Reviews Monsieur Le Duck

This really reminded me of vacations in France.   Good food at good value.

We both had the prix fixe menu of salad, duck confit and a side priced at £17.  Salads was a simple affair of mixed leaves dressed in a well emulsified vinaigrette spiked with dijon.

Confit leg was tasty and probably finished in the deep fat fryer as the skin was exceeding crisp and well rendered.  That said, the meat itself was a little on the dry side.

For sides we had truffle oil fries and puy lentils cooked with mirepoix.  The truffle oil fries were a revalation.  Thin, with skin on, and redolent with the scent of truffle.  Very crisp and not greasy, so likely double fried at the correct temperature.  Puy lentils were lovely but not seasoned.  Actually the sweetness of shallots and carrots complemented the salty confit very well.

The house red was pleasantly quaffable and priced at £15 for half a litre.

Given that i work in hospitality as well, there was not a single thing i could fault about this place. Upon entry we were greeted by 3 phenomenal waitresses who really and truly went above and beyond. Special mention to Sibilla - you honestly made this evening really special and the fact you helped me celebrate my 25th birthday in such a heart warming way really touched my heart ❤ love you all so much and i hope you make all future guests feel as treasured as we did today xxx

Went for lunch on a Monday. It was quite and while we reserved, I don't think a reservation was necessary. The service was excellent. The beer was very cold and very nice. Cocktails were tasty. The food was delicious. Highly recommended the duck burger, it was melt in the mouth and very juicy.

Probably one of the most enjoyable meals you could have - tasty different ways to enjoy really well cooked duck. They have two options, the individual menu and the sharing one for two. We went for the sharing one and it's just about right, very tasty. They're kid friendly with changing facilities in the toilet. Don't miss them!

After months of anticipation (i'd planned a valentine's date to their pop up back in February but it fell through due to illness) I finally got to sample the delights of Monsieur Le Duck last night for my birthday dinner! I have to say, I went in with unusually high expectations and it still did not disappoint. The food was exceptional. I'm still thinking about it today and my mouth is watering. The service we received was truly excellent, very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. 100% recommend for a special occasion or slightly higher (mid) budget meal out. Absolutely worth it.

If you love duck you'll love Monsieur Le Duck! Mrs T and I visited during a trip to London, having been encouraged to seek it out by a complementary Jay Rayner review. We took the tube to Liverpool Street and after a few minutes walk found ourselves at the front door. We had a warm greeting from the waiting team, our coats were hung up and we were seated. The service was friendly, attentive and unpressured throughout. We went for Le Grand Jeu with a bonus bread with duck fat butter. The latters crispy yet yielding sour dough smeared with rich salty roast duck flavoured butter was well worth the £2. The starter of a dressed mixed leaf salad was wolfed down by Mrs T, but was the only bum note for me; I uncharacteristically could not finish it because of an unpleasant degree of sinus burn from the mustard. The rest was simply delicious. The duck burger left me asking the question why I had never had one before. The pan roasted and chargrilled breast were respectively sweet & delicate and with a smokey steak-like quality. We had squeaky beans in garlic butter on the side which were exactly as described. The stars of the show were undoubtedly the confit leg with the lentils; both being rich and satisfying in every way imaginable. We washed everything down with a carafe of pungently fruity rose and some tap water. We considerered the crème brûlée, but decided to quit while we were ahead. This all came to a very reasonable £66 with service charge. I look forward to coming back and having a double confit duck leg and lentils all to myself...

I love duck.. It's a lovely cute restaurant in farringdon, a nightmare to park at! Clean, tidy and a well presented bar. The service was attentive if not a little rushed but then we did come in at 2115 what can we expect.. The food was stunning, duck fat butter, duck breast and duck leg were all fab! The dessert menu is a little lacking but the wine made up for that

Always a fan of restaurants that pick one item and do it well. Monsieur LeDuck is such a venue, providing classic Duck Confit and an incredible Duck Wellington but to name a few of its variations on duck. Also a shout out to our attentive staff Sibilla and Roseanna for helping with the difficult choice (of ordering everything ...*almost) Shame they are having to move venue v soon - but keep an eye out for when/where they open up next! #backagainnextweek

Lovely place with great service. We felt well taken care of and despite a little mix up on orders had a wonderful evening with our duck meal deal. Would definitely come back with or without the discount. Those deep fried cauliflower and green beans are delicious. Generous portions all around.

Brilliant food at an good price. The restaurant is cosy, but the high ceilings make it feel roomy. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. The food was amazing, we ordered Le Grand Jeu which consists of duck breast, duck confit, and a duck burger to share. All were delicious, but the standout was the burger, it was really well cooked and the sauce complimented the duck well. The cocktails are also quite good. However, which the food is relatively well priced, the drinks are at typical London prices (£10-12 per cocktail). Overall a great experience, will definitely come again.

Come if you want well cooked duck. Attentive service but we waited for quite long for our food (maybe because we were the first ones here). Would've wanted a longer wine menu.

Loved it! From the wooden ducks everywhere to the very friendly staff, everything about this place is completely charming. And the food is incredible. We wanted to try everything so had the duck breast cooked both ways (chargrilled is slightly better, but both delicious) and the confit (unfeasibly good). Will be back soon, I hope!

Tried the weekend brunch menu and overall eggs are cooked very well. In the back of the restaurant there is a nice seating area with a skylight. There is a bar upstairs with a focus on Armagnac and other cocktails. Service is very good and attentive. Would come back for the platter next time!

Had an amazing lunch here. Definitely go for the 4 types of duck to share for two! The burger was so tender and juicy, the steak like cuts were so deep in flavour and the wing and leg were the best I’ve had in years. The frites and greens were also fantastic and don’t miss the duck fat butter and bread! Sooo goood! The bread was warm and crispy and the butter has such depth of flavour!! It was pretty quiet when we went so visit while you can!

For lover of duck and haters. What this really is is a top class French restaurant. I don't actually like duck. But I had the goat cheese salad and then thought I'd better have a side of duck with it. It was absolutely beautiful. Wine was great. The whole evening was lovely. I highly recommend a visit.

Wow. The best meal I've had in a long time. Everything was absolutely delicious from the drinks, the salads, and the duck! The duck was simply incredible, loved loved it. Highly recommend the sharing platter so you can try a bit of everything. For what it is the prices are fair as well. Also, the people working there are so casual (in a good way) and sweet, they make you feel very welcomed. Will be returning as much as I can before the restaurant closes in May.
