Fantastic traditional pub. Large area inside and plenty of seating including some in the outside alleyway. Great service, very friendly and attentive. Decent selection of beers available. Good atmosphere inside, traditional feel with it being a little dark.
Had a great Sunday lunch, had roast chicken and the pork belly both were great and nice presentations. Oh the roast potatoes were spot on crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
We were here for dinner and had a near perfect experience! We had dinner on the ground floor - which would be the pub. The atmosphere was really nice and it looks good too. Really nicely situated across from the Courts of Justice, which itself is amazing. We had a really nice corner table overlooki
This pub is an absolute gem. The vibe is perfect for so many different occasions whether it’s for after work drinks, a lovely dinner with friends or family, or even as a cute little spot in the dining room upstairs for a splendid date. They even have a cosy private dining room for gatherings which w
A wonderful atmosphere in this lovely old Pub. Food was tasty, service was excellent and very friendly. I will definitely be going back. Great location in the city 👏

The location is fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions. The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals, and the cozy bar is perfect for u
What an absolutely lovely Sunday dinner we had last night. It was extremely busy the restaurant was fully booked but we luckily found a table in the bar. We had very limited choice for what we could order as they had run out of most things on the menu as it was that busy, but we went for the pork be
Great food and service. I loved the dining area upstairs away from the noise pub.
We had the pleasure of enjoying a lunch at The George a couple of days ago. Our server was a mature woman who made us feel like family. EPIC fish (no chips for me) and salad. Great portion sizes and oozing with the atmosphere of a classy historic pub. Highly recommend!!
We booked a table for dinner here. It’s a pub and restaurant. Basically ground floor is the pub and 1st floor is the restaurant. We went there around 6 p.m and bar was completely packed. But restaurant part was very quiet. It is a historical pub. Initially around 500 years ago it was a coffee house.
Perfectly easy going place to stop for a pint with decent beers on tap. Well located and nice old feel about it. Had the Headless Cavalier and it was delicious with just the right colour for my preference. Would make a good session beer. Also had the sausage roll bar snack which was good. Seems b
Food, staff, service and ambience to the highest of standards. We stumbled across this hidden gem on our walk, and more than pleasantly surprised, we established this institution as a Sunday staple. We had both the beef and pork belly Sunday roasts which exceeded our expectations. Succulent, moist,
Sunday Roast was great. Booked in advance. Had a great meal and great ale. Best Vesper martini I have ever had.
Having lived in France for the last 6 years we thought we were accustomed to rare beef but we weren’t expecting raw beef. It was a real shame because the food was tasty, staff friendly and ambience perfect.
We found it by accident but couldn't be happier. Food really nice, service very kind. This was best time for rest we could have wished for.
Great place for a Sunday Roast. The Pork Belly Roast I got was crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, the veggies were cooked to perfection, the potatoes were just crispy enough, and the Yorkshire pudding light and fluffy. Also had a black pudding scotch egg, which was very good and a side
Lovely service and great food. I recommend this place.
