I’m glad I’ve now tried Ethiopian food, it was an interesting experience and unlike anything else I’ve had before. Very friendly people who are on hand to help with the menu and recommend dishes. The lamb dish was very good (I think it was called awazie tibs). It’s all really filling (we hardly made a dent) but you can take your leftovers home.

I've been a regular customer coming to this restaurant for nearly a year now. I'm always impressed about quality of the food. Everything is always cooked fresh as you can it shows on the taste. I've been bringing my friends and family to this place, some have never tried Ethiopian cuisine and some are very sceptical about trying anything new. Funny thing is, it always leaves them wanting to come back everytime. They cater to anyone who loves meat and all the way to vegans. Great service, always welcomed my guests. From dates, wanting to spend time with my family or friends, they always made them feel at home and comfortable.

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience you've given me, my friends and my family Wolkite Kitfo ❤❤

You can't judge a book by its cover.

This restaurant was shown to me by my Ethiopian friends while I was living in London. Since then, I always visit Wolkite Kitfo when I am traveling there.

Enter Wolkite Kitfo to be enchanted by the exotic smell of Ethiopian food and the great welcome provided by Isaac. You will feel at home straight away.

Each dish will satisfy every taste bud of yours.

I strongly recommend trying the "Special Kitfo" (raw or cooked) which is absolutely delicious enjoyed with a St George beer, as well as the "Bigkikil" and the "Kwanta Fir Fir".

Best part? The bill is never going to hurt you. This is purely home made food cooked with love for each and every customer.

To try with a friend, or even better, with a large group of friends. It is an absolutely amazing experience.

Till then, see you soon!

A great new experience. First time ever eating food without cutlery. Taste is much different from European food, it's a bit too acid I would say. The beer was good but the home made honey wine tasted strange which doesn't mean it was bad. The staff took a while to serve us but is worth for the money. Coffee is another must try. Overall good experience for the money.

Incredible food. I had the vegetarian platter for one person. There was a perfect portion to try each of the items. The dish comes with a lot of injera (the bread/pancake you eat with) and I could only finish about 50% of it. You’ll definitely feel full after leaving here. Service is great and staff are very friendly and helpful. 3 points for Liverpool womens’ team and a very satisfied stomach after. I will be back!

If you’re looking for a bit of an adventure, this is a great idea. We took the special kitfo (minced meat with collard greens and cottage cheese with herbs) and the chicken (doro awaze tibs) with onions and tomatoes. Everything is served on top of injera, a sort of sourdough pancake. You eat with your hands and it’s really meant for sharing. It’s simple food, but very tasty. We tried their house made honey wine: also super interesting. Definitely some of the most unique cuisine you’ll find in London!

Wolkite Restaurant was a delightful experience. From the warm welcome to the delicious Ethiopian cuisine, every moment was exceptional. The attention to detail and outstanding service truly impressed me. I can't wait to return to Wolkite for another memorable meal. It has become a new favorite for me!

Without a doubt my favourite Ethiopian restaurant in London. I normally turn up with a few friends so I can share as many delicious dishes as possible such as Special Kitfu, Dulet, Awaze Tibs, Godden Tibs, Derek Tibs and Veg mix. Wolkite, really serves authentic Ethiopian flavours with reasonable prices and generous portions. The customer service is excellent, and for the customers who doesn’t know Ethiopian food, the owner, is always available to help. Also, the wine selection is good and is very cheap compared to other restaurants. Don’t be deterred by the location. It is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

A couple of my friends had visited this restaurant about 2-3 years ago, and were adamant on returning during our recent visit to London. They didn’t lie. The restaurant had gone through a renovation since, but one thing they had maintained was quality food and a wonderful experience! The lamb (golden tibs is what they have it called on their menu) was the best I’ve had in a long time. Absolutely amazing! The restaurant owner was so attentive and kind!

This is one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. This was my first time trying Ethiopian food, but i was told by other Ethiopians this was the best. The staff were charismatic and welcoming, and the food was out of this world. If you're going there with another person, get the shared platter for 2. Also order the tej wine, it's my new favourite drink. Also great music and atmosphere. One of my favourites and will be going there agian.

I decided to visit last-minute for a quick meal while in the area. The food was quite nice, very unique sour bread with well-marinated meat. I waited about 30 mins for the food which seemed quite long as you’d expect the meat to be ready cooked. But maybe this wait is normal for this food? I can imagine it would be a good place to come with a group of friends when you’ve got all evening to relax and socialise.

I had a wonderful evening here! The lady took care of my allergy so well and she recommended the delicious fish dish. She’s super thoughtful and lovely! Their mango juice is really good hahaha my friend ordered two of it!

I absolutely love this restaurant, every time I come with different friends, and they have all been blown away by it. I highly recommend the set meals, but remember they are quite big so don't order too much. The lamb ribs are also to die for. The people are super friendly at the restaurant and give excellent service. I like their Ethiopian tea at the end of the meal too.

Amazing food and wonderful service. I’ve been going regularly since moving to the area a few years back; my friend is Ethiopian and introduced me to doro wot many years ago. I thought to try it again when I found Wolkite practically on my doorstep and haven’t looked back since. I was devastated to see the business out of action for a few months when there was a flood in the area last summer, and I am elated to see them back serving their delicious food and putting a smile on their customer’s faces. Great food for very reasonable prices in a very welcoming environment - well worth a visit!
