If you enjoy very spicy hot chicken tikka, try this starter. For me , it masked the flavour of the food. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants over the years and Some of them have been excellent, but this one is definitely not one of my favourites.
Our server Mashud, was courteous and the food was delicious. I had my favourite “murgh tikka” and it was beautifully displayed. Tasted delicious! We were also given complimentary Okoro dish.
It's good food in a draughty corridor.
I'd recommend giving the restaurant itself a miss but it's my go to option for Indian take away in Balham.
Great service! Amazing, delicious food! Loved the Samosa chat ,paneer ,curry’s rice and naan,mixed grilled ,chicken platter,mango lassi and Kulfi was fantastic too! Recommend to all!!
Amazing restaurant, the staff are so lovely, welcoming and attentive! And the food is delicious! I always order online but going into the restaurant was a great experience. Would highly recommend!
Good indian food, decent portions
Had the lamb rogan josh, tandoori chicken, garlic naan and pilau rice. The pickle tray was slightly different from your usual Indian restaurant and was super tasty
Also a good shout if you want to sit outside in summer as it gets the sunset to the very end
I came here with my boyfriend for a mid week meal and it was a lovely experience! The staff are so attentive and friendly and the food was delicious! We had a mixed starter and prawn puri and then chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and keema naan. Couldn’t fault it, we’ll definitely be back!
I ordered a meal from Deliveroo yesterday & unfortunately what I received just wasn't what I ordered so I called them last night to complain. The person on the phone was extremely apologetic & told me to call back today as they were closed when I called last night. After a call today, they sent me an alternative free of charge & the food was amazing. Its one thing getting something wrong but its a big thing when a mistake is acknowledged & rectified. I would definitely be ordering more food from these guys in future. 1st class food & service
My god! What an amazing meal. We didn’t book and were lucky to get a table on a sat night. Starters were really nicely presented and the mains as you would expect. Great service and brilliant flavours too. The spice was very nice and in that sort of medium/“lingers pleasantly” range which was most welcome.
Strongly recommend the lamb kebabs to start with, and the dhal was some of the best I’ve had.
Tried Indian Room for the first time on Sunday lunch time. The decor and music added to the ambience of the restaurant. Most amazing dish to try is the platter of lamb chops. Out of this world, my husband chewed on them to ensure no meat was left on the bone. The platter was served with drizzles of coriander and pomegranate seeds, very pretty. We found out they are marinated over night. Gosh if I only had the recipe!!
Would have given 5 stars for food flavour but gave 4 as we ordered a starter which was a 'Shared platter' for about £12. We got 1 onion bhaji, one samosa, another spinach taster and something else. All tasted beautiful but it should have been one each not having to cut each one in half! Naan bread was very thin and small too. Maybe I'm spoilt as I lived in Bradford for a long time and portion sizes and price comparison are very different. As I said lovely tasting but was hungry again a short time after.
You’d be hard stretched to find authentic, flavoursome Indian cuisine such as this in London and the naan was out of this world! The only place Indian food has ever tasted so good is in India. A must go. The service was attentive and fast, the ambience was great - the fact that there were a continuous flow of people coming in is testament to how good the food is. The smells, the spices….it honestly took me back to my travels in India and the great cuisine…can’t wait to return
The food here is amazing and one of the tastiest currys I have ever had. Staff are so kind and they really do look after you. Would 100% recommend

Understandably busy ‘traditional’ Indian restaurant. They really cover all the bases with a broad menu. We shared several dishes which were all spot on. The prawnBhuna being a particular favourite and packed with prawns. No searching through a reheated sauce for a single Crustacea here! Nice service Iona slightly old fashioned and low key atmosphere. Loved it.
What a great little gem in Balham. The food was really exceptionally tasty. It was busy but was worth the wait. The staff were courteous and weren't overzealous in their duties. They were just right. Definitely recommend this place.
If you’re in Balham this is a fantastic hidden gem. The service was top notch and the food was great. I highly recommend it. Also offers options for people with dietary restrictions.
