Thursday evening, dinner after work, packed, but they found us a table.
If you like plenty of meat, this is the place to come.
We did have one gripe where the gravy was not edible. It was just too salty. On the positive side, the service was very good considering how busy they were.
The kale and parmesan was a pleasant surprise and I could eat it again. They did not charge us for the gravy.
Awesome food, fab staff!!!!
Four of us booked in advance as it's quite popular specially on a Sunday night but still somehow it didn't feel crowded and I couldn't have asked for a better service from their staff.
The food just blew my mind, we had the "All in- Roast" with lamb, pork and beef, it was cooked to perfection, lovely decorated and plenty meat to share among the four of us, the carrots were caramelized and the Yorkshire pudding felt fresh and soft.
They serve nice cocktails and an amazing white chocolate cheesecake as well.
Anyone who enjoys a good ambiance, service and a Sunday Roast, should definitely give it a try, you won't regret it.
Wow wow wow. We booked quite far in advance for a Sunday roast. The restaurant was busy, and music was a little loud (to be honest it was a little sensory overload) BUT THE ALL IN SUNDAY ROAST WAS TERRIFIC! So glad I came here. It still doesn't beat my favourite (Hunter S pub), it's the closest contender. All in had roast pork, pork crackling, beef, lamb, roast potatoes, carrots and charred cabbage with a HUGE Yorkshire pudding. The gravy was lovely, but might be slightly on the sweet side for some. Service was great, especially Calypso who was an absolute delight.
Update: we went again for dinner on a Thursday evening and ordered the All-In, which includes 3 pre chop bites as a starter and then pork, beef and lamb all perfectly cooked. We also ordered dripping beef chips, broccoli and walnut salad and the Blacklock gravy. Everything was perfect! Highly recommend this place as an all-rounder!
Steaks were amazing! A little fattier than we are used to in the states but fresh and well good. Good prices and plenty of options. The sides were also all very tasty-lots to choose from and the perfect sizes.
Desserts were fantastic-we had the crumble and the white chocolate cheesecake. Can’t go wrong with either one!
I had an amazing time at Blacklock tonight. The food here is absolutely delicious and I love how they do small cuts which are perfect for solo diner like me. Staff was attentive and giving good recommendations. The only thing I didn’t like was the bone marrow. It’s a bit too fatty for my liking. I ended up leaving most of it but I guess it’s not for everyone. Overall very good experience!
Service was above and beyond and so was the ambience. Food was also above average and was served quickly. Cocktails were also decent!
Deducted one star for a very subjective thing: we had a burger and the sauce overpowered the two patties of beef that came with it. Next time I will order sauce on the side instead.
We also had the steak and it went well with the sauce provided. Same with the pighead on toast! Overall I would come back here again and perhaps just do the ALL IN menu instead!
The Meat here is super nice, great taste, tender and juicy!!! And the Fries are extra crispy. The staff is helpful and the service of drinks super good. Are glass was barely empty and there was someone to ask for another drink, exactly how we like it. Maybe other people don't, but this is our kinda service. Will visit again, when in London.
roast dinner was amazing, meats were very well cooked and the gravy was delicious, the potatoes could’ve been a bit better but that’s the only thing I can say! the pig’s head on toast and white chocolate cheesecake are also absolutely delicious. service was brilliant, there was a bit of a mix up with our order and we ended up having to wait ages but the host really made it up to us, would definitely recommend to anyone :)
Great carvery. “All-in” menu option giving you a bit of everything. The rhubarb apple crumble was one of the best I’ve had. Pairing with ice cream was very nice, although, custard would have taken it to the next level. Highly recommend and would happily return.
Amazing food! The cull yaw crumpet was rich and delicious, and the mushrooms on sourdough were perfect. The star of the show had to be the sirloin steak with the Blacklock gravy, which was simply incredible! If you haven't been, go, you won't be disappointed.
