Definetelly the best Turkish restaurant in London not sure why Liman gets all the hype but anyways Kazan's signature is great meat dishes and I highly recommend trying lamb. Desserts are nice and so are the starters. The highlight is - impeccable service which is something hard to come by even in a high end restaurants. P.S. portions are huge so go hungry or share.

Definitely one of the best Turkish restaurants I've ever been!
Good: Very good variety of food, great range of choices from lamb, beef, chicken, vegetarian or seafood, some very special starters and definitely unique dessert choices.
Had Ottoman grill, which gives a range of grilled chicken, lamb and lamb chop, beautiful salad with pomegranate, and gentle portion of rice. All grilled bits cooked to perfection, very tender, and you can see how juicy they are the moment you put your knife onto them, lamb chops grilled to fantastic medium, and all kept warm until you finish your last bite. The chilli sauce is a must with grills if you can tolerate mild spice.
Assorted dessert plate is a good one if you cannot decide which one to have, will give you a variety of try pieces. Otherwise Turkish Syllabub is definitely on top of dessert list with raspberry soaked in cherry brandy served with magnificent Cointreau and orange blossom syllabub.
Very nice and friendly staff, always serve with a smile. Very unique decorations, and very clean, including WC.
Not so good: Cannot find any.

Booking is recommended, dinner opens from 5.30pm and multiple groups of people (both with and without booking) already presented at door, can get very busy at prime time.

You know that moment when new friends start to feel like old friends? The people who you meet at a new job or something? At first it’s all super politeness and trying to make a good impression…but a few proseccos down the line you start to feel really relaxed in their company and everything feels easy as if you’ve known them forever?

A Turkish establishment with an "Ottoman" menu. It attempts to be rather grandiose and with all the meat on offer it kind of is. The most enjoyable though is the mezze starter platter for two. All the elements on the plate were fresh and tasty - highly recommend this dish. I had the Kazan special, various cuts of meat on a spicy tomato sauce atop a bread. It arrived under a golden cloche and the presentation was all rather impressive. However, mid-way through, the bread became too soggy to be palatable, the sauce overpowered the meat (which was otherwise well cooked) and it was a bit of a let down after the starter. The waitress also failed to tell us that two of the dishes we had ordered were not available that day and so we had to wait a while until everyone's newly ordered mains were ready. To make up for the error they offered us some sweets at the end and free mint tea. Overall, it was ok.

Amazing food! Vegetable soup is soo good!! The chicken and fish were amazing! Ate here twice during my 12 day stay in London. Pricey but worth it! It's romantic and the staff are very good! Sadly, I didn't take pictures of my first trip.

Middle Eastern food is one of my weaknesses. I’m not talking a dirty kebab on my way home after a big night (although that also has its merits), but rather a selection of mezzes, preferably including as many dips as possible. Kazan has a lovely moody atmosphere, with plenty of lamps and soft furnishings. It feels themed but without being over-the-top. This is definitely a date night venue, especially if you can nab one of the cozy corners like we did.

Kazan’s a place that I’ve been to again and again, ordered similar dishes every time and not been disappointed once. Not even slightly. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant itself has a really intimate, eastern (clichéd though that sounds!) feel. The service could be slightly more prompt but, with so many covers, it’s a slight oversight that I am more than happy to overlook.

I start every time with their amazing Mixed Mezze Platter. The falafels are fluffy, the baba ganoush smoky and the tabbouleh satisfying sharp and herby against the creamy humus. Needless to say the grilled hellimi (halloumi to you and me) is utterly indulgent salty deliciousness.

To follow it has to be the Kazu Tandir, which is a slow cooked lambs shoulder pulled apart and sat on top of a flatbread that soaks up all of the sweet juices. The Spinach Sauté is a great little medley of spinach, onion and tomato, and their homemade chilli sauce provides the hot, sour, spicy and sweet kick to round the whole dish off.

In terms of wine, it’s not great but this is really, really well executed and tasty food. Whilst it’s not cheap, it doesn’t break the bank and would be a perfect location to wine and dine a lucky partner or to go out to celebrate a special occasion.

The mains menu offered an appetising choice of grilled meats and fish dishes, but I was drawn to the vegetarian menu due to the Hellimi kebab – a Hellimi and mixed vegetable skewer, chargrilled served with bulgar (£12.95). The chefs had cooked the Halloumi cheese just right – not too chewy or salty and the chargrill really brought our the flavour.

Juicy Ottoman cuisine. We ordered two main dishes from the "grill" section and we were very pleased with that.

The meat quality is high, extremely tender and spiced to perfection. At Kazan, the environment is smart, they offer a fine standard of service and pay attention at all details. Overall Kazan isn't cheap but the location and the atmosphere are totally different to most Turkish houses in East London.

I'd love to experience more of its succulent dishes in the near future. Recommended.

Fine turkish cuisine. I live near Kazan, have been in a number of times, and can unabashedly recommend it as some of the better Turkish food in the city. The meat has always been perfectly spiced and cooked, allowing for descriptions like 'succulent' and 'flavourful' which, in a city that seems to pride itself on overcooking meat, is a very welcome change. If you have at least five people, the banquet feast is particularly wonderful and offers a sampling of almost everything in the kitchen (mezzes and mains). For individuals, the combination plates will give you a taste of the various meats, at least. With mezzes, drinks, and so forth, the price can get a bit dear, compare to typical Turkish places, but the food is definitely worth it.

Very Good Food and Service. I went to Kazan for dinner tonight. I had the Mezza Plate for 2 as I was hungry but did not want a heavy meal. I also had an order of sucuk. The mezza plate was nicely decked out and everything was delicious. It included 8 separate starters and 4 dips. It also came with a small dish of olives and an endless supply of nice, warm Turkish bread.

The sucuk was nicely grilled and a generous portion.

The place was packed, which is good for a Monday night, and the plates the waiters were carrying to various tables looked very well presented and generous portions.

The service was very quick and the handsome staff were very exceptionally attentive without hovering over you. That was quite impressive given the large number of people dining. I would give it 8-9. Definitely would go back and try some of the mains as well as a large dessert menu.

Between Kazan and Preto (Brazilian), Wilton St has some good choices.

So yesterday was a complete food day for me and seeing as the weather was miserable I decided to eat a little closer to home.

Despite not having a reservation and the place being completely full the host invited me to wait a few minutes and he would accommodate us. Ever so polite and friendly and the place has such warmth.

Adamant on trying new things I perused through the menu.
Starters:
Calamari
Tiger Prawns
Beetroot
Borek (highly recommended)

The prawns were marinated in a delicious sauce mixed with finely diced onions a cream sauce and various herbs absolutely gorgeous taste! The calamari did not have as much crunch to it as I would have liked but did come with an unusual curry like glazed sauce. The beetroot dip was fantastic and extremely moreish in my opinion but did not have an overpowering taste which was lovely. My favourite however had to be the Borek which looks like a samosa but has a cheese mint like flavour with the consistency of melted morzarella absolutely to die for!

The mains ordered were the lamb kofte and the special which was seabass which came with a rocket salad. My eyes being too big for my stomach I added a portion of mash in there too. Beautifully presented, perfect texture the seabass was crisp on the outside but moist on the inside with the thyme blending into the fish and not dominating the flavour. The kofte was also perfectly cooked with the right amount of moisture. To wash it down I alternated between Turkish lemonade and fresh Apple juice both refreshing. I was looking forward to dessert but the portions were so big I simply could not finish had to get some of my fish to take away.
Considering the portion size and the amount we ordered I think £60 was extremely reasonable! The staff, food quality, atmosphere and portion size enable me to highly recommend this place. A real gem!!

Took my husband here for an evening dinner and LOVED IT! Mediterranean delicious food which was very filling. A little bit pricy but you would expect that due to the interior design/food/service. A perfect place for an anniversary dinner or some sort of celebration. We ordered a mixed meze starter, 2 cocktails and 2 mixed shish mains.... Bill came up to £80

I went there for my birthday this year. Must say, amazing service by the waiters. Extremely polite and happy to help. The only downside was that they took a huge piece of my cake without asking.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We were given the underground section which had dimmed lights and beautiful chandeliers.

The food itself was amazing. Kazan serves halal meat, which allowed me to order meat dishes. I got a mixed grill with chips and salad and could not finish it because of how big the portion size was. The price is slightly on the expensive said. A meal for 2 will cost around £35.

It is at a walking distance from Victoria station and is very easy to get to. Despite my awful experience with the waiters, I will still recommend everyone to try their food out.

Great Turkish restaurant! They have one the most succulent chicken and lamb kebabs!

They restaurant has a great atmosphere, with dimmed lights and great decor. It can get extremely busy during evenings but nonetheless that should not put you off to visit this place! The prepare some of the best dishes, and I could not get enough.

Moreover, they have great service and it is an extremely classy place. I would love to go there again sometime soon!

If you are searching for the perfect date-night venue, with an authentic Turkish cuisine, you’ve found it. The location (5 mins from London Victoria station) may not be the most romantic, however once you’re inside you forget the busyness of Central London as you soak into Kazan’s soothing atmosphere.

Since discovering this gem two years ago, I’ve had the pleasure of returning five times, and there are good reasons for that too! The food is simply brilliant for the price you’re paying for an elegant dining experience. The calming atmosphere, built by the relaxing background instrumental music and elegant decor, makes it the perfect setting for an intimate night out with your nearest and dearest.

From the moment you walk in you are greeted with warm welcomes and a friendly customer service. Within all my experiences at Kazan I’ve never had a complaint about the service, all bookings have been well organised with the help of the friendly staff. My most recent visit was for a friend’s birthday, and I must say our designated waiter did a great job at handling our orders for all 10 of us with much patience.

The food does take a while to arrive, however it is well worth the wait. Every dish is rich in flavour, with a wide variety to choose from their tender meat dishes to sea food and vegetarian. The Ottoman Grill is my personal favourite, with a selection of chicken and lamb pieces, which can also be shared between two with a smaller appetite (their portion sizes are fairly large). The drinks menu also contains a large selection from alcoholic to non-alcoholic beverages.

Kazan is certainly on my list of top recommended restaurants around London for these above reasons!

It is very rare in London to be able to walk into a restaurant in the centre of town on a Sunday lunch time without booking and get a table - it is even rarer when you get a table and the food actually turns out to be good. That's why it was such a delight to have recently found Kazan, just a stones throw away from Victoria station. Just to clarify, there are 2 restaurants opposite each other - the more form restaurant Kazan with a larger menu and the more informal, cafe-like restaurant Kazan kitchen, which is the one we went to.

I am fussy about Middle Eastern food, mainly because I love it so much but I was so impressed by the quality of the food. Portions were big so we didn't opt for starters but between us, mains included aubergine with lamb mince in a tomato sauce with a delicious and tangy yoghurt sauce and a portion of rice, chicken and lamb shish, which were so tender and came with a side portion of chips. The falafel wrap was stuffed full with lots of fresh salad, flavoursome crispy falafel and rice on the side as well. We were quite relieved that we hadn't ordered starters and we were stuffed to the brim with this!

But desserts are worth saving space for - we chose a plate of baklava and a Turkish apricot and apple crumble with ice cream to share. The crumble was, in my opinion, even more delicious than a normal crumble with a soft pastry like casing and served lovely and warm! The baklavas were so good but perhaps had just a touch too much honey drizzled which made them just a bit too sweet. There are also a great selection of drinks on offer including Turkish lemonades (with rose syrup), coconut water blended with fresh strawberries or grapes (I ordered this but wasn't a huge fan) and some delicious smoothies as well as a very aromatic cinamon tea.

The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and informal and if you are after a more formal dining experience with a larger menu, head to the Kazan restaurant opposite rather than the cafe, although frankly, this menu was varied enough for my liking! If you don't fancy Middle Eastern food, then they also have a range of pasta/pizza/salad type brunch options available.

All in all, I felt it was quite a good value meal with friendly, efficient service and ideal for a stress=-free, good quality and easy going relaxed lunch in central London.

The place has

2008:Another Turkish, but this time closer to the top of the middle than otherwise, Kazan served ten of us delightful food in a nice and clean environment.

A good time was had by all for the hours we spent there (although a lot of that was waiting for food, which was disappointing), and despite being seated at a long table (which usually kills any chance of a group discussion) the atmosphere was so conducive to having a good time we didn't even notice.

So what's not to like? Well for one thing, the price. Although we had taken advantage of a Top Table 50% thing, the bill still hit a whopping £20 per head after all the bell and whistles had been added on. Still we had slightly over ordered (particularly on the overpriced cocktails) but I think more careful ordering could have prevented this - those of us who stuck to the excellent mezze were more than happy with our meal.

Something to consider when you want to splash out, especially if halalness and conversation are paramount to your enjoyment of a meal.2015:I guess I was tempting fate by complaining about the flooding of Turkish food options on the London Muslim's menu during my last post - I suppose it's no coincidence that my second meeting with a Muslim crowd landed me in yet another Turkish place this week. But as Efes showed, one can still be surprised even in the middle of ubiquity, so I did manage to go in to Kazan with a relatively open mind. I think the immediate impression given by Kazan was one of a more "posh" Turkish place. This was reflected in the decor and clientele; this is a place that would appear very out of sorts in the middle of Whitechapel, say. The menu was also pretty difference too; yes, the mezze's were pretty standard, but the mains consisted of various gourmet platters and even a naked burger. Interesting and somewhat refreshing stuff then.I went for the naked burger (and will admit that I was both surprised and embarrassed when it arrived without any sign of a bun), and it was more than just pretty good. It was perfectly portioned, tasted great and went down well - and looking at the platters received by others at the table it seemed that this assessment was to be pretty common across the board.Atmosphere was decent but not the best - it wasn't quite the place to go for a quiet and intimate meal, but it was perfect for the medium group catching up like we were. The bill came to just over 30 per person including drinks; not surprising but still a bit on the pricey side for what we actually got.So Kazan ends up being an interesting proposition, perhaps for those already in the area, but falls short of a total recommendation - but only because there are already so many other options in London that just about pip it to the post.

The perfect place for a Pre-Theatre meal and authentic Turkish cuisine! Be sure to arrive before 18:30 to try this special menu (£22). Choice of starters and mains and the dessert is a medley of Kazan’s best deserts. Super value, cosy deco and friendly staff.

Our early evening pre-theatre meal was excellent. The restaurant hadn't really got going for the evening so it wasn't as buzzing as usual and service was quite relaxed. Food was good value. Excellent set of mezze with humous being particularly good. I'd go back if in the area.
