzo fajny wybór piw. Szczególnie warto wypić piwo Hells, klasyczny lekki lager, warzony w pobliskim browarze w Camden.
Friendly, warm neighborhood pub. Try the Noble on tap and the pies!
Brilliant pies! Very homely environment!
The Hawley Arms was famously one of Amy Winehouse's haunts, and I actually had the pleasure of seeing here there once. Now we've got that out the way, because I'm sure everyone who knows the pub is tired of hearing about it, I can get on to complimenting the place. It has great style, wax-laden bottles holding candles and stag heads mounted to the walls, large ceiling fans adding a cooling breeze to the sultry ambiance. There's lots of space to sit. In short, it's a great place to have a drink. While the food is pretty average, it's good enough for the venue to make up for it. I seem to remember they provide servings of chips in pint glasses, that's pretty cool I guess...
This is probably my favourite pub in Camden. It's as trendy as it gets. Having lived in Camden for two yeas, the Hawley has pride of place when it comes to attracting the stars. I spotted Amy Winehouse there twice, and spent an evening with Russell Brand's father. The feel of the place is almost up-itself cool, but really, it is that cool. There is a bar both upstairs and down, with comfortable outside areas for those chilled drinks on those sweaty summer days. The food? You don't really go to the Hawley for the food. You insist? Fine. Get the BLT. It isn't half bad!
Screw Flanders.
Resurrected like a phoenix, the Hawley arms is only improving with age. the booze is cheap, and so are the women. People do go there for the food, but most fun will be had at night. There's a great outside and upstairs area and they often have live music, the quality of which is occasionally questionable but then I once did walk in to hear Amy Winehouse do an impromptu gig. Keep a dime for the jukebox - it has some awesome tunes!
Great place. We went mid week lunch time so found a table to sit. Prices reasonable considering the area Good food, lovely staff.
Came here for Sunday Roast. Was seated quickly. I ordered the roast pork and my partner had roast beef. Roast beef came with a Yorkshire pudding but roast pork does not (consistent with the menu).
Roast pork crackling was good , meat was tasty and juicy.
Roast beef lacked beef flavour but texture was good.
Overall portion size was very generous and the roast was very filling.
Price is good too - under £20 each roast.
For drinks we had a bloody Mary and Camden pale ale which were both good.
I wouldn't necessarily make a trip all the way here for roast (I don't live locally) but if I was in the area and couldn't find a new place to try I would be happy to come here again.
#dogfriendly
Really nice gaff, would definitely revisit with more friends, solid service and no issues with the upstairs space, which is devine, a real little hideaway in the chaos of Camden Town.
Fantastic food, fantastic staff, fantastic atmosphere and dog friendly too...absolutely loved it.
Perfect English pub atmosphere with reasonable prices. The food was British delicious and the service was great
Lovely to visit this great pub that the late singer amy winehouse used to drink in.great atmosphere and amazing memorabilia on the walls.staff really friendly
Decent pub serving a good selection of beers. Well known in the area and visited by lots of tourists for its connection to Amy Winehouse.
Absolutely in love!
The people... So friendly, welcoming, great to talk to and on point with everything I needed.
The decor... Such an indie vibe with a feel of so many experiences, signed artist pictures on the wall, a few different style seats you can have a more private area or more open, you can have a lounge by the fire area. Choices!
The food, I had the beef Sunday roast, I was so in love with this the beef was perfectly cooked the roasties were slightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, the Yorkshire the same texture, perfection
Cabbage ... Oh baby when someone knows how to make cabbage tasty I could eat it for days!
To finish it off, a cute small packet of love hearts which I think was a great take away option to pop on your bag for later
Il be back from Cyprus and visiting There as a priority!!
Absolutely delicious roast. We had one of each… the pork, beef and veggie. All so delicious and full of flavour. The two girls that served us were awesome despite being very busy! Thanks. Will be back.
Great bit of music history around the pub and a lot of space, was super busy as it was a Saturday and thunder storming so everyone was taking shelter inside! The person serving upstairs was super nice and effortlessly managed the whole upstairs herself. Managed to get a seat, which felt really communal and friendly — people just speak to everyone and share tables, making it a super nice atmosphere.
Just went for some drinks at dinner time with some friends so we ordered some food, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was busy, yet the food came in a timely manner and was SO GOOD. I’d definitely come back for the food. Can have a proper meal here, and their sticky toffee pudding was exceptional as well, some of the best I’ve had.
I visited the Hawley Arms on a busy Saturday afternoon, with a group of friends for lunch and drinks. We wanted to escape from the crowds at Camden Market. The selection of beers and ciders, and the diverse menu pleased even the pickiest members of our group, and the service was spot on. Great public house ambiance too. And to top it all off, the fish and chips were delicious 😋. The haddock was fresh and substantial! I will definitely return!
Had a great evening in the bar, great atmosphere. Unfortunately this was ruined when the upstairs bar closed and we were moved to the ground floor. After relocating to a table in the downstairs bar, I went out for quick vape and came back in. A few minutes later my mate did the same -going outside to smoke - I joined him but on that ocassion, 3 minutes after I had initially gone out and come back in, we were told (only when going back in) that there was 'no readmitance'. I politely told him I hadn't been told this was the case but he had decided we weren't coming back in. I can't help but think, for my friend this decision was racially motivated as I had not had a problem before. Rather tellingly the bouncer wouldn't tell me his name and when I went to film him/take a photo he ran inside the bar. Unprofessional and confrontational, it ruined an otherwise brilliant night. Be careful of the door staff. Find attached an image, not of the door man in question (he had run away to hide) but of the doorman that he was working with/under.
Lovely pub steeped in music history. Get a pint of chips & a Scotch egg while you are there 🍻
Hello again people,
You are in for a treat. This is a pub that I visit on a regular basis simply because it’s one of the best in Camden, the atmosphere is eclectic and traditional all at the same time.
It’s full of amazing photographs on the walls, being a photographer makes me love it even more. it’s worth a visit just to see the photos, there is a roof terrace and outside space at the back. If you are lucky enough you can get a seat at the front.
Guys this place is amazing it’s a must visit if you go to Camden if you leave without going here then you haven’t really seen and felt camden.
One of the reasons why I say this is because this was one of Camden’s most famous residents local pub. Amy Winouse was known to frequent this pub and you will see references of her all over the place. It’s not only famous for her but people like Kate Moss Kirsten Dunst and Kelly Osbourne have hung out here and me of course 😜.
This place was almost destroyed by fire back in 2008 but managed to survive with help from locals and the famous alike to rebuild and relaunch this historic pub.
Other celebrities like Mark Ronson, Razorlight and Noel Fielding. have found themselves in this incredible place. Today I just had a soft drink because I was working. The kitchen is normally my highlight because the food served was amazing. At the moment of writing this the kitchen is out of comission so I can’t do a write up on the food.
The bar is well stocked and any drink you want you will find in the Hawley Arms. This place is beautifully located just by Camden Bridge you know the one that’s in every picture ever taken by every tourist that visits camden.
When you visit ask for the Rickstasy', apparently it was Amy Winehouse’s favourite drink it consists of “vodka, banana liqueur, Southern Comfort and Baileys. I have no idea how much it cost but let me know if you ordered it and tell me how it was. I love the staff in this place they are ultra cool and very “Camden” the manager is Nando is is a fantastic guy super cool Italian.
The place is filled as I mentioned with photos from the ground floor downstairs towards the toilets with photos of the late great Bob Marley and signed football shirts. You will love this place. The photos I took on this visit don’t really capture the feel but gives you a good idea of where you are going. Before or after your visit to the market this is the place to unwind or prepare.
Oh by the way when you go make sure you go around the back there’s a amazing piece of wall are you have to see. Let me know if you get a chance to see it.
On February 9, 2008 a roaring fire swept through Camden, North London, causing serious damage to the famous Camden Market and another haunt that was famous for different reasons.
Celebrities including Kate Moss, Kirsten Dunst and Kelly Osbourne had also been spotted there.
Yet on that fateful night, it too caught flames and there were questions as to whether the legendary venue would ever see the light of day again.
The Hawley Arms was the late singer Amy Winehouse's local pub and had also been frequented by the likes of Mark Ronson, Razorlight and Noel Fielding.
After a lot of fundraising to support the cause, Ruth announced that, against all odds, the boozer was salvageable.
It officially reopened on Halloween in 2008, with a flurry of live gigs to welcome it back to life.
Thankfully, the pub lives on and customers can raise a glass to the singer, whose favourite tipple was the 'Rickstasy', which consists of vodka, banana liqueur, Southern Comfort and Baileys. “Enjoy” ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the greatest pubs in Camden, used to be Amy Winehouse's local back in the day, and meeting point of many of the big names in the alternative rock scene from the early 2000s. Great vibes anytime, great music. A must if you're in Camden.
A place to hang your coat and hat and chill! Very cool manager that opened up 10 minutes early because there were a few waiting to get in! Don’t forget to order a pint of chips! The music memorabilia is something to see - even the toilet stalls. Will be going back soon! Love Hawley Arms. A must! Cheers! Also right across the road from Camden Market! Make a day into an evening!
This is a famous pub of Camden.
To be honest been coming here quite a few years feels less transient & touristy than it used to so maybe the 'Amy' effect is drifting away.
There are a few good pubs around Camden but The Hawley is in better condition than some.
Saturday/Sunday afternoon is usually rocking in here great atmosphere. Not horrifyingly expensive compared to some.
I had a great experience at this PUB. The staff is friendly and cool, the music is great, the chips are from another planet and the prices are reasonable. Thanks to Sandro, who was incredibly friendly and helpful! I won’t ask for napkins next time. Now I know they can be easily found at the bar 😂😂😂 BTW, my table was not behind the coffee machine. It was actually “double behind. 😜
Thank you! We had a good laugh!
