This restaurant holds particular significance for me because it’s the first ever Michelin starred establishment that I had a the pleasure to dine in. The start of things to come you might say. So why Chez Bruce all the way out in Wandsworth? Well, blame Marco Pierre White for that one. Marco of course made his name on the very site that the restaurant stands at today. Of course back then it was named ‘Harveys’ and went on to achieve two Michelin stars before White moved to The Oak Room at The Hyde Park Hotel and became the youngest chef in the world, at that time, to win the maximum of three stars. Sentiment was one reason but pricing and quality was another. £29 ($37.46 US) for three courses on a Saturday lunchtime seemed like a brilliant deal plus the menu was actually varied and interesting stacked with attractive dishes. The chef and owner Bruce Poole brought out a book not long after our visit and it’s one of my most prized. Please Please click on the picture and purchase it – you’ll thank me!

Well done Chez Bruce, once again the best meal I’ve eaten out, everything simply sensational, I wish i had had a portion of the chocolate salted caramel tart to myself. I have been there numerous times and never thought it could get better Brilliant

Only ate at Chez Bruce because our original anniversary dinner choice (Thames river cruise) was cancelled at short notice, after we had already booked our hotel: in Wandsworth. So instead of cancelling whole trip to London, I decided to try CB and see if they could fit us in as they were only about 30 minute walk from our hotel. It being a Tuesday night they could fir the two of us in. I have Bruce Poole’s cookbook so was very excited to try the restaurant and the food was really good. Very similar to La Trompette in Chiswick and I think they share ownership. My starter of Enoki mushroom salad with romaine, rump and Comte was tremendous. My cousin also thought her mackerel rillettes were first class. We differed on our mains; I choose the grouse which was again superb. My cousin complained that her pork loin dish had too much meat and not enough of anything else. She was back on board with the dessert of white chocolate rum and raisin ice cream. I had the cheeseboard which was good but I have had better. Good wine list, with some decent value half bottles. However, the bottle of Pomerol I ordered wasn’t available but the sommelier suggested an alternative, cheaper bottle which was very good. Bread was very nice. Service was ok, not great. There was some stretching in front of us to pour wine, take plates which both my cousin and I were annoyed by. But this small gripe aside, I thought £200 excluding wine was pretty good value.

A wonderful night off fine dining. Service was the best memory of the night. I thoroughly enjoyed the bread and biscuit board and the mains and dessert. Would have chosen an alternative to the Greek starter, simply as there was yogurt and a very strong sauce with an otherwise fantastic spinach-cheese pastry. Excellent food. Wonderful ambience Highly recommended

Exhaustion has overtaken my body and brain. Three weeks into a new job after having been a lady of leisure since Christmas, the 9 – 5.30-ish grind sandwiched between one hour commutes is a shock to the system. I’d be lying if I said there hasn’t been at least five minutes in every day where I’ve yearned to have my funemployment lifestyle back… No morning alarms, cups of tea in bed while I indulged in my morning dose of social media, then the rest of the day to do as I pleased; living the dream!

Ta dah! Here it is, my birthday! The big one, the one with the zero in it, the one that unceremoniously catapults me from elegant middle age to the murky depths of senior citizenship. I might now be represented by that Emoji icon we all have on our phones of the little old lady with a grey bun and, right on cue, early next year I am indeed expecting my first grandchild. I’ll be a real proper glammy, oh sorry, I meant granny.

There is, I am told an unspoken rivalry between locals as to which is best, Trinity, Clapham or Chez Bruce, Wandsworth. My companion J, is very definitely Team Trinity and I sense that he is not entirely comfortable on enemy ground. J has form in this building though, as Chez Bruce is on the site of the legendary Harvey’s, where Marco Pierre White forged his unrivalled reputation as the original bad-boy chef. J worked with Marco on his autobiography, The Devil in the Kitchen. He shares with me a particularly marvellous story involving stairs, sex, roof-climbing and a husband who had to wait rather too long for his wife to return from the “Ladies Room,” which served as the nickname for Marco’s then office.  Rather apt, in the circumstances.

Chez Bruce is a cute Michelin starred restaurant in Wandsworth. Their three course set menu for £49.50 is really good value for the quality of the food. The vibe is not buzzy or cool but more quaint and a good place to take parents when they visit.....

Starting with cocoa and chorizo soup with delicious garlic croutons, followed by a pork medley and finished by a boozy deconstructed coffee cake, the set menu at the famous chez Bruce is one to be savoured. The staff, atmosphere, service and food are all top of the line and at only £35, there is real value to be had for a weekend lunch which will have you rolling through the common in an attempt to walk it off!

I went here with my wife for our anniversary dinner and I was glad I made the right choice. Staff was welcoming. Place had wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. I loved the ambience and the fact that staff was really attentive and polite. Menu was good but the wine list was amazing. We had grilled mackerel and rare grilled tuna as starters. Both items were delicious. For mains we had wild sea trout and Cornish monkish. We loved our food, just amazing and reasonably priced. at the end hot chocolate pudding was heavenly. This place gave our special day a perfect end.  I would love to recommend this place and visit this soon again.

I was given a treat here by a friend and I would say she made a very good choice. I loved the place for how decently it was decorated. Staff was really amazing and so was their service. I had tomato and strawberry salad as starter; it was fresh and tender, presented very nicely. For main course I ordered pork, and chocolate dessert gave this treat the just perfect ending. This place is simply amazing. I would recommend this to everyone.

Great experience. My partner and I had dinner here for his birthday. We had a table in the small upstairs room overlooking Wandsworth Common which is more intimate than the main restaurant.

As ever the service and food was excellent. Lots of interesting taste combinations, decent size portions and a small daily menu at a fixed price (£45 for three courses).

The 2009 Riesling Grand Reserve from Seventeen Valley Vineyard, Grove Mill, Marlborough was sensational.

Excellent. One of my most memorably dining experiences thus far. Staff were amazing, were not pretentious at all and helped us with recommendations which were spot on. Food was also great and wish I could do it all over again. My boyfriend even ordered a salad as entree which he's never done before (recommended as lead up to his main) and he loved it. Give it a go cos you will not be disappointed.

A delightful eating experience. Chez Bruce follows the following formula; a gorgeous setting + a beautifully designed interior + impeccable service and sublime food. During my experiences of eating at this divine restaurant, their foie gras is a must, as is the cheese. I highly recommend fighting all natural signs of fullness and extend yourself to view and order their cheese cart - phenomenal! It is simply a beautiful restaurant south of the river, which serves excellent food and it is still one of my favourite restaurants in London, especially for a weekend lunch.

Stunnning!. Its not just the superbly composed food which makes this restaurant on of the best in London, but also amazing, friendly and attentive service.

Everry plate of food is amazing in it's own way, a bomb of flavours tend to explode, giving layers of different sensations.

The staff also have great menu knowledge, especially for allergies.

Also, the cheese board is a must have!

10 out of 10, a truly great restaurant. Our last restaurant experience was nothing short of a calamity at Hix (oh it's just won Time Out's top bars...hmmmm). This one was nothing short of culinary excellence. We have been to Chez Bruce over the years. My first experience must have been at least 10 years ago and more recent to that probably no closer than 5. There now seems to be no doubt in my mind that those tried and tested restaurants that quietly get on with the business of delivering expertly cooked food with attentive service and great ambiance are 99 times out of a 100 more likely to deliver your naturally and deservedly high expectations when you go to a restaurant where you know, even with the great value lunch time offers, are going to cost in excess of £100 for two.

This was my Father's Day treat and a chance for Lisa and I to have some time together after the last few weeks. Chez Bruce has a great lunch time offer of £19.95 for 2 courses or £25.95 for 3 - and it's a well thought through a la carte menu, not a collection of obviously cheap dishes. It was a Monday and yet there were plenty of fish dishes (fresh not frozen!) and that's what we chose as a main course but I am getting ahead of myself.

We ordered a bottle of Portuguese white wine. I am tightfisted at the best of times and have learnt that these wines are on the whole pretty good and undervalued. You can be confident that if the sommelier at Chez Bruce has put a wine on the list its going to be OK. We made a great choice, Planalto Branco Reserva 2008 Duoro - a 'cheap' wine compared to the rest of the list at £24, the cheapest Burgundy was £26. The first bottle was corked but not even presented at the table, the sommelier had checked, we were presented with this bottle and was duly tasted (I felt i had to! - it was the perfect temperature, a delicious wine, complex with huge fruit yet dry at the same time.

It was a good start, no, it was a great start, that and being served freshly made (still hot) parmesan biscuits and freshly baked bread. Our starters arrived. Mine was Sliced roast pork belly with tonnato dressing, anchovies, parmesan and crackling. What can I say, it was superbly executed, the presentation and the balance of colour and texture just proved what is stated on the website that the inspiration comes from true legends such as Elizabeth David, Jane Grigson and the Dr Johnson of the culinary world, Larousse. This is not a chef trying to impress a la Saturday Kitchen, this is proper cooking, centuries old techniques perfectly honed to produce awe inspiring food. Lisa had an equally well thought through and perfectly executed dish Cornish crab with leek and cockle vinaigrette, warm potato salad and tartare sauce. What a start...

We both ordered fish. Now given my last experience and that was ordering fish on a Friday, normally a traditionally safe bet, we ordered fish on a Monday. My dish was Fillet of sea bream with shellfish sauce, potato pancakes, shrimps and basil and could not have been fresher if the chef had literally walked in that minute straight from the dock. The sauce was steeped in flavour combining the brown shrimps and mussels, fish stock and cream. It was seriously delicious. Lisa had Roast cod with olive oil mash, grilled courgette and gremolata which was equally as delicious.

I was seriously blown away by this cooking and a little depressed that so many terrible restaurants get rave reviews because of who is in the kitchen and the ability of full witted PRs to sleep walk lazy journalists into writing good reviews for piss poor performances. Even Giles Coren has admitted getting carried away with the moment and giving good reviews where it hasn't been deserved.

On the strength of what we had eaten so far, not having a pudding would have been darned right rude and given the fact that the pudding wine list ran into over 50 wines we just had to, didn't we?! We went for an obvious choice and boy was it divine Hot chocolate pudding with praline parfait washed down with a red pudding wine. Suffice it to say it was similar to fire works at the end of a great party. It was in every way the grand finale and underpinned what was simply one of the best meals we had had in a very long time. Oh and if that wasn't enough they came round with some shortbread which I am surprised wasn't weighed down on account of its lightness.

Chez Bruce is another very good reason to live in South London and another good reason to continue to support restaurants that are worthy of our hard earned money. I am done with making mistakes of going to over reviewed, over stated restaurants and remember the adage that all the glitters isn't gold. Chez Bruce on the other hand is a real treasure.

Bruce's house...a safe place. I had eaten (obviously some time ago) at Harveys, MPW's home for many years which occupied the same space. I have eaten at La Trompette many times and a few times at The Glasshouse but never seemed to make it to Chez Bruce. Birthday dinner seemd to be a good time to pop my Chez Bruce cherry.

I did probably have above average expectations, I know the quality of the sister restaurants (and Nigel Platts-Martin's pedigree - I love the Ledbury - The Square not as much but appreciate it!), and the problem with such high expectations is that you can get very disappointed - very quickly.

The dining room is small. Too small. It does pack 'em in. On the upside it has a front room kind of feel, warm and inviting. A low, cheery buzz of diners chatting. This does however make the service a tad bumpy and possibly why it was a little slow.

Then the menu - it is safe to say that I could have eaten nearly all the dishes on the menu. They all called out to me in some way. Game Sausage with cotechino, Smoked Eel and Salmon Terrine and Jerusalem artichoke soup (one of my favourite things) - but the winner was the Capocollo with Celeriac Remoulade, Rocket and Grissini.

I like to know what I am going to eat, but I feel that the menu really does waste quite a lot of ink. What with the world melting and toner cartridge prices going up surely the dish should have been named Capocolla and Celeriac Remoulade. Aside from the name and the printing, this was lovely. I prefer this to the ubiquitous Parma ham, altogether more smoky and tasty. Celeriac remoulade was perfectly executed, kick of mustard - check, creamy consistency - check. A simple dish but exactly what I wanted on a cold evening.

Next up - Confit of Pork Belly with caramelised apple, black pudding, savoy cabbage, mustard and crackling - my fingers are really getting tired typing out all these names…So - So - So Soft and crispy on top. I have never thought of confit-ing pork belly before, but it is now on the list. The menu description missed off, potato, carrot and pearl onion all roasted in there own juices! It was a great dish. Warming and perfectly sized and a classic combination.

Puddings all looked inviting and I ended up going chocolatey. Hot Chocolate Pudding with praline parfait - amazingly pronouncable and only using 11 syllables. Now I don't know what I expect anymore when I see the words 'hot' and 'chocolate' on a pudding menu, is it a cake, an hot mousse, a fondant, soufflé ?? Lots of chefs have tried to improve upon Raymond Blancs Signature Chocolate dish, many have failed, but along the way they have all tried to invent their own name for it- I have said it before and I will say it again the Chocolate Bento box at Nobu is the best chocolate pudding in the land BUT it is just a Chocolate Fondant.

My pudding kinda was just a bit of soft chocolate cake with a lot of sauce and a very good praline ice-cream - not parfait - again can't we just say what we mean.

It was a lovely meal overall. After the great bottles of wine and the extra plates of cheese it was just shy of £100 a head. That is due to indulgence, but I think that of an evening or a lunchtime Chez Bruce is more that affordable. They do what I consider to be the only way to price a restaurant - you pay a fixed price for two or three courses and supplement that for truffles/caviar and such. Dinner is £42.50 ahead that way at Chez Bruce, which I think is fair and it will make you go back again and again.

The thing is I am not sure I will be back. Sure the menu annoyed me with it's descriptions, the room was too cramped and the service a little slow all of which are easily forgivable when paired with the food - but I think what it really lacked was any kind of excitement, oomph or pizzaz - it was just safe.

Wandsworth Common Institution. I have been to Chez Bruce several times in the past and it is consistantly good. The service is always attentive and cheerful. The recipe combinations are inventive although not always to my taste but that is not a critisism.
My only gripe, which all 3 of us agreed on, was the consistant over salting of the food. super salty side salad with the cote de boeuf and very salty chips too. The sauce which covered the beef was quite salty too. Having said that the beef was cooked to perfection and very tasty.
The fixed menu system I like, either 2 of 3 courses, and the wine menu in interesting although we didnt really test it.
Always happy to go back there.

Its ok but.... Not as expensive as i feared, a nice space although very loud when full of people (as it always is!) I thought the food was ok if al little over seasoned. Way too much salt for my tastes.

Starter was a fish cake with a poached egg, very pleasant but nothing to rave about, steak frites (I can't help myself) was a beautiful cut of meat, sliced with a sauce it did't need with tripple cooked chips (ok if a little dry).

Desert was poor -amazingly.
Had an apple and blackberry tart, which came across bland and stoggy with the smallest ball of ice cream I've ever seen, and you needed a counterpoint to the tart!

The Ice cream desert favoured by luckygaby was by contrast huge, but the icecream just too swee to be eaten.

Overall, a bit of a dissapointment considering how I've hyped this place in my head. Will I go again?
Yes, maybe they just had an off night !

(But if push comes to shove and Lamberts has a table......).

...we headed to Chez Bruce at Wandsworth Common and it was well worth the trek. The locals have been enjoying great food here ever since Bruce Poole’s arrival in 1995 and we’ve read a lot about it being the best restaurant in south London. It attracts a refined crowd who are accustomed to eating well and it struck us that many of our fellow diners were a little on the mature side. It was also reassuringly busy for a Tuesday night. Crab & scallop ravioli with shellfish beurre blanc & samphire (£5 supplement) It’s fair to say that we’re not averse to the odd bargain so we were delighted to see that Chez Bruce is so reasonably priced at just  £45 for three courses . For a Michelin starred restaurant, this is value indeed. The menu here changes regularly and although it was similar to the sample version on their website, there were a few surprises in store. Roa

The starter of hare, spatzle and chestnut gratin with a Fribourg, bacon and sage crust was simply brilliant. This was a perfect dish after a long walk on a cold November morning with wonderful strong flavours throughout. The wonderful hare and its rich gravy was the base of the dish with tender smoky bacon, pearl onions and mushrooms. The spatzle added nice substance but was not in a high proportion allowing the hare to dominate. The crust combined crispy bacon, breadcrumbs for additional crunch and gooey vacherin. This was a delicious rich dish with no low points.

It's taken a very long time, but I finally made it to Chez Bruce at the weekend. It's one of those places I've been meaning to go to for years - we finally got our act together and made a booking for dinner on Saturday night. Booking just a week or two ahead of time, we were offered options of 6.30pm or 9.15pm. On choosing the 6.30pm option we were then told that our table would be needed back by 9pm - not ideal but we decided to go with it. On arrival it was good to see a few other diners already seated, I did fear we might be the first of an early sitting. We were shown to a table in the smaller part of the downstairs dining area, which turned out to be rather nice - buzzy and plenty of atmosphere while feeling quite special at the same time. An amuse bouche of a savory cheesy cracker was offered while we checked through the menu and started to think about wine. tap water was brought to the table and our water glasses were regularly filled throughout the evening. Was lucky enough to be taken to Chez Bruce on a Thursday night.

The service started poorly but got better as the night went on. For example we had a 6:30pm reservation and turned up at that said time. However the staff were having their nightly meeting and the door was locked so my colleague and I were forced to wait in the cold and rain until their overrunning meeting had finished. When we were entered there was no apology. In addition, I was surprised nobody even offered to take coat or bag and they sat on the back of my chair all night. Not first class service to start.

The food and service did get better. However I was a bit surprised when my host said that he was vegetarian and the staff just pointed out the one starter and one main course which could be turned vege. So he didn't really have a choice.

On a positive note all courses were of a generous size, not something you always get with Michelin Star dining. Food on the whole was very tasty - check out my pics.

I have to say I was particularly jealous of the Cheese Board. It looked magnificent and I would strongly recommend that everyone coming here has this!

In booking we were told there was a strict 2hr turnaround on the table. To be fair we were there nearly 3 hours and no one was pressuring us to leave despite it being relatively full.

Afterwards we popped next door to the Hope for a little digestif which was a great idea.

Those who follow me on twitter or Facebook will know that I went to London last month for my 30th birthday. And what a birthday trip it was! I have always wanted to go to a Michelin starred restaurant, even more so when I spotted Chez Bruce on a previous visit. We spent our first two nights in Wandsworth with friends and my birthday was a good excuse to go to Chez Bruce for a decadent Sunday lunch.

They change their menu all the time so I was eagerly checking it every few days in anticipation. I couldn’t even decide then what I’d have so it was not a quick process on the day. We arrived at noon and were seated at a table at the back of the restaurant. This helps me in social situations – my hearing aids don’t pick up background noise so I can hear who I want to hear better. After being presented with the menu and much chatter about what to eat we all picked the same main course. A bit of a cop out maybe but I had read so much about the chateaubriand that we couldn’t not.

We ordered food and a full bodied white to go with our fish starters. At some point before ordering we were given a little hors d’oeuvre or nibble that I can only describe as a cheesy biscuit. This massively downplays it because it was the best cheesy biscuit I’ve ever had the delight of sampling. It was melt in the mouth, buttery and strong with cheese but in a soothing way. It did exactly what it was meant to – left us wanting more.

Then they gave us a bread basket that had (if I remember correctly) focaccia, sourdough and a nut bread. When Mr S enquired about nuts in the bread and told them of his allergy they came over with a nut-free bread basket just for him & a nut-free version of the menu. Excellent service. They could have just given him the focaccia because he raved about it, as did the rest of us. By this point we were laughing about how many ‘this is the best (insert food here) I’ve ever had’ sentences were going to be said during the meal.

A starter of turbot fillet, black rice, squid, chorizo, aioli & basil oil did nothing to quash our enthusiasm. Saltiness from the squid & chorizo blended with the freshness of the fish with ease. The table was happily silent.

Sticking with fishy starters, the normally drab cod was brought to life with an anchovy hollandaise, samphire and roasted garlic. Such a rich dish but perfectly so. The naturally salty samphire & anchovies, the crunchy garlic slivers bounced off the poached egg and cod with precision.

And then there was beef. A man portion of beef at that, none of this dainty portioning on this dish. Medium rare so it still retained the flavour, or practically still mooing as my (well-done) dad would say. The accompaniments weren’t an afterthought either. The chips were a cut above, the green beans had a crisp bite and the stuffed mushroom could have been served as a meal on its own. A lightly caramelised onion held its own among the peppercorn jus which I barely used because the meat was so juicy. Celeriac provided the last non essential but utterly delicious piece of the puzzle. The meat itself was nothing like I’d ever tasted before – it was ten times better. We were dining with friends who work in wine so we left them to choose what would match. The Chateauneuf De Pape that the sommelier had helped select was wonderful.

Unfortunately I started to feel faint at the end of the main course. A combination of the hot dining room, a busy week & a food and drink extravaganza the day before finally caught up with me. Nothing was going to stop me having dessert. After a breath of fresh air, we carried on like troopers.

Chez Bruce has an array of cheeses that you can see from the window that had been taunting me every time we walked past. A cheese plate was ordered between the four of us & the array was brought to our table. Moments like this are why I am not a waif, and why I smile so much. What struck me is how knowledgable the cheese man was; it was an art and vocation to him, not just a job. Seeing passion like that brings me into the fold & make me feel in safe hands.

We reached dessert. The citrus fad that I’m currently going through was satisfied by the blood orange sorbet. Bitter yet somehow sweet, it was a great palate cleanser to end the meal. I had ordered it on the basis of it being light but it arrived with not one but three accompaniments. There was a citrusy soft Madeleine, a rolled brandy snap and an almond biscuit. It was like they knew what I wanted without me knowing.

A traditionally rich creme brûlée did it’s job – it was unapologetically typically French with no messing about with added extras.

And then there was rhubarb. Stewed rhubarb with citrus notes, an almond cake for texture then silky natural yoghurt sorbet to freshen the dish.

Finally, a chocolate pudding with praline parfait was drenched in shiny chocolate sauce like a present being wrapped.

Even the homemade truffles that arrived with coffee were the best truffles I’ve ever had.

It’s fair to say that I thought Chez Bruce was incredible – the service, the food and the whole experience. I was also struck by how unpretentious it was. So much care and passion went into every aspect. The perfect start to my 30th birthday trip.

I made our reservation at Chez Bruce at fairly short notice, so our table was probably one of the worst ones in the room. However I was just glad to have a table as even at Monday lunch time Chez Bruce was close to full.

Yet again they did not put a foot wrong on the service front or with the food. All through the meal we could hear ourselves continually making "mmm" noises, which says it all. The food is seriously good, well balanced complex dishes that look beautiful and taste wonderful.

Chez Bruce is not just a destination restaurant, it's a restaurant that makes you want to move to the area. Although in actual fact it's not that hard to get to, as it's just 2 minutes walk from Wandsworth Common train station, and there are frequent trains from Victoria with a journey time of 11 minutes.

We have been for the second time for another birthday celebration and as it was last time we went, the food and the service was impeccable. The elegant but not so formal atmosphere makes the restaurant one of our favorite for both informal lunches as well as more intimate dinners. The food is of a really high standard for 1 Michelin Star restaurant. Highly recommended.

3 of us went. For lunch. £27.50 for three courses. The food was fantastic, not those minuscule portions you get in some of those high end restaurants. We drank pretty much one of the cheapest bottle of wine which was also superb. Great friendly staff, brilliant cheese board.
The razor clams were a magnificent surprise, served not on their shell but rather on a piece of thin dark bread pressed into the shape of a shell and covered with sliced-on- the-bias sashimi clam meat - wonderful, as were the grilled baby squid with chorizo - light and perfectly cooked.

The turbot and scallops with meat juices and artichokes were also a treat, partly because i detest fish that is too fishy, and this plate was a surprisingly delicate blend.

Not been to anywhere that has offered better value for money at lunch.

Will be going back - many times.

Unassuming Michelin where the menu sounds classic but each dish had something that stood out. The staff were lovely and super accommodating with menu changes. Very good value for a starred place. Matched the quality.

Celebrating passing an exam and finally got to try Chez Bruce as I’m a huge fan of Medlar. They offer free corkage on Sunday evening this summer. Had the cavatelli with veal cheek and calf sweetbread. Delicious with a 1986 Cos! Service was great and attentive. Will come back

A fancy restaurant ideal for a special occasion with friends and family. The only real let down for us was the positioning of our table essentially being in a walkway and having numerous waiters passing us constantly, to the point where it was unnerving and meant that we never fully relaxed. I understand that the restaurant was fully booked, but I made my reservation three months in advance to ensure a space for my partner’s birthday and yet it felt like we were put on a table that shouldn’t really be in the restaurant. All the food was really tasty and portion sizes were generous, so the price point felt justified. The Chateaubriand steaks were a particular highlight. The only slight let down was that when my partner ordered the cheese board, the waitress didn’t advise that it was for two people, despite the menu not stating that either - and instead just laughed when it was served and at that moment decided to inform us. We ended the meal by asking for decaf espresso martinis, but judging by the night’s sleep my partner and I had later that evening, they were not decaf.

Delicious food and superb wine list! We had Valentine’s Day dinner there and were blown away by the immaculately prepared dishes. I started with the salmon app, cod main, and warm chocolate cake for dessert. I would highly recommend all of them. The cheese course was amazing as well, and the lobster raviolo and the monk fish. The portions are very large so I probably wouldn’t have had 3 courses when I go next time. But all in all delicious!

I love dining at Chez Bruce. I try and go every year! Very reasonably priced for a Michelin star restaurant and always a culinary delight. Staff are very attentive and Bruce himself may come out and say hello if you're lucky. Highly recommended.

Second time at Chez Bruce - this time celebrating birthday and everything was just impeccable. Great service, amazing food and lively ambiance. The rabbit pasta was absolutely delicious as was the tandoori monkfish. We would eat their focaccia and shortbread every day if we could. Can’t wait to go back - thank you!

The best dinner and dining experience we’ve had in the UK since we arrived 15 months ago. Just wished we had gone here sooner as we move back to the US in a couple months . So many people recommended it and we finally had the opportunity to fit it in. Chef Bruce, his staff and the restaurant itself were all amazing. We were so impressed with Bruce’s presence and his hospitality. We felt so welcomed, and we felt he and his entire staff cared about our experience. And now to the food. Just fabulous. I’m mostly vegetarian and their aubergine dish was mouth watering! My husband had the Chateaubriand and loved it. Thank you to the entire staff at the restaurant. We highly recommend this restaurant
