It is a good restaurant for beef lovers. It has wide range of different cuts with some stages of maturity. Nice environment with a friendly staff. Very good siders!!
My partner treated me to a lovely meal at Goodmans as we had recommendations from various people and it was perfect. We started with lobster tail and tempura prawns which were incredibly tasty. For mains we both had fillet steak cooked to perfection with the tastiest chips we have had. The peppercorn sauce and the spinach and mushrooms sides were lovely. The whole meal was a wonderful taste experience and we can't wait to return. Service was outstanding and there's is a very chilled vibe to the restaurant which we loved.
Ambiance is great. Loved the food and the wide range of available steak choices as well as options for sides m. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. Cocktails are not that great hence the 4 rating. Otherwise it’s a great Resturant for romance and fine dining.
Perfect
location with a gorgeous view over the water, a great setting and perfect ambiance.
They lived up to their reputation as one of the top places to get a steak in
the UK and definitely sat at number one on my visit from South Africa.
My colleague took me here last week and I totally loved this place,. They have the best steaks I have ever had. Menu was small, but really good. Wine list was brilliant. We had New York sirloin steak and it was just perfect, tender and perfectly cooked served with great choice of wine. I would definitely try more of this place and would definitely recommend this to others.
My girlfriend took me here yesterday as I love steaks and this place was one of the best I have ever tried. We had smoked salmon for starter, it was great. For main course I ordered sirloin steak and she ordered rib eye. Both were good in portions, tender, juicy, perfectly cooked and presented along with great wines. Sides were good too. I am definitely going to be a regular here. Definitely recommended by me!
My friend and I went here few days ago and we loved this place. Place was nice, wide and smartly arranged. Staff was attentive and polite. Menu was good, though not extensive. I had herdwick lamb which was great in portions and tasted just amazing. It was perfect. We both ordered same thing and loved it. Food was accompanied along great wines. We did not have any room for deserts but next time for sure. I would love to come back here.
Located in banking central, this is a great steakhouse with excellent service and a good selection of beef! Beef from USA to Australia which are mostly aged in house. They're cooked perfectly to order and have a good selection of sides as well. Although I'd suggest for any steak above 500g be cooked and cut. Service is also first class with tentative and very friendly staff. We also tried their famous lobster roll which was a tad salty but delicious nevertheless. Definatelt recommended, vegans stay away. :P
Finally good restaurants in canary wharf. After discovering the delicious food at Hazev, Good man was the next on the list of to try restaurants before completely giving up on the search for good food around Canary Wharf.
I had read about Goodman's famous burger and lobster roll which were tried during lunch. Burger was a gourmet burger (hence the 15 pound charge) served medium rare sandwiched between a nice buttery brioche bun to compliment the flavour and textures. I tried a bit of my friend's lobster roll which was delicious too however I still preferred my gigantic burger portion served with freshly cut and fried chips. I highly recommend this place for burgers (apart from byron) in canary wharf and from the looks of it they also offer takeaway where the burger is half the price! (at 8 pounds!)
Faultless. Party of 5, we visited on Fri 27th Jan 2012.
Staff were wonderful, and happy to make informed recommendations when asked.
I had calamari for starter before sharing a 700gm on the bone ribeye from O'Sheas. This was helped along by a couple of bottles of 2003 Chateau D'Issan, Margaux.
Sides for the table; lobster tail, glazed carrots, trufe chips, plain chips, green beans, spinach creamed with Gruyere cheese, mac and cheese with truffle sauce and Parmesan.
Sauces for the table; pepper, Bearnaise and Stilton.
Deserts; choc mouse on crisp brownie base - very light and tasty. Cheesecake and sundae was devoured elsewhere at the table. We closed the experience with some fine Corney & Barrow 10yo Tawny Port.
Without exception, everything was fantastic. This dining experience ran to £500 after service charge (wine £100 per bottle).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue, and I'll certainly return.

Goodman indeed lived up to its reputation of delivering some top notch steak, in fact it was easily better than another highly regarded steak joint the Hawksmoor.
I hadn’t eaten soft-shell crab in a few months and this reminded me what I’ve been missing. Very well executed with a Japanese mayonnaise that is a cool, refreshing counterpart to the warm and textured crab.

The time had finally come, the long awaited feast at Goodmans. From the people who brought you burger and lobster, eating a Goodman’s steak was on the hit list. O boy did they rob me dry, but it was every single penny. There were far too many choices, the special black board and menu of Nebraska Angus beef. The waiter did a good job to explain the cuts and how the meat is dry aged on site. She came out with a tray of meat cuts; it had great marbling with raw red pink flesh. My friend and I got greedy and ordered the 400g New York Sirolin cut each.
While the brave stood in line for two hours in Covent Garden for London's latest burger offering, our strategy was somewhat different: go to Goodman. We walked in to the Canary Wharf branch without reservation and without queue, took a nice table alongside the dock and had already decided that we would enjoy one of their burgers which, in terms of pure meat content, must be the classiest burger in London, because it uses the same aged beef as offered in their steak line up.
A great setting, and beautifully lit at night, Goodman's is a must stop for meat lovers. If you really want to enjoy your experience to the full I suggest you splash out and go for the steak. Goodman's has carved out quite a reputation on its steak alone and it's for good reason.
Those a little more prudent may wish to order the Goodman burger. It doesn't quite have the same charm as the steak, but you won't be complaining as the meat is still extremely succulent and for a much more affordable price. The hand cut chips are also a must in the side order department.
The seating arrangement is smart and has a hint of American steak house about it. My word of warning would be that Goodman does also attract a bit of a 'pint after work' crowd, so if you want to enjoy the experience to the full, I advise you dine a little later. The bill can also rack up very fast, so make sure you know what you're getting in for.
Great steak restaurant with friendly staffs who are very knowledgable about beef they have. My posted picture is the non-beef photo but it proves me that all food here is good, even the desserts are so mouth watering and irresistible even your tummy is full...LoL. Do order their creamed spinach as your side. You will be asking for more...and my fave sauce is the bearnaise.
The time had finally come, the long awaited feast at Goodmans. From the people who brought you burger and lobster, eating a Goodman’s steak was on the hit list.
O boy did they rob me dry, but it was every single penny. To be brutally honest, steaks never appealed to me, when I’m out for dinner I steer away from them. However, Goodman’s is often raved by foodies and was the place for a good piece of meat. There were far too many choices, the special blackboard and menu of Nebraska Angus beef. The waiter did a good job to explain the cuts and how the meat is dry aged on site. She came out with a tray of meat cuts; it had great marbling with raw red pink flesh.
My friend and I got greedy and ordered the 400g New York Sirolin cut each. Adding truffle chips and lobster mac and cheese for our sides. We got all three sauces at no extra cost.
Wow, the steak dazzled, still sizzling from the charcoal oven. The meat was perfectly cooked with juice ready to drip on the plate. On its own the meat was smoky and flavoursome and slightly metallic. Amalgams of flavours were turned as soon as I added the garlic butter, and Stilton sauces, total heaven in the mouth.
The truffle chips, were fluffy inside great smoky flavour. The mac and cheese also delivered rich creamy indulgent. We struggled to finish everything a first, next time we would order a steak between us.
I think we spent £50-60 each; I give it high ratings for decent steakhouse in London. Overlooking the River Thames, in the Canary Wharf area makes a perfect date night or an intimate meal.
This is an absolute paradise for meat eaters. A couple of whiskeys at the bar and you are ready to rock and roll!
I believe the best way to enjoy steak dinner is to have a light early lunch to build up the appetite for the kill. You can go for bigger cuts of the day, but I prefer the Goodman rib-eye, which is just about enough for me. Compared to other steak houses, the choice of other meat is limited so I wouldn't be bothered to go here if it is not for steak.
The whiskey collection at the bar is enviable and you can get one from the usual to the rare. I prefer this place if everyone in the group is keen on steaks. If there are some outliers then Boisdale is better as there are other dishes to choose from.
We dined here on a Sunday night, thus restaurant using the Sunday menu (limited, but we thought was good enough). We were greeted and seated inside promptly.
Great ambiance inside the restaurant, nicely decorated, to match the steak house theme.
Our server was attentive, professional, and cordial. The Manager stopped by our table to check on us, nice touch!
My Aviation Martini was perfect!
I ordered the USDA Fillet thinking more of Fillet Mignon, but to me was more of a sirloin. It was well prepared, as ordered, but not of the consistency I was expecting.
For side dish, the Mac & Cheese was yummy.
Not sure if I will patronize this establishment again just because the dining experience was good but not exceptional, and given that there are so many other restaurants to try in Canary Wharf.
Amazing service here. Above and beyond. Can’t remember our server’s name but he was Greek. He came out patiently explained all the cuts and choices. Delicious steak and sides. Our sons did not have steak like we did (a small filet and large bone in aged rib eye) but they enjoyed the Mac and cheese and tuna. Desserts were fantastic— not overly sweet.
Lovely, stylish restaurant with great river views. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Steaks were pricey but delicious, the best in town. The desserts were also special. We had the Chocolate ice cream Sundae and Petit Fours.
Close call between a 4 and a 5 star.
Steak is exceptional, and given that is the most important criteria here, I'll go for a 5. Surprisingly affordable wine (in the scheme of things), good IPA, mostly very good roast dinner - though gravy very bland.
Definitely worth a visit, I will be back to a Goodman for a proper steak experience.
Me and my family had a very great dinner at this restaurant. Also, it was not only a great meal it was also informative! The scallop appetizer was delicious. Our family all had the Scottish Filet, and man was it good! Our family ate all of our entrees. Tip: Cut against the grain. Our sides were asparagus and hand cut chips. The asparagus was very flavorful, and the hand cut chips were very scrumptious. For desert I had a decaf coffee and the rest of my family had ice cream. Now the service, our waiter (Alex) was polite and kind especially to our daughter telling her how she should cut her food. They also explained what there food on their menu was very throughly. The vibe of the place was pleasant. They had a meat board that had all the meat on the menu and their style. They explained each very throughly as well making sure the customers understand.
Lovely experience! We were blown away by the food & Alex our waiter was friendly, professional & very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Great service and bigger than the Mayfair one! I went with a clear idea of what I was having, but the waitress tried to recommend me better options, which I have tried before, that's why I stayed with what I had decided from before. My honest pleasure to Mandy, she was always paying attention to any detail and neccesity around and giving the best explanations ! quick service, it surprised me as when we finish our small chat the food was already in the table.
Great wine selection, location and cuts! :)
Will be soon there, if not this week !
Pd: The sides are missing beef dripping fries!
Loved it. Steak is a bit pricey especially seeing as I ordered the prime usda ribeye but I had an excellent experience overall. The steak, the sauces and even the mac and cheese were top notch. Only small complaint is my daughter spilled half my wife's mocktail and the waiter replaced it seemingly on the house but we got charged for it! No big deal and am sure he would have corrected had we raised it.
Edit: went back for my bday yesterday and it was still excellent even though they didn't have the USDA option available.
Visited Goodman for a business lunch, from the waiter to all the staff the visit was superb. Our waiter was fantastic, he explained all the cuts of the meat and what he would recommend. My colleague prefers sirloin they beautifully butterflied this steak (as he prefers well done) my t-bone was great , cooked really well. The triple cooked chips were to die for. I’ll definitely be back there again
The food at Goodmans is outstanding. It’s our second trip in a matter of weeks. This time or table was for 8:30pm and after taking some time to choose and order food, we didn’t start our mains until around 9:40pm. Our waiter Alex was amazing, he looked after us and gave us good information on choice of meats and enjoyed talking to us about wine pairings. We couldn’t ask for more food and service wise. However, we did start to feel a little uncomfortable and like we were being rushed out when it came to their closing time (10:30pm) The lighting changed, the music was turned off and we hadn’t even finished our desert - this really did make the evening feel cut short and whilst we appreciate they have a closing time, being made to be felt like we had outstayed our welcome wasn’t great.
