Recommended by an Italian. The gelato was very nice. The pistacchio didn't taste that salty and the salted caramel was not too sweet. The mixture of both flavours was fantastic. They're located in Central London and have won a lot of Great Taste awards!

A must try in London. There are many different flavors which will satisfy every ice cream lover. Moreover it's fresh and is rich in flavor. Also the employees are friendly and helpful when helping you choose the best flavor for oneself. A hidden gem.

They've won many taste award accolades for a reason! Not for the flavour-naive, particularly with such bombshells like the incredible honey, orange and rosemary (a prize winner from 2015), chocolate chilli, basil, rich salted caramel and fennel, mint and orange. Seriously yum!!

We all know Soho as a dining hotspot with so much choice that at times, it takes longer to decide where to eat than the actual meal itself. Recently though, thanks to Jennifer from @chocolatetours, I've also discovered that Soho also has a under-appreciated ice cream scene and I want to take this opportunity to highlight them.

Located in the heart of London, La Gelateria has made a name for itself producing some of the city's finest and most interesting artisan gelato and sorbet; but don't take it from me, the have the Great Taste awards to back it up, regularly collecting plaudits since 2013 with flavours such as honey, rosemary & orange zest and basil & chilli.

It should come as no surprise then when I say La Gelateria is my personal favourite with my love for their peanut butter and caramel number being boarder line obsessive. An absolute must which I strongly recommend.

It's a beautiful day and I don't start work for another couple of weeks. I'm ambling along with my mum who's visiting from India and she absolutely loves gelato!
I saw artisan gelato and a bunch of happy teenagers outside and I had to try it out!
The honey, rosemary and orange zest ice cream is just fantastic! Very unique flavour. Absolutely loved it. I am a bit of a traditionalist and the chocolate cake one is good too. :)
The next time you find yourself admiring Monet and Van Gogh at the National Gallery, Google this place and go!

One of those places that get you to come back often. The artisan icecream is a must have not only by the quality but also due to the creative flavours like lemon and rosemary or chili if you're brave. The choice of cakes, hot chocolate and tasty expreso complements nicely the offering of this cosy place.

Stopped by on a sunny Sunday afternoon -- we hadn't heard about this London gem before, but they clearly deserve the many awards that hang on their walls. I went for the affogato - lovely with the hazelnut ice cream - and my date had a salted caramel cone which was truly amazing.

Bright flavours, nice ambiance and the pleasant sense of a "find" right around the corner from a bustling Covent Garden - what's not to like?

On one of my many wanders around central London I passed by a cute little gelateria called La Gelateria. From the doorway I spotted intriguing flavours with stuff like 'rosemary' and 'balsamic vinegar'. My interest piqued, I put it on the list for a sunny day. And this weekend I deemed sunny enough for ice cream, even though it was only warm when the sun was shining directly on you. So after my umpteenth visit to Wahaca for lunch, I made a beeline for La Gelateria for dessert.  They had your standard vanilla and chocolate and stracciatella (choc chip) but there were enough of the more unusual flavours to make choosing a bit of a chore. I was in the mood for indulgence though so I eschewed the lighter, fresher sounding flavours like basil and chilli or custard cream with lemon zest and went for the black treacle toffee and the tartufo (chocolate truffle).  I can't fault my choices. The treacle toffee was rich and cindery. It wasn't just a posh name for caramel, it really had the treacle

This is a first for No Expert – a post on an Ice Cream Parlour!
I have actually been to lots of Ice Cream Parlours all over the world, including some memorable ones in Italy, Spain, North and South America, Germany, France, Sweden and Denmark – my favourite Ice Cream surprisingly was Goats Milk Ice Cream sold by a street vendor in Kiev of all places, but that’s another story. So why visit La Gelatiera? which is tucked away in a side street close to Covent Garden. Main reason, it’s serious Ice Cream – seriously good. It’s also kind of nice to know that their Ice Cream is rich in vitamins and protein but low in fat (on average 6% – 8% for gelato and 0% for sorbet).

the gelato at la gelatiera is smooth and definitely much creamier than most gelato that i have eaten and there is good reason for that. la gelatiera uses jersey milk from the somerset dairy ivy house farm. alongside the more traditional gelato flavours such as chocolate, hazelnut and crema, la gelatiera has the more unusual sorts like sweet potato and black sesame.

Being an Italian in the UK, I have very high standards for ice cream. Sadly, good ice cream shops are rare but this one is amazing. They have innovative flavours (a Rosemary ice cream even!) but they are delicious. I had hazelnut and dark chocolate and my friend had the Rosemary ice cream. They were both exquisite. Cannot wait to visit again!

Good god this is good gelato. I was intrigued because a friend told me that they make great vegan gelato and, since I don't eat dairy and dearly miss ice-cream, I thought I should check it out.
I had the dark chocolate and it was very rich and the flavour was intense. Inside was warm but the woman who served us was a little short and the music didn't quite fit the mood of the afternoon (rainy and grey) but the gelato was so good I would definitely recommend. They're open til late every night so pop in for an after dinner treat.

I tried two flavours on my visit:-

Basil and Chilli Gelato - WOW - that little kick of chilli is amazing.

Banana Sorbet - so creamy, so much banana flavour, more conventional but no less of a winner than the Basil and Chilli.

I will most definitely be back to try some more flavours.

The Parlour has a modern trendy feel to it, it is quite small and has a glass floor in one corner that enables you to peak into the "laboratory" where the Ice Cream is made. There is seating for about 8 - 10 people inside and a few seats outside. It also specialises in Coffee from Artisan Roasters and has a nice looking selection of Cakes and Pastries. You can even have Ice Cream with your Cake, so what's not to like?

A big highlight of Covent Garden. This small and trendy little gelato cafe that popped up on New Row just off St Martin's lane sure does tick all the trendy boxes. Small but quirky, you can really feel the personal touch of the owners. All the frozen goodness looked very tempting with very unusual flavours. Try the Basil Chili and Chocolate Chili. Wow!!!!! It's worth mentioning that they also have hot chocolate, that comes in three ranges - dark 75% cocoa, milk 58% cocoa and white. They came in lovely tea cup, and it's definitely one of the best hot chocolate I've tasted. Opens pretty late for a Gelato place. Do not miss it for a bit of a treat!

We ate at numerous gelato parlours in London, and La Gelateria came out tops. Their gelato was creamy, and both the pistachio and dark chocolate, our favourite, had intense flavours. You could actually taste the pistachio and dark chocolate. Definitely recommended if one is looking for a good gelato fix.

Another amazing gelato place hidden among the streets of Covent Garden/Leceister Square area. Their option of flavours differentiates them from other shops as an array of chilli infused flavours are available. Dark chocolate with chilli, basil and chilli are some of the options. Definitely a unique take on gelato. My favourite is their rosemary flavour blend, another unconventional flavour profile. 9.3/10, good option if you're looking for something different.

As someone who takes her international vegan gelato research very seriously, I feel confident pronouncing La Gelateria the best that London had to offer. It’s very good indeed, and served by an eternally lovely, patient crew who, without fail, pack the cups and cones like mad. Pictured here: dark chocolate, pistachio, and black currant.

Some of the best Italian ice cream in London! They have so many good flavors with Pistachio being my favorite. I also love the Dark Chocolate and the Salted Caramel. La Gelateria has always been a favorite amongst ice cream lovers in London, so you should definitely try it at least once.

Nice atmosphere, good service and the drinks were as expected. The hot chocolate has the potential to be spectacular - just make sure you read about the different options and their sweetness.

Great choice of desserts. Gelato flavours are amazing. Staff are helpful and get the line moving as fast as possible. I would recommend Sea Salted Caramel, Roasted peanut butter and Sicilian Pistachio here. There are muffins and cookies available off the counter which are worth trying. The place can be easily reached from Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Square.

Excellent artisan ice cream! It's not cheap, a medium portion which has up to three flavors was 5,20£. But we really enjoyed all the flavors. Nocciola was my favourite. It was really velvety creamy with some nutty caramel aromas- delicious!

We have to wait a little time to be able to order as there was one person only in Friday night, but staff was really nice and polite and kept apologies for the waiting. Tried this ice cream for the first time and it was really good, like their lemon and strawberry flavours. The sitting area is cozy and nice. Like that you can have two flavours in the small portion so the price is good and they have baby con which is always a good option for small kids.

Stumbled upon this place during the Pride march. Oh. My. Goodness. The best ice cream I think I’ve ever had. I couldn’t believe my luck with all the vegan options. We had raspberry, pistachio and dark chocolate. Incredible - all three! Will definitely be back 💗

I've said it before and I'll say it again- one of the best gelato places in London. My favourite is the Honey Rosemary with orange zest- The amount of sceptic people I've converted is staggering! Truly great (and sometimes unexpectedly so) selection of flavors. The staff are always courteous, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable as well.

Delicious ice-cream. The flavours are rich and full, with no artificial taste. Reasonably priced, for London, with option of tub or cone. Staff are friendly and helpful.
