A go to place to have a wonderful filling breakfast with a very nice ambience and atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful, the service is prompt and punctual and the hygiene is always up to standards.
Excellent place to have an early filling breakfast with the freshest ingredients and at the best prices, prompt and punctual service with the help of a very friendly and professional staff.
Amazing place in London. I love the food. can’t wait to come back here again. Congratulations to the staff.
There is a lot to be said about receiving banter from the waiters. It leads to an entertaining meal. From a two second introduction to customers, there is particular skill in being able to gauge what type of reception would be welcome. I think again to a particular restaurant that I know which would anticipate a customer’s every need without a word. Even silently changing the placing for a left handed diner to better suit different dexterity.
Highly entertaining and very busy. Well worth a trip. The family-run cafe which is clearly far more than just a cafe to most diners. Food was nice and good value. Lots of choices. Staff very welcoming and up for chatting. This is the total opposite of a modern chain and this sort of business is getting rare.
This is cafe is famous because of its good food. Crazy rt because it's SO affordable. Got the homemade minestrone, homemade Cannelloni & the English breakfast. The food and the atmosphere is good but what makes this place great are the owners. They definitely make you feel at home and can't wait to see them again. Recommend them all!
How can such good food, happy ambience and incredibly welcoming service get even better in time? Yet that’s exactly what the pellicci family have managed to achieve. A warm, cosy space in the middle of Bethnal Green where no one feels left out. And those (double-fried) chips!
Well worth a trip great food very friendly staff, reasonably-priced and a good menu for all. Old style cafe not many about any more full marks.
Lives up to its great reputation! Super place, both people and pocket friendly. I had the great vegetarian breakfast platter and an iced coffee. Expect the coffee to be strong, I liked it as is. The breakfast was of a good standard, my favorite parts being bubble & squeak and fried toast (pure indulgence!). The tiramisu looked promising but I was too full even for dessert.
Old school cafes are rare to come by with the ever-increasing rents rocketing every year in London. Cafes find it hard to stay in business and I’ve seen many close down selling their business to another franchise. I am so glad that E. Pellicci has stayed in business. Rumour has it that famous Kray brothers use to frequent this East End café in Bethnal Green back in the days.
A gem of a restaurant with wonderful interiors and super delicious food. Not very easy to spot but a must visit pocket friendly place in London.Tried out the english breakfast and mixed grill both were awesome.
Honesty forces me to state immediately that the food was not greasy at all, I put greasy as the cafe is half a 'Greasy spoon', half a diner. As a plus E Pellicci is a little gem architecturally, wooden inlaid panelling that would do justice to a 5 star thing. At 10 o'clock on a Saturday morning the place was full with a few tourists, locals, a table of the local constabulary and clean, filled, sauce bottles. The food was about perfect the butter dripping of the bouncy white toast, the scrambled eggs fluffy, the mushrooms grilled to perfection. A treat. The staff are fun and friendly. Only slightly negative is I thought the price was a little more than equivalent cafes I have tried in London. Now when I say more I mean £13 for 2 with drinks and toast, against £10 elsewhere, so we are not going in to debt here. A definite recommend, another 100 years to E Pellicci.
The breakfast of champions is always a good way to start your day; but what about the breakfast of Legends. At E Pellicci, a cafe in Bethnal Green, this is what you can do. This cafe is famous for its good food (more importantly) and also for the fact that the Kray brothers used to eat here. Order the usual such as a full english as below or go for the mixed grill full english. Which comes with a lamb chop and liver. Over 100 years this restaurant has proved a winner and the vibe, buzz and kindness of the staff make it a winning combination.
I just been there 2 days ago for breakfast while I was on my way to work. The place is well decorated. The staff members were friendly and they serve my food really quick. Everyone talks to everyone here. The food is mainly teas and coffees, sausage, bacon and eggs. The experience was so amazing that I am planning to visit this place again and again.
I visited this place with my colleagues during lunch time they are its fan. The interior here is so beautiful and give very nice touch. We tried their Italian food. Which was nicely cooked and the waiters served it in a short time. So they have good staff and great service. I personally liked this place a lot and I would come again soon.
Converted. E Pellicci made an enthusiast for life today on my first visit when I entered the packed and lively cafe, cozied up to share a table with a regular (almost everyone else in there was known by name) and had a excellent cappucino and an impulse cup of perfectly delicious minestrone. After I mistakenly let in two more guests after 4pm closing time, thinking the waitstaff had accidentally locked the door, I got up to pay--under £5. The waiter asked me about myself and learning that I am a new arrival to the city, he wrapped up a free piece of bread pudding ("a traditional East End specialty" he said) by way of a welcome.
Another fab breakfast with Mr. Thompson (@AWFT). Great cafe with character!
I had some great food here. I came for a breakfast and it was the best I have had in so long. The breakfast portions were so large that it lasted me all day and I felt full. The best bit was that, it was cheap and not in the least expensive. The staff were very warm and helpful.
This was my fist time at this cafe and it was perfect. The staff here is eager to serve you and to make you comfortable. The food was nice and the soup was amazing. Will definitely come back here really soon. I recommend to everyone who happens to be in the area.
This place has been on my bucket list since a very long time. They serve some really good breakfast. The interiors have been done up pretty well. One add on facility which makes it different from other place is that- when this place gets busy they add people to your table and you get to interact with a whole lot of people. Definitely worth a visit!
I visited this place for a Saturday brunch, and wasn't as busy as usual, and therefore we were able to grab a table. The staff here is very friendly, so much so that you feel completely at home! The food is a delight and extremely delicious. I would recommend a mixed grill. It is a spectacular place and I will surely visit again.
This place is an introduction to English breakfasts to all non British people visiting the neighborhood. The service is friendly. the menu is elaborate with eggs, bacon, toast, chips, beans and much more. The prices are a little steep but for the experience, certainly worth it. The place is very crowded and the atmosphere is lovely.
The place offers traditional Italian cuisine. The food is comforting, delicious and very appetizing. It is authentic yet seems to be home-cooked. The food is also very reasonably priced. The staff is hospitable and friendly and will make sure you're having a good time. I would definitely recommend this place.
The place offers authentic Italian cuisine and is run by Italian immigrants. The food is extremely delectable and delicious. The food is also very reasonably priced and will not burn a hole in your pocket. The ambiance and decor is beautiful and done extremely well without being glamorous. The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable, and will make you feel welcomed. This place is definitely worth a visit.
This place is warming and extremely relaxing. It is owned and still operated by same family who has served artists like Gilbert and George, gangster Kay Brothers and has such a beautiful decor that entices you to come back all the time. We ordered Lasagna, so delicious and most authentic. Their breakfast menu is divine. Do not pass this place, go inside!
The place offers hearty portions of dishes here, which are hot and extremely delectable. The place is absolutely charming and offers a great atmosphere to enjoy a heart meal. Visit this place if you want to have a proper family restaurant dining experience, or enjoy a an affordable, or even a warm place to enjoy a meal on a winter month.
This place has a very nice and homey feel to it. It is a tiny, little place and has the most adorable atmosphere. They have a great menu, comprised of the largest number of fried British dishes, and Italian cuisines that I had ever seen. I am so glad to have come here. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, and the food is delicious. Definitely coming back, and very soon.
My experience at this place was very pleasant. In fact i quite like the place and if ever in the location would definitely want to check it out again.
The staff is very sweet and humble and were not annoyed even when we dropped in really late for breakfast. With the menu, we did not have any sky high expectations but here again we were pleasantly surprised.
All of my fellow companions simply loved their orders. The prices too were very appropriate.I totally loved the place and would definitely want it keep running.
I think this place should definitely be on your itinerary if you are planning to visit London.
The location is at the far end of the city and for many may seem inconvenient but let me tell you the bus stop is right in front of this place.
the crowd mainly comprises of the locals and the ambiance is fairly good. The value for money though is great and the menu offers some really good food. The food is wholesome and my order of English breakfast tasted wonderful and filling.
A good experience.
This is a perfect spot for breakfast. The menu though is a small one but the portions served are quite generous. The quality of coffee on offer is quite good and compliments the options in the menu pretty well. The staff was very polite and the service was spot on. The quality of the food is excellent and you may also try this place for lunch as well.
I came to this place on my recent tour of the city, and I am glad I stopped by. The outlet is very quaint and charming, although a little small. It has been present here for a long time, and has a lovely seating. We ordered the very economical full English breakfast, and loved every bit of it. The sausage and mushrooms were exceptionally tasty, and the size of the meal was enormous. I also liked the staff, who are all very friendly and nice. I wish them the best for their future.
The food was very good , full of flavors and super yum , the portions were huge too , I went there with an empty stomach and I was full till the top when I came out.
This cafe is running by the family so you can expect a lot of love from them.
I would recommend this place to everyone.
I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for a realllly long time now. I feel it is quite an achievement that even after so long, they have not compromised on their quality and serve some of the most delicious food I have laid my hands on. The staff here is extremely helpful and amicable. The ambiance of the place makes you want to come back repeatedly. Do try the steak pie and pasta bolgenese, they are extremely appetizing. Highly recommended.
A nice place to try the authentic Indian breakfast, fried eggs, pudding, sausages etc. The place is simple and nicely done, a little hidden from the crowded neighbourhood. It's well worth the money andthe food is simply fantastic, so are the drinks and the sides.
The decor here is marvelous internally and externally. The service here is impeccable and not comparable. The food here was great and in my opinion was priced very well. I had a very enjoyable Full English breakfast. Visiting this place was the best bit of my trip for sure.
The service, food, and ambiance all made sure it was worth it.
This place is quite small and is not very spacious so you might have to stand in the queue for a while. Be assured that it is completely worth it. The conventional brunch and the fresh pasta they offer is absolutely delectable. The staff seems to be one big family and are very pleasant and quick despite how busy the place is. Make sure you order their extremely delicious bread pudding. Highly recommended.
A place which was on top of our wishlist after reading numerous positive and raving reviews about this place! And gladly it did not disappoint! To begin with, the staff is amazingly humourous and chatty without being intrusive, immensely pleasing service! The place was without doubt one of the best been to off lately. Highly recommended!
I, along with my partner, visited this place for breakfast. We had sausages, hash browns, bacon and coffee. The entire breakfast was quite good and pretty wholesome. The quality of the dessert was also impeccable and we enjoyed our time there. I suggest you all to give this place a visit.
This place has a special vintage air to it and no wonder it still has good business. The place although small is made with good care and transcends local cafe vibe. This place has a traditional appeal with the fact the it is family run and so seems warm and authentic. The service then is extremely amicable and hospitable.
Although the place is generally busy, the waiting time isn't so long. On to the food, the dishes are served in appropriate portions and they use fresh ingredients making them taste incredible.
Highly recommended!
Been waiting to visit this warm and very inviting family run by a family, must say not one thing disappointed me about this place. To begin with i have never known service like this place does, they welcome you like guests and are extremely amicable. The decor is alluring , a leap in time backwards. The food is impeccable, from starters to main course till the very end! Bread and Butter Pudding is amazing!
I went to this place for breakfast and must say that I had an amazing one. The atmosphere was quite lovely and the food was also very well-prepared. This place also has some stunning views. The quality of the food was top notch and the portions served were quite generous. The staff also offered us some bread pudding as freebies.
Proper east end grub.
The kindest, warmest staff you will find in London.
As you walk away from the gentrification, along Bethnal Green road, sheepskins hang in windows, market stools a buzz. After as many 2 pound a pair, ows' ur father and Gordon Bennett's as we could afford we entered the vibrant east end kitchen to the warmest of welcomes.
The place was heaving and after apologising we might have to wait for 5 minutes the manager chimed over "actually, you dont mind sitting next to Leyton Orient fans do you?".
The portions are huge, you leave full. The fry up, the pasta it all tastes good but what I'm into about this place is that you leave with a full stomach and warm heart.
There is a place in the middle of Bethnal Green Road, where your dreams finally can come true: can you imagine to have the most incredible English breakfast you have ever had, while you are drinking a real italian coffee? And if I say a real one, believe me, it is! You can recognize the heavenly smell just crossing the street, before getting in the cafè!
This lovely "greasy spoon" has been run by an italian family since the 1900s.
With his strong cockney/italian accent, Nev, as the customers call him, welcomes you with his kind and friendly smile and makes you feel at home, serving you comfortable food made by his mother.
This east end institution, which has fed gangsters and civilians, poor and posh, nowadays it's attended not only by artists and cool guys from the area, but also by old regulars who used to go there before going to school and now they use to bring their own children to eat the same breakfast they had few years ago. People queueing for hours during lunch time, who instead of complaining, start speaking to each other.
What's more is that Pellicci is the only one of London's classic italian caffs to have achieved Grade II - listed status! If you look at the grade II listed facade, you will see an E.emblazoned in chrome upon it which stays for Elide, Pellicci matriarch's name.
What I love about Pellicci is the courtesy of the owners and their humble manner of serving customers. They won't make you go away without giving you a slice of bread pudding made by Mamma Maria, as the children who come to the cafe call her!
Great English breakfast! Well seasoned and flavourful. Fairly sizeble portion sizes as well. Lovely kind staff who were friendly and a lot of fun.
Note that it's cash only, though there is a handy cash withdrawal right across the road.
A bit out of the way but worth the travel for what was truly one of the best full English I've had in London.
Best come early though! I came at 830am on a Sat and could get a table right away, but by 9 there was quite a line (as seen in the pictures).
Worth the long queue, we had the heartiest feast comprised of their Full English Breakfast (Have the Lot - Meat, £15.5), Chicken Escalope (£15.4) with Lasagne (£13.2) and Cannelloni (£13.2).
We were sat on a tight space inside a homey art deco style room imbued with constant chatters and commotion. They take orders when we were in line at the queue so everything happens pretty fast, service was amazing and the staff was friendly. It was definitely a great experience worth more returning visits for a casual dining with great hearty food.
It’s been nearly a year since I went here for breakfast and I still think about the fry up I had here. Honestly, it was the best breakfast I had in my entire life. My wife and I shared a table with another couple on the patio under the awning out front. Truly a great time. They didn’t take card at the time and I’m not sure if they do now, but there is a ATM just a few doors down.
Always a pleasure to dine there. Arrive at 845 on a Saturday morning and we've just managed to sit on the last available table for 4.
Service as usual, excellent. Portion is way too generous for 1 so we have to share. Thus, making the meal affordable.
Needless to say, deli......cious!
10/10 will go back again. And again. And again
And again
The staff was amazing. The food was the best breakfast I ever had in London. It was worth the wait..
Absolutely fantastic place to have a drink or a bite. Well, I say "a bite" but their breakfast options are no joke. They definitely don't skimp on the portions here, and there are plenty of options if you're vegetarian too! Besides the food the atmosphere is absolutely brilliant and there is always time for a chat with the staff, and jokes too! Will definitely return there, also to try their lunch options!
We had to get a full English breakfast while in London and I started looking up reccomendations online right away. This restaurant is amazing! We arrived and there was quite a line but I had my heart set. While we were waiting we were greeted with se fresh hot chips and a hilarious and friendly server. Next, we were provided a menu while lined up to get an idea of what we wanted and then our order was taken before we even had a seat which was a great way to keep things prompt. The food was amazing! I had the full breakfast and added bubble & squeak, my husband was not sold on the idea of black pudding but I convinced him to try it and he loved that too. We both left soooo full and happy. The prices were great, food was fantastic and the servers were so friendly even though they were SWAMPED. Just a warning- the restaurant is cash only so come prepared!
Decent place with big portions of Italian food. I ordered the penne bolognese and it was big size. The glass of house wine was a very generous serving. Which was nice. The neighbourhood was a bit sketchy with an interesting crowd. I was told to be careful with my bag sitting on the table outside. I ordered twice with two seperate people a glass of water and it did not arrive. Overall not bad, good value.
Had to experience this place after hearing the hype of it being one of the best Fry up Breakfasts in London. It did not disappoint, well worth the wait, however the queue got really long quite quickly so I'd arrive early
Really good English breakfast. Got the “all the meats” and it was huge so could easily feed two. My personal favourite was the fried bread and the mushrooms. Service was friendly as well. Do go early as in the mid morning after 9 it seems like there’s a queue.
The scrambled egg was not great though as it’s thoroughly overcooked.
