Not sure if this place still needs a review at all but it was the best food I've had in London so far! Travelling here for 2 weeks and I know Flat Iron is a must try. Decided to go to the one in Covent Garden because they give you free Ice Cream afterwards!
I loved everything I ordered. The medium well steak was beautifully seasoned, the chips, salad, and the cream spinach was wonderful too. I would love to come back here again in the future. The ice cream served with shaved chocolates was also super bomb.

They will make you wait, but the wait will be worth it. .. Steak lovers , this is your go to place for affordable steaks in London. Just go and enjoy it and walkout feeling so fab about paying so little for such an amazing quality of food.
Damn i like it. Waited for 45 minute to get a seat. But at the end it was worth it. Juicy medium meat perfectly cooked, paired with a glass of house wine. Got free ice cream after for my lunch, taste good on rainy business as usual london weather

Pretty simple menu but done right. Would recommend for lunch, and I like this location as it's close to Covent Garden and lots of cool walkable places around.
I kept it simple and went with the Flatiron steak and house salad, and added the peppercorn sauce, and the ginger beer.
Had the weather been warmer today / not raining, I would have gotten the sundae. But will leave it for next time.
I was not expecting such a nice restaurant with affordable prices right next to Convent Garden. The steak comes with a salad on the side. We were extremely well received and at the end they offered us an ice cream cone with chocolate on top. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
The steaks are well cooked and the burgers are juicy. Good selection of sides. Service is good. Dinner ends with a great salted caramel ice cream.
The wait here could be for literally hours! The meat is worth it though and a must-try for every steak lover out there. Portions are not too generous though and food takes a long time to arrive. But nevertheless still recommended.

As meat eaters, we need to order another helping of meat. Wasnāt enough for us. I would say the meat size is about 250-280g sort. It is a Ā£10 steak! Definitely mega reasonable price for such quality.
We ordered it medium doneness and 1 of them came out medium well. Surprisingly itās not dry at all. It was still juicy.
Minion portion for side dish but they were delicious!

Iām questioning myself. As to why this is the first time Iāve made it here. We didnāt have to wait for a table (which can be a common occurrence, and I can see why) simple steak done well. As the name says, flat iron, served medium rare, for Ā£10. Add on sauces and sides for Ā£1-Ā£4. The dripping chips were so good, and so bad - as in thatās my calorie limit for the week. And we thought weād order some greens to try stay healthy. The steaks came quickly and service was great. And to top it all off, you get free ice cream on the way out, salted caramel with chocolate flakes.
Have been here twice now- the steaks are juicy, delicious and also affordable. The accompanying salad is a nice fresh touch and the chips are very crispy. Also recommend the house made fizz- really enjoyed my lime and mint drink! My only qualms would be that the quality of the steaks I had on my recent visit varied a lot with the one my partner had, but they were both still delicious and we will certainly be back.

Nestled in Henrietta street in Covent Garden, is one of the five Flat Iron restaurants, the brainchild of Charlie Carroll who had a simple mission ā to serve quality but affordable steak.
The flat iron steak is the most incredible steak Iāve ever tasted! This restaurant has an amazing quality food and service. For the sides I personally recommend āTodayās greens marketā.
The waiters are very friendly and in the end they offer an caramel ice cream.

For an impromptu dinner with friends, we visited the Flat Iron past Monday. The place was very busy, so we were given a 1h10min waiting time (ended up being less than 45min, for 4 people). The signature dish is the steak, a delicious and superbly cooked piece of tender meat. For the price tag, it's a good deal. The chips, on the side, have flavour and gpod crunch to them, not feeling oily or soggy. The cherry of top of the cake for this meal was being treated to a complementary salted caramel and chocolate sprinkles ice cream. I'd easily go back just for the ice cream. The staff that hosted us were very friendly, gave good suggestions, eland explaining the cut of the meat in a way that even I understood it. My advice would be to have a reservation (I don't know if they do them via phone) and had some pre drinks bedore dinner.
We went for lunch. We queued just before 12 midday. It looked like staff were getting a pep talk prior to opening which I thought was great. The menu was simple , the service was good and the steak delicious. There are no desserts or coffee but we were given a token which allowed you to have a tasty ice cream cone covered in shaved chocolate. Yummy and a great novel idea. Definitely will go back.

My preferred Flat Iron outlet: you get to leave your phone number for them to call/text you when the table's ready. No need to wait while getting yourself soaking wet or cold outside. They kind of having the steak cooked to one step above the usual so I'd have mine served medium (somehow tasted a little like medium well).
Sauce: Bearnaise is my top choice
Side: Creamy Spinach. Order one as a side for 2-3 people, though it depends on how much appetite you have at the time.
At the end of dining last weekend (22/4), we were given tokens to be exchanged with a scoop of iced cream before leaving. It's salted caramel with cocoa drizzle. So heavenly goood...

Great value for money. Steak was perfectly cooked and sides really tasty. Complimentary ice cream at the end is also a great touch. Will definitely be back again.
This place is simply amazing, the flat iron steak is so so good!! The staff is so cool and nice and at the end of the meal they give you a rather cool surprise!

Personally think that somehow the one in Soho (Beak Street) tastes juicier, more tender, and richer in flavour. But it's still great though! Love the creamed spinach and peppercorn sauce as well.
Lovely meal! The steak was really tasty and the sides were also good. I tried the spinach, the cabbage (vegetable of the day) and the blue cheese salad. Nice decor downstairs. Will definitely go back.
Went to this place in July with my brother and sister in law and found the place to be amazing in every aspect.
I understand that it was kinda of a new concept but rapidly expanding through out London.
For just 10Ā£ the steak for lunch beats any options in London hands down.
Love this place and went back to it several times since I found out about it.

What's not to love? Great value for money if you're a steak lover and would like to eat it often! The dripping cook chips are incredible and I've never had a better BĆ©arnaise in my life. This outlet is rather spacious, I went a couple of times and never waited over 10 mins. The free ice cream is the icing on the cake, for it's remarkably delicious (I'm not the biggest fan of ice cream). The staff are friendly and courteous. I'll be back (duh).
Just as tasty as the other Flat Iron locations, but plenty more space! Plus you get a free salted caramel ice cream after! Be aware that the queue gets a bit nuts on the weekend with 1.5 hour waits, but you really can't argue with that price!
We went there for early dinner before west-end performance, so there was no queue. But if you come even a bit later, say even around 6, the queue will be quite a handful.
Upon arriving on your table, they will give you their beef dripping popcorn, i found my very salty, not sure whether it was only my batch or its their ad per usual one.
Food served quite quickly, not a big fan of the sauce so i would rather just skipped it next time.
After you settled the bill they will give you some poker coins, that you can exchange for a salted caramel ice cream upon your exit. And it was delish!

Flat IronĀ is one of those places that practically every meat-eating human in the London area is banging on about. The cheap steak offered just seemed a little too good to be true, and Iād heard about long queues to get in, so Iād put it off for a while. We finally decided to take the plunge a couple of weeks ago ā and it came abundantly clear what the fuss is all about.
Cool place, good meat and sides. Some portions are smaller than they should. They give you an ice cream at the end and you end up leaving the place very satisfied. Not overpriced. Recommended!

On another visit to Flat Iron, I was aiming to try their daily special's burger. The burger is a bearnaise sauce burger. Bearnaise sauce is one perfect pairing sauce with steak but Iāve never had it in a burger before. I saw a picture of it on Flat Ironās twitter and it just looked so incredibly luscious. Itās such a mouth-watering scene to see that beef patty being covered with the ravishing bearnaise sauce and sitting in between a brioche bun.
So, a pub-like ambient, long canteen-like tables where you and your friends seat along-side and in front of each other! As you sit the waiter brings glass bottles of fresh cold water.
Really nice steak, served on a wood and rock plate. Choose your side dish (fried chips, vegetables,...), and your sauce! All nicely served along with a cup of water cress!
To drink you can choose trough a bunch of beers, cocktails or fizzlers! Different combinations of unusual fresh ingredients.
To top it all up offer a nice caramel salted ice cream for each meat meal!
The staff, always concerned, always nice and with a smile!

Flat Iron was part of LondonāsĀ first wave of ārestaurants that served you one thingā. The original on BeakĀ street had long queues outside for ages (because who can say ānoā to a Ā£10 steak) but I heard that the new branch on Henrietta Street was much bigger (ergo less queue?!?!?) so I popped over for a steak, chips, salad and a glass of wine (your standard steakĀ dinner).
The flat iron steak is delicious with high quality of meat, and the ice cream in the end of the meal is a big plus. The menu is simple and easy to decide, and the beverage selections are also great.
Loved to discover this gem in a bustling Covent Garden area. The food was good, but the service was exceptionally good, very chilled and friendly. You can absolutely tell theyāre passionate about their meat! You also get a complementary ice-cream once you finish your meal, whatās not to love about that!
Had a great meal here when visiting London for the day from Manchester. Great food at incredible prices considering the location. Fabulous steak. Mash was a highlight. Excited to visit again when you open in Manchester later this year!

Service is excellent, from entrance to table service. I want to highlight that Atash has taken great care of us with a smile and a lot of patience. He made our day perfect.
On entry, a free pop-corn is offered while choosing your menu.
The menu is excellent and based exclusively on meat. The meat is perfectly cooked and the table presentation is also very nice.
Frites are also very tasty and crunchy so you can't stop eating them too.
When going out, there's a free ice-cream offered by the restaurant, which is like a cherry on the cake.
Highly recommended!!

I have been to Flat Iron numerous times over the last 7 years or so and food and service is consistently good. Everything is delicious from the free popcorn to the steak. Very good value for money and the free ice cream you get at the Covent Garden branch is a nice touch. The only down side is the wait, it can be extremely long (on a number of occasions it was 2 hrs plus). They take your number down and text you when your table is ready and so unless you're extremely hungry or pushed for time it's not too bad as there are loads of places nearby where you can grab a drink.

Visited here a couple of times and it does not disappoint.
Most recently we did not book a table on a Saturday evening as this was a last minute decision. The website stated the restaurant was fully booked, however some tables are held back for walk-ins. We arrived at 8pm and were told there was an hour wait for a table. Fine, we thought, we don't need another excuse to try a local pub! A pint of London Pride and 40 minutes later we received a text saying our table was available.
Once seated we were explained the menu, as well as chef's recommendations and specials - including wagyu steak.
The knowledgeable waiter was able to advise us on how best to have the steak cooked depending on the cut, as well as the recommended wine pairing.
The steak, sides and sauces promptly arrived and were cooked exactly as requested. As expected the steaks were excellent, especially the Flat Iron Steak, which seemed to be a popular choice. I would recommend the crispy bone marrow mash, which is smooth, creamy and probably the best mash I have ever tasted. I would also suggest getting a couple of side salads to share for the table.
With clear plates and full stomachs we were more than happy to pay the discretionary service charge added to the bill.
I will however note there are very limited options for vegetarian/vegans as it looked like only one of the sides - the roasted aubergine - could be optioned as a main.
Staff were friendly and food was excellent. I very much recommend and look forward to visiting again. The free ice cream is also a lovely gesture.
Whole experience was fab here, we didnāt pre-book so we had to wait for 45 minutes but they will text you when there is a table free or you can sit at the bar and have a drink while you wait. Cocktails were amazing! And the free popcorn and free ice cream at the end is a lovely touch, the steak and chips were unreal, we also got the mash which was lovely too but we were so full we barely ate it! Only ONE thing Iād say: the playlist choice was not matching the vibe. They were playing a bunch of pop american music which is fun it just didnāt really match the whole experience for me. (But donāt get me wrong Iād still come back)
Went on Sunday for lunch, very enjoyable, steaks, chips, sides all delicious and fantastic service from the team, special thanks to Georgia who looked after us. Topped off by the complementary ice cream cone when we left. We will return!

Their steak is delicious, juicy, and made it accordingly to our request (Medium). Not to mention, the free popcorn and complimentary ice cream which were very delicious in this one šÆš. The sides are also delicious, chips - creamy spinach - macaroni truffles.
Booking is highly recommended as it was crowded and lots of people waiting to get an empty table (dinner time). We had reserved and straightly went to the table. Also, the staffs were very friendly šÆ!
