We stumbled across this restaurant quite by accident and were delighted by what we found.
It was Sunday lunchtime and we were treated to a choice of wonderful Sunday roasts on a really good set menu. My Beef Sirloin was melt in the mouth delicious. It was accompanied by crispy potatoes roasted in duck fat, and seasonal vegetables. For dessert I had a lighter than air warm dark chocolate moose with coconut ice cream which was (for me) the ideal finish to the meal. This was fantastic value at £23.
The staff were unfailingly helpful and couldn’t do more to assist, offering a table near a power socket so we could charge a phone!
If you are visiting the Tower of London or the Southbank, and you want a quality meal at affordable prices, this is it!

Chef Tom Simmons of MasterChef – The Professionals 2011 fame has opened an eponymous restaurant (his first) at the south end of Tower Bridge, showcasing his admiration of British and French cuisine with an emphasis on his Pembrokeshire heritage and on sourcing high quality Welsh ingredients. I’d been trying to get a table at Tom Simmons – Tower Bridge since the restaurant opened a few weeks back but to no avail. The nights when I could go were all booked up. So when an invitation to attend a LLamb’s Day press dinner came my way I was glad to RSVP my seat at the table.

Big portions for fine dining style food from an ex Masterchef Professionals finalist.  Waiting staff were attentive but not particularly knowledgeable about the food.  If you ask questions about the menu, they need to dart off to the kitchen to get answers.  But hey, we went on the second day of opening.  They are soft launching with 50% off food up to and including Friday July 14, 2017.

As we sat down we were brought complimentary pillowy sour dough with a fantastic leek infused butter.  An intensely flavored buttered apparently made with smoked salt.

My companion's starter of smoked haddock fish cakes were five deep fried potato based croquettes served with pea puree and tartare.  Pleasant if very filling.  My starter was the chicken liver and lardo terrine that was extremely flavourful and tasted gamier than most chicken liver pates.  Texture was a little difficult as it tended to break off in large crumbs when spread onto the toasted brioche it came with.  Accompanying tomato chutney was a nice sweet foil containing lots of onion and a hint of raisin.

My companion's main of roast cod was beautiful.  Perfectly cooked fish that was still a bit translucent.  It came with pan fried girolles and a creamy sauce.  Nicely balanced dish.  My main of wild sea bass garnished with pork belly was weird.  I like the combination of fish and pork, which occurs a lot in the Chinese kitchen.  But the addition of a sauce of passata, pancetta, artichokes, and braised carrots was just strange and unbalanced.  My fish was pan fried to just opaque but had a lovely crispy skin.

They had sold out of the triple cooked chips so we had the mash as a side.  Nice attention to detail with fried breadcrumbs on top for texture.  Perfectly smooth, obviously mashed by hand and very buttery.

Portions were generous so we were too full for dessert.  The cheapest bottle of red at £26 (a merlot) was really excellent and fruity and served slightly chilled.  At full price our meal would have been £96 including service.  Decent value considering the quality of the cooking but not my favorite place within this price range.

Consistently delicious food and great selection of wines! The staff is professional and attentive. The service is top notch and fast. Most importantly, the food is always a delight and joy for your taste buds. The chief periodically changes up the menu and it's a pity that there's no more delicious pigeon today (maybe someday again in future), but there's equally delicious pheasant and everything else! Definitely would come back again and again and would highly recommend this place!

5 stars for food. Service is great too. The quality of ingredients is very good. The ingredients taste fresh and well selected. The unique tastes are delicately mixed to provide upscale and delicious meal. Love this place and will definitely come back. Looks like they change their menus by season - which also adds a bit of excitement, while it’s also easy to miss the old dishes.

I’m not sure what it is about London Bridge at the moment, but one incredible restaurant after another keeps opening. Tom Simmons is absolutely amazing. It’s without doubt now one of my favourite restaurants in London with Michelin star quality food to match. The presentation of the food is stunning and everything is cooked to perfection. The flavours work beautifully together, there’s nothing unnecessary on the plate. They also do an Express Lunch menu, so you get to try this incredible food for lunch at insanely low prices. I actually felt a little guilty paying £20 for two courses, really... The wine list is also fantastic, with a range of wines for every taste and some are also very reasonable. Bottom line, this place is fantastic and a new favourite in London for me.

Very recently just opened - I think the kitchen will slowly iron out the kinks for some dishes (short rib was slightly overdone, sauce for sea bass did not pair up very harmoniously, passionfruit in choc mousse was too overpowering) - there is a lot of potential here

World’s best chips? Maybe, although they are not what you’d expect - huge rectangles of fried potato in some magical fats I suspect - I’m sure the secret recipe is closely guarded. They were certainly rather good as is everything we tried here pre-theater. Friendly service and an interesting menu to explore with tasty twists to dishes like ‘fish and chips’ and exotic butters to try on the fresh baked bread. Worth a visit and allow yourself a little longer if you’re taking in a show afterwards, you’ll want to linger a while.

This is my new favourite restaurant. Every dish has serious flavour impact. So much so that I can’t choose a favourite. Even the chips are so much more than they sound. Lush cocktails, beautifully presented, delectable plates, and a pleasant ambience, not to mention unobtrusive, knowledgeable and friendly service. Definitely worth splurging on.

We were a party of 6 and each one of us raved about how amazing the food we'd ordered was. Great menu. Each dish had a wonderful combination of flavours and textures without being too fussy or any one component being overpowering. Staff were excellent too. Can't wait to go back.

Had an amazing dinner there for 8. Literally every dish anyone had was delicious but particular stand outs were the pigs head croquettes, the confit pork belly starter, and the lamb main. Also the triple cooked chips were roundly agreed to be the best we'd ever had. The staff were lovely and we even had the head chef come out for a chat. Do go & enjoy!

The words delicious, divine, delectable and damn good come to mind. Every morsel was delicious and we honestly didn't want our meal to end. OK so my friends and I eat out alot and have been to a fair few restaurants over the years. It came to the point that nothing was amazing. However, honestly this is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a very long time.

We loved the food in this restaurant. Over the years we've been lucky enough to go to some of the best restaurants in the UK and the food here was up with the best. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and attentive. All the food was delicious and perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. The next time we are in town we will definitely be back.
