Amazing place in London. Good value, excellent dining. I'm always rather hesitant at trying special offer set course dinners at fancy restaurants as the 'value' set menu is often limited and uninspiring. This is not the case at Orrery. The special Toptable menu has three or four choices per course and good options for vegetarians.

My fiancée and I went to The orrery to celebrate my new job. Is a fine dining restaurant that gives an insight of the French cuisine. We had the food and wine set menu. Staff amazing, sommelier explained us all the wine properties and why where matched with the food flavours, our meals where wonderful and pleased to see as the same way as they where flavoured. Chef reserved us a special treat not in menu (salmon tartar with quail egg) knowing that we where celebrating an important day! I personally advice as a dessert the white chocolate parfaits with handmade white peach ice cream!!!

I've been to a fair few Marylebone restaurants lately. I work in the area and it's so full of amazing restaurants, I'm slowly trying to work my way through them all! There are quite a few that I've been to but haven't written about on here yet, but you can see a roundup over on my guest post for Culture Trip.

Doesn't excite me. I've been here a few times, but only as a guest . The reason for that is I never want to go on my own steam. I think it's the room. It's long and narrow and lacking atmosphere. There's nothing wrong with the food – it's competent and appropriate and I can see why it gained its Michelin star but I think there are many more exciting venues in the vicinity. It is a good place for a business lunch though, because it's so anodyne and safe.

My friends and I were treated to a delightful amuse bouche of vibrant gazpacho to kick things off. For starters, I opted for seafood raviolo which was the highlight of the meal - bathed in a glorious flavoursome lobster bisque. The beef fillet with wild mushrooms and celeriac puree was perfectly cooked, tender and a good sized portion. Unfortunately, the strawberry pavlova was an average end to what was a hugely enjoyable meal. The wines are pricey though but there is a good selection.
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend.

7 /10 Simple good food with great service!. I went there for my friend's wedding . We had three course meal on Saturday afternoon. The food was simple taste (in good way), Good amount of food, Good balanced flavor ,not overpowering . I quite like the food from there. It's a french resturant, but It's more like towards Italian. The restaurant is very nice and airy. I really like the big windows.
The service was very professional and perfect . It was good dinning experience.
The restaurant has a roof terrace. If the weather is nice,I recommend to go there for drink.
It's good for dating and for special meal and professional business lunch or dinner.
Highly recommend!

It was Annie who suggested we went to The Orrery last night; she’s seen an offer on OpenTable – three courses for £30. I’ve eaten many times at their cafe, Orrery Epicerie (seen far right with green awning in photo above), which is fantastic, but never in the restaurant.

Shall we go to The Orrery? Lovely , I hear myself saying. Do we have to?  says my heart. I’ve been here at least five times, but I’ve never booked it myself and given that it’s an obvious choice for a bit of client-related  fine daining  I wanted to think about why that is.

When my friend mentioned having lunch at Orrery, a Michelin-star restaurant on Marylebone High Street; I originally misheard the name and thought he said we were at going to eat at ‘Ovary’. Seeing my bemused look, my friend then spelled out the name but I was none the wiser to what Orrery meant.

Turns out, Orrey is a mechanical model of the solar system named after Charles Boyle, Fourth Earl of Orrery (1676 – 1731). The actual model on display at the restaurant is on loan from the Greenwich museum.

In additional to our visit being rather edifying, the food was flawless. We opted for their set lunch 3 course menu of £30 which was excellent value for money. We started with a cute little amuse bouche and then had the starters of seafood ravioli in a lobster bisque and a chicken liver parfait with onion chutney which were just stunningly presented and tasted amazing. The mains didn’t disappoint either: Salmon with fennel, citrus and a coriander dressing and Daube de boeuf en croute – a rich beef stew covered in puff pastry. For dessert, we chose a selection of cheese from the trolley and a Lemon tart with a raspberry sorbet.

With dishes cooked to perfection and served with such flair, you can totally see why they have a Michelin star. The only downside for me was the atmosphere or rather the lack of it. To be fair, we were there for Sunday lunch which was a rather quiet time of day. The layout of room is unusual as well. It’s a long rectangular room with large arched windows on one side looking out onto the Marylebone Church Gardens. Perhaps it does liven up in the evenings for dinner but sedate atmosphere or not, I can’t deny their set menu is an absolute steal for what they offer and well worth a visit.

The Orrery is a french restaurant located in the popular Marylebone High Street and close to Baker Street and Regents Park Tube Stations.
What is likely for this place- amazing meals, marvelous French cuisine and experienced  Friendly and Nice staff!
I went there in my lunch break after university and stayed impressed from their amazing menu. I had the Beetroot soup and the Beef fillet fillet tails, braised shin and wild mushrooms as a started and main meal and for my dessert I had Apple tart with vanilla ice cream!
Great venue I am totally recommending it!

Apart from the restaurant itself, there is also Orrery Cafe which I have experienced. Quite cosy, away from the hustle and traffic of Marylebone street, Orrery Cafe is the perfect escape.

It is 10 min away from Baker street tube station with outdoor seating, situated on the angle of two quiet streets.

The cafe in comparison to the restaurant is quite cheap. My favourite dish would be the shared plate with 4 different salads which you can choose, costing only around £10 for two people.

I like the cafe as it is quite convenient, affordable and serves great food.

This is the second time I have dined here - the first time was upstairs on the terrace in the sun which was fantastic. This time we were in the more formal restaurant which was superb. The staff are attentive and intuitive without being intrusive and the food was exquisite. Perfect for entertaining clients and an excellent, broad menu and wine list.
Highly recommended.

Visiting the Orrery was a once in a lifetime experience (for myself and my partner), and it took a discount voucher on top of another offer so that we could afford it! The staff are excellent. From when we arrived to when we left, they could not have been more attentive and informative and worked hard to make it a special occasion. We had the five course taster menu, and when they realised it was through a voucher the menu was taken from us to be replaced by an A5 piece of paper with the menu on which actually had the name of the discount voucher on it. "Hey everyone, look at us, we've not got the big menu. We have a piece of paper because we are not paying full price." Of the five courses, only the dessert stands out - elderflower pannacota with strawberry jelly, a real treat. The slithers of cheese with minute crackers were excellent. The beef should have been the highlight but unfortunately failed to live up to expectation. We enjoyed and appreciated the commentary given with each wine course. Again, we can not fault the staff. The techniques on each course demonstrated the skills of the chef. Unfortunately, the flavours did not match the obvious talent. It may have been that our expectations were too high. Other guests were certainly enjoying their meals.

I was told by clients that The Orrery was a must visit. After having dinner here the other night I can see why the advice I should check it out myself. Everything from the layout of the restaurant to the great staff made for a pleasant evening. The food of course was great and it's a place I will come back no doubt in the future.

Orrery, one of the best restaurants in London for service, made everything right after a terrible experience I had before arriving there, especially on my birthday. Upon entering Orrery, all my worries and concerns were instantly put to rest. From start to finish, their attentive consideration and care for details made me feel extremely at ease. Even when I wanted to pour myself a glass of water, the staff couldn't bear to see such a scene, as they were willing to provide all the assistance within their capabilities. Their service moved me deeply and completely healed my frustrated soul. I must admit that the extra touch of their birthday wishes at the end was a huge plus.

Orrery is the epitome of French culinary brilliance in the heart of London. Each dish is a symphony of flavors, a testament to the mastery of the Ukrainian chef who expertly weaves magic on the plate. Beyond the food, what makes Orrery a standout is the warmth radiating from every corner of the establishment. The sommelier, in particular, is a beacon of affability and knowledge, effortlessly enhancing the dining experience. If you're on the hunt for the finest French fare in London, Orrery is an unmissable destination.

Orrery, as the name suggests, simply put, is out of this world! From the moment you walk through the door, its calm, simple ambiance and friendly, competent staff come in to play, to compliment the overall experience of dining there. The beautifully presented food, does well to tease the eye, before the magically conjoured taste sensations wow the palate! Orrery's wine list is both extensive and reasonabley priced and their young sommelier certainly knows his stuff! Ours was a wine club luncheon and his vaste knowledge impressed even our most discerning members. The level of service to our large table of twelve, was superb. We had a set menu, with three shoices of starter, main and dessert. We'll definitely be back before the sun does another orbit round the earth! Thank you Orrery! Axxx

Delightful place for a spot of food in Marylebone. The venue is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating and staff friendly. Only criticism is value for money for equivalent restaurants in the area. The prices are Michelin starred however they aren't there yet with the food.

Beautiful setting, good service and variety of menus to choose from. All the dishes we had were nice except the turbot was under seasoned and tasted sweet with the pear. It’s a bit of a shame because the fish itself was cooked perfectly. Plenty of drinks to choose from and the desserts were all nicely presented. Would definitely go back again!

I was recommended this place via the Michelin guide and the experience itself was pretty good. I think the overall experience would definitely improve if the weather was better as it was 30°C and there was no air conditioning at all. We were seated upstairs and we thought it would be cooler but we were incubating in the sun the whole meal. We all got a 2 course meal with 2 sides. In the attached pictures you'll see that we picked the starters, soya marinated salmon, chicken parfait, and lobster raviolo. For the mains we picked, chicken breast, salmon fillet, and the beef wellington. The starters all had a pretty strong salty taste to them that we might not be that used to but the mains were absolutely delicious. We had a bad experience with the lobster raviolo as we found multiple shell pieces. The chicken breast was tender and nicely cooked, the salmon was juicy and the puree complimented it well, the beef wellington honestly had such good flavor just by itself without the puree but with it added it was phenomenal. Another thing we noticed is that the menu shown online is actually different from the menu that we saw in the restaurant so the online version will probably need an update so people can look ahead into what they can order.

Excellent food and Gallic service. There was an attempt at the table to flog us another bottle of wine, which was a bit of a cheek. However. not over priced and good food. Roof terrace was where I was and so can't comment on the 1st floor. No lift access to upper reaches, which wasn't great for one of my friends. Not for children IMHO

Food is really good. 3 course meal at £60. Wide range of choice on wine list. Service is ok. You can have a drink before meal at the bar. Nicely decorated restaurant with non-pretentious service. Food 9/10, service 8/10, ambience 9/10, value for money 8/10. Excellent French restaurant.

Truely lovely experience with fantastic food and service, with dinner starting at two courses £55 and three at £66 it’s not cheap, but loved the amuse bouche and fresh bread to start (included in price). Great for special occasions.
