Really good place to have a vast array of sweet and savory crepes in a nice ambience and atmosphere with the help of a really nice and friendly staff as well. Highly recommended
Very nice atmosphere at Brixton Village. The waiter was very nice and the service was very quick. I only had a sweet strawberries and cream crepe which was really nice but will definitely go back to try some other.
There’s been many a creperie in my food diary that is this blog, but this is the first one that feels so.. well, Latin. Senzala Creperie first began life as a partnership with The Brick Box arts and community organisation. These days it’s standalone and something about the French-Brazilian pairing of the place just works so delightfully well.
No idea why it has such a low rating! This place is always full and it is not common to be able to sit without queuing.
Good savoury crepes for brunch and sweet crepes for a mid afternoon treat.
I particularly like the smoked salmon and the goat cheese crepes!
They also have nice coffee drinks that are quite unusual! Service is great and you can see the chefs preparing your food.
As summer is fast aproaching the hearty desserts like Jam rolly polly is put to one side and makes why for the lighter while still flavoursome desserts like Crepes and pancakes. I must confess I’m more of team ‘pancake’ than team crepe and for those cynics out there believe me their is a difference.

I visited Senzala for dinner one evening and loved being able to watch the crepes being made! The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes both in terms of toppings and preferred crepe mixture (buckwheat or white).
My goat's cheese crepe had perhaps too much goat's cheese which meant it was a little sickly (although I'd normally never complain about too much filling!) but other than that I was impressed with the amount of filling.
The dessert menu looked delicious too - perhaps a great option for a Sunday Brunch!

However a certain little Brazilian Creperie may have changed the balance in this regard.
Senzala based in the heart of Brixton Market is an inviting small restaraunt with friendly staff and with so many restaurant competing and vying for customers, it is very impressive to see Senzala is always bustling with customers and standing their ground.
What is so impressive about Senzala is the options, it can't be just considered a place you go after a meal for desert, it could easily and most of the time has appealed as a place to go and enjoy a caipirinha or two (which they have a strawberry version, worth a try) and enjoy the many options from tapas to salad to savoury crepes consisting of cheese,Italian sausage and peppers (the godfather) to sweet crepes (sweet sin) grilled banana, Belgian chocolate, splash of rum and ice cream all rolled into one flavoursome dish.
With the option of eating inside or out and staff that will tend to your foody whims it most certainly a place to check out.

I was very happy to discover there was a little creperie in Brixton. I think there is not enough creperie in London, or at least savoury crepe option for Sunday brunch. I guess if I want more creperie I should have not moved across the Channel in the first place.
However, my friend and I both ordered a savoury crepe and a cappuccino. My friend had a Godfather crepe: cheese, Italian pepperoni sausage and jalapeño peppers while I had my first Morning glory :)
I requested an extra topping for mine: cream.
Usually in France I have ham, cheese, egg and cream inside my crepe, unfortunately at Senzala the cream was served on the side and the egg on top - it was a nice presentation but not my ideal crepe.
When the waiter left I rearranged all ingredients inside my crepe.
I am not usually a big coffee drinker, but this cappuccino had the perfect balance between coffee and milk. Easy to drink.
Senzala is a very good address for nice savoury crepe and it was totally affordable, lunch for two was £18.

I cannot describe how smug I was that we secured a table for four, straight away - in Brixton - on a Sunday - at lunchtime - no queuing. Then, two minutes after having sat down at said table, I realised that this was because inside of the cafe was like a SAUNA, and by the time we were finished, I felt so fried, you could have served me up to one of the customers and they wouldn't have batted a eyelid.
I opted for the "healthy" buckwheat vegan rosa squash crepe, and although the red pepper confit and tomato chutney were few and far between, I was happy to rectify this condiment stinginess with the homemade chilli sauce that they had on the table.
Cute atmosphere, decent lunch time portions, but if you're going for dinner, definitely hop on over to Joint or Honest Burger instead to work up a meat-sweat, rather than just a sweat-sweat.
While the crepes at Senzala won't change your world, they are pretty good. Go with a savoury pancake at lunchtime for a filling meal that isn't too heavy or stodgy. And unlike many of the places in Brixton, it doesn't get too congested here. I would recommend going for the buckwheat version when they ask, it's just a little less heavy.
Really excellent crepes
Absolutely one of the best crepes I have ever tried! Once you “Black Orange”, you won't want to eat any other kind. My favorite are “hazel choc” and “coco loco”. I guess they all should be really tasty.
The place looks really enjoyable and there are even seats outside. So, if the weather is good your “food trip” towards crepes will be even more joyful.
One other tip: I advise you do not do anything else while eating them. It's best to sit down, and really savor all the odors and different flavors of each one you try. Sounds silly, but it's the only way to really enjoy them.
Stopped off for some post-Wishbone dessert in the form of Crepes and coffee - I had the Apple D’amour - made up of
homemade caramelized apple and cinnamon, maple syrup, crème fraîche and my only complaint is that it took me a long time to decide to have this particular one as there were so many delicious options on the menu!
The spanish bonbon was way too strong unfortunately and I wish I'd asked for a decaff one (is there such a thing) as I was buzzing from way too much sugar and caffeine all in one small dose.
Great savoury and sweet crepes done the traditional way with amazing flavour combinations to choose from and a great atmosphere within Brixton market
Amazing sweet and savoury crepes, consistently good, high quality ingredients and good value for money. Great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or anytime sweet treats :) great selection of drinks also.
I discovered a little pearl in the village, I loved the food, the whole menu, but unfortunately I can’t eat that much, the waiter was amazing 5 stars service and the food in point. I definitely will come back. ( The only thing I didn’t like was two men talking very loud standing next to our table, that made us feel uncomfortable and watched. )
The meal is larger than I expected. I had the goat cheese and caramelized onions crepe and I wish the onions had more seasoning other than vinegar for a more balanced taste. Otherwise I enjoyed the experience
I came here for a pancake treat. I got the "Wild but Strawberry" sweet pancake and it was amazing! I really enjoyed it. I was served by Ivonete, she was really kind to me :)
Service is quick during quiet hours
Absolutely delicious crepes, super generous with the fillings and I wish I had a photo of the cheese pull within my crepe to show you as it was incredible! Fully recommend
Cozy place, friendly staff (special thanks to Silva and Claudinha) cold UK beer, big and tasty crepes! We ordered salmon, mushrooms, peperoni...and also a just cheese for kids. Perfect dinner with family in Brixton!
French crepes and galettes with a Brazilian flair didn't disappoint. Crispy with great filling choices and the hot sauce is delicious (not too spicy). I'd recommend going for happy hour for the strong cocktails. Quick service and the staff are really friendly too!
The Cocktail was really awesome! We ordered the ham, cheese and mushroom crepe (the cheese was so creamy and melting) and the Senzala special. Definitely recommend those mentioned above.
Very good and tasty galettes and crepes. Unique combination of flavour. They have reinvented the concept of crepes with lovely ingredients. One thing perhaps to get 5 stars would be to improve the texture of the galette (quite hard). Other than that, perfect!

So tasty! Loved my sweet strawberry crepe! The home made lemonade is great as well!
First day open under new covid measures and I headed straight to my favourite local place to eat! Even during lockdown, it was nice to treat myself to takeaways. But nothing beats sitting at one of the outside tables people-watching! The staff, as usual are lovely - nice to see everyone back!! Alessandro has been there throughout but nice to see him smiling and busy serving customers again! The crepes are lovely! The coffee is top notch. But I always have their special Senzela (now Sarava!)salad... and they adjust it to my taste! Nice to see you back guys! You know I’ll be back every week!
