Morning breakfast at the grill in Dorchester was an experience
The produce and the attention to detail is worth praising.
Excellent food .. Good service ... Luxury redefined.. Recommended..!! Try the Lobster soup , and the Peppered steak and their signature Salmon. Only concern for we Asians as always - shortage of spices ;) :) 😉. Don't miss this Grill house, Absolutely worth it.
To have a meal at The Grill at The Dorchestor is an experience. It's classy and it's old traditional English restaurant. If you want authentic English cuisine then it is one of the best option in Zone 1.
Yet another day in London trying to sort out wedding stuff. We were at the Dorchester hotel where our wedding reception would be held to discuss with our events manager in detail with regards to a few bits and bobs around the wedding. Our meeting finished at 2pm by which time we were desperately hungry and opted to just dine in the hotel itself. There were of course a few choices at the Dorchester but we were yet to visit the Grill since it reopened.
Someone once told me that people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. My best friend Megan falls into the last category. We were inseparable while at university, but flash forward five years and the real world’s happened. Between work, travel and hectic London life, we now have to pencil in our catch-up weeks in advance.
It does mean that when we do see each other, it merits a long, lazy and elaborate meal… and the new Grill at the Dorchester Hotel fit the bill quite nicely for our most recent chinwag. After all, what better venue for reliving our days at Oggsford than at another timeless institution, reminiscent of old world charm?
Tracing it’s roots back to 1931, the hotel’s iconic restaurant is steeped in an ornate grandeur. The original gold doors and ceilings still have pride of place, alongside contemporary features introduced by interior architect Bruno Moinard – including pivoting wall panels that effortlessly pull off a day-to-night vibe, creating a distinctive appearance at lunch and dinner!
Why do I love hotels so much? No matter how plush they are inside, it's really just four walls made of bricks and mortar just like an other building. But for me a hotel is where you can build some incredible memories, whether it's at home or travelling. When I look back at some of my favourites such as Singita Boulders, Post Ranch Inn and the Four Seasons Chiang Rai, I remember some of the incredible experiences that I had and the amazing time Mr S and I shared together.
PERFECT. After a long flight, a hard day and walk through Hyde Park, dinner at The Grill was the perfect cap to a busy day. The chateaubriand was exceptional and service was brilliant. I'll continue to go back when in London.
The Dorchester Hotel is one the best known establishments in the city, not only in london, but across the world. Opening its doors in 1931 its been at the epitome of luxury both in its interior design, service and of course, food and wine. It has been a home to famous faces who treat it as their second residency and a place where royalty and politicians regularly visit. The car park outside is always full of some of the worlds most expensive super cars - a night here isn't cheap, but you do get what you're paying for, and thats the same with the food. It was the first time we had been to the Dorchester, and an odd place it is. As you walk through the main entrance you're immediately in the lobby which stretches far back into the building and is full of people having afternoon tea, drinks and light snacks - it was full of atmosphere. We sat down, and to our surprise we were quite taken back by the grill’s lavish decor. It had a very strong Scottish influence, adorned with red and green

I had an absolutely lovely time at The Dorchester recently and though I would never have thought to say this about somewhere as associated with the phrase 'hoity toity' as The Dorchester it was a really chilled out, relaxed evening. I've been to a smattering of fancy restaurants around London (One-O-One, Pearl by Jun Tanaka to name a few) and I have never failed to be impressed by the pompousness that drip off the staff like a melting glacier. One-O-One was a particularly horrible experience (lovely food but such bad, bad, BAD service) but I was so horrified at the merciless post that I wrote on it I never got round to publishing it. Why? Because I was racked with guilt (stupid softy that I am sometimes) and because I had such a bad time I didn't think it was a particularly fair piece of writing. But I do stand by the fact that my ev
The Dorchester Grill Room was suitably lavish, though in a particularly idiosyncratic way that might not suit everyone’s taste. Or, indeed, anyone who has taste. Situated adjacent to the main entrance hall filled with people taking afternoon tea, you are
The wood floor has been waxed and is now shining, the tension that announces an important night is floating in the air, some noise emerges from the back of the room as an orchestra warms the strings of a violin. One note, then two, then three… The music
Another week, another trilogy realised: I have now eaten at all of the Dorchester Hotel’s three restaurants. China Tang was long ago now and, bar maybe the best egg-fried rice I have ever had, was rather forgettable. Widely derided Alain Ducasse was a dis

We were invited to a Digital Influencer breakfast to celebrate the relaunch of The Grill at The Dorchester.
Under the culinary guidance of Alain Ducasse, the luxury hotel has selected a brigade of fresh talent led by his protégé, head chef Christophe Marleix to offer a new menu featuring grill favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Christophe Marleix served a selection of small dishes from the menu, including homemade granola, fruit salad, a basket of vienoiseries, bacon and egg, waffle with chocolate sauce, French toast and a perfectly cooked egg benedict on salmon. Everything was divine.
We asked to look at their A la Carte Menu and saw that they also serve five different soufflés for dinner. We’ll definitely come back.
Simply fantastic.
We visited for my girlfriends birthday - just for drinks.
Booking was simple, but on a Thursday evening I would say it wouldn't be necessary.
We were greeted with two complimentary cocktails - absolutely not expected but really appreciated. A very nice touch. The complimentary snacks were also delicious and again, a great touch.
The staff were incredibly good, attentive but not over the top. Refilling your drinks and snacks when they become empty without you even noticing.
The cocktails were good, but not exceptional. Really flavourful but lacked the real "spark" you would expect for the price.
The setting is exceptional with the music at the correct volume and the décor plush and comfortable.
Perfect when you want to push the boat out a little for drinks, but I would say the prices were reasonable all things considered.
Would definitely visit again.
This beautiful art nouveau bar, of a bygone era, with many original features and time reminiscent cocktails. Not cheap, but what nostalgia is!
We arrived in London at 10pm and our hotel restaurant wasn't open, so we knew immediately where to head, The Vesper Bar in The Dorchester. The staff is always top notch and our bartender, Denise was really nice.
I had a delicious petite steak sandwich and my wife truffle pizzette which she talked about for days.
We were so happy to return to this lovely bar!
I love this place became my favorite , amazing cocktails and the staff is very friendly all the time with everyone, you should visit here for a cocktail and classic atmosphere also if you want to be treated .
Unbelievably good cocktails, but they do not come cheap. There are some old favourites that they do exceptionally well then a host of surprises. All served in beautiful glassware and an ample supply of olives and nuts. Service was impeccable. My only criticism - the brown decor. It looks extremely tired and dated, not
expecting modern chic and I can’t place the look but it doesn’t exude old glamour.
We tried the temperance drink “listen to the music ” and “let’s go back to the time”. I would say “music” is nicer, and I can picture a lady with a drink enjoying her night. “go back to the time” the presentation was fun, but not sure it actually brought you the childhood memory, the taste was bit lacking the naughty part.
The Bar staff was amazing. I had 45 minutes to have a complete dinner with dessert to go. They were able to accommodate my request and brought out food within a few minutes. I'd come back for a full dinner any time.
Always excellent with a great atmosphere, superb service and wonderful staff.
Great place and excellent service + exquisite food
Enjoyed an evening with friends down at the Vesper Bar, the renovation is simply stunning and service second to none! We enjoyed a round of Sipsmith Martinis which were absolutely exquisite (a must try in my opinion), we’ll be back soon.
