The pain au chocolat is soooo good!! I never resist to buy one whenever crossing by.
All the cakes and sweets look amazing, well done and French detailed.

Small but seductive looking artisan patisserie which attracted me like a bee to honey!! Although the variety at Aux Merveilleux is small, the items that they specialize in are truly Devine! They have mastered the art of the Mereveilleus making- these are morsels of light meringue filled and covered in a foamy whipped cream and coated in various flavors such as nuts, crystalized meringue, chocolate shavings and biscuit like crumbs. These pretty and delicate morsels are a spiritual awakening to the palate of the sweet toothed!! Love at first bite!..

Another specialty here are the brioche buns that come with chocolate chip, sugar, plain or raisins. These have to be my favorite brioche buns ever! They have a cushiony springy softness and a foreign juiciness which is a pleasure to all my senses!

Worth visiting London for!! ; ) xxxx

My sister tried their mini merveilleux in Paris and told me to try them pronto. Since I couldn't make it to Paris, I found the shop in London and bought 4 different flavours to try. They were nice but it wasn't my kind of dessert. So if this is your type of sweet, definitely go try it out!

It was the grand chandeliers that caught the corner of my eye. It sparkled reflected it’s light. Then I saw the sign for Les Cramique. What is a “Les Cramique”? It is brioche bread with different flavours reinvented by Fred; currently they have 5 on sale. Merveilleux The glass display cabinets had the royal worthy “Merveilleux”, mounds of crisp meringue wrapped in whipped cream. Every little piece piled neatly like a work of art. Les Cramique The interior of “ Aux Merveilleux de Fred ” screams classy and fabulous.

I stumbled across this beautiful french patisserie when strolling through Kensington. Glad to hear that they have opened one on Northcote road! They have sweerbreads and macaroons which are sweet and taste really fresh. Lovely staff and genuine feel to the shop and produce. Big fan! C'est magnifique!

Readers, today’s post was originally meant to be about my recent jaunt to Paris, but that’s going to have to wait until next week. I have something to tell you… a little discovery that I couldn’t be more excited about.

When R and I went to Paris we stumbled across this tiny patisserie that sold the most exquisite little balls of sweet perfection either of us had ever tasted. When describing it to R’s mum the next day we both despaired as we wouldn’t have had a clue where on earth to point her towards on her own upcoming day trip to the city of love. We did however delight in reliving that bitter-sweet memory from the day before and tried as hard as possible to describe them.

Basically, they were a ball of meringue, with more meringue (but the soft stuff), praline and one of an assortment of flavours inside (caramel, cherry, chocolate, white chocolate, coffee), then coated in chocolate or praline shavings on the outside. They were really light & fragile and just melted into our mouths. My description doesn’t do these things justice; they were sweet but not tooth-achingly and the flavours were just divine, not overpowering in the slightest. The shop was also really charming with simple elegant décor and very friendly service.

I went home after lunch with R’s mum determined to find the location of this place based on a photo I’d taken of the outside (clever Lady Cake~) only to find their website and discover that they’d opened in South Kensington that very day!!!

And so it was on Friday I made the trip there and fell in love all over again.

London, let me introduce you to Aux Merveilleux ~ de Fred ~. They can be found at 88 Old Brompton Road, South Kensington. Come out of the station and turn away from the museums, walk straight down Old Brompton Road, keeping on the right hand side and walk past Hummingbird Bakery but don’t walk past Byron Burgers – if you’ve got that far walk slightly back and you will have found Aux Merveilleux.

Prices range depending on the size (mini, medium and big cake sized) but I had two of their mini treats with a takeaway cup of loose leaf Dilmah jasmine tea for £4.80. I’ve paid much more for macarons before (I’m looking at you Laduree and your devious way of getting one addicted) and these satisfied me just as much. They have a small range of meringue based cakes and brioche. It is run by a group of very friendly young French people who will gladly talk you through their products. It’s more of a takeaway place but they do have two small tables so you can stand and enjoy should you not feel the patience to put them in a box and head up to Kensington Gardens to stop and watch the world/overfed squirrels go by while you consume these balls of perfection.

I’ll see you in line. Get there now before the rest of London storms in on this place.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a French bakery and I have to say, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by how cute and charming the place was. The interior was beautifully designed with a touch of Parisian elegance, making for a truly delightful atmosphere. But the real star of the show was the baked goods. In particular, the chocolate brioche and meringues were absolutely amazing. The chocolate brioche was soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of chocolate to satisfy my sweet tooth. And the meringues were light and crisp, with a delicate sugary flavor that was simply divine. Overall, I would highly recommend this French bakery to anyone looking for some delicious baked treats. So if you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop by and try the chocolate brioche

Absolutely delicious pastries made fresh on the premises. Prices are aligned with location but in general good value. 4 stars since only a handful of tables available inside tucked in a corner. It would be nice to have a bigger space to enjoy the marvellous food and drinks here.

Love the chocolate cramique, especially when freshly baked and still warm. The texture is so light and fluffy, delicious! The meringue dessert (merveilleux) are also nice and light, even though I am not the biggest fan of meringues, I quite like these :)

5* - truly best brioche I have ever tried and the girl that served me today was so sweet and friendly. Great coffee too and reasonable prices for such good quality. I’m very happy I walked past and will definitely come back 😌

The almond croissant was so yummy. The raisin and chocolate cramique were so delicious. We also found their prices more reasonable than other bakeries in the area. We went to Aux Merveilleux de Fred in St Pacras station to get the almond croissant, but we were told they did not bake in that branch, so if you want to try the almond croissant, you should get to the this bake shop. It will be worth for sure.

Very warm and lovely service. One would feel very welcomed the moment you enter and being greeted happily! Thank you very much. Oh the pastries I must say are one of the best you could ever find in the area! - Do not some pastries might contain rum e.g Almond croissant. Do ask the friendly server in any case.

You know a place is good when they have a limited and curated menu! The almond croissant was top tier - flaky, crispy but not dry - perfect almond taste and without the “eggy” flavour that a lot of croissants have. The chocolate cramique is lovely too. I will definitely come back for that croissant 🥐!

This French bakery cannot be missed because the smell of brioches they make is so delicious! Their other speciality is les merveilleux, you can see them on the photo - equally delicious! Also, you can see the bakers at work, because the wall between the working area and the tea room is made of glass. There are maybe 6 small (2-3 persons) tables. I was there on Sunday at 3pm to meet a friend, and we got a table immediately, but later all tables were busy. The cappuccino I had while waiting was ok, 3.5/5. Facilities: there are no lavatories and no WiFi, but there's a hotel next door if you have an emergency ;-)

Very nice atmosphere and staff. The meringue is very fresh although a little too sweet to my taste. Saw people queueing for the Christmas trunk cakes and when I returned in one hour the cakes were all gone!

We got the tiny sandwiches from here after seeing them in the window the day prior and they were so nice. The perfect amount and not bad value. Made fresh with fresh ingredients.

The almond chocolate croissant was so yum. The brioche too. I also found their prices more reasonable than other bakeries in the area. I found the hazelnut merveilleux a bit too sweet for my tastes

I had meringues and chocolate brioche. Brioche was not bad but I would recommend the meringues more!! As always the basic (dark and white chocolate) is the best🖤🤍
