Take a classic white-tablecloth Parisian eatery sans bells and whistles and add a bit of Boston’s college scene to the mix. The result is a mod restaurant, classroom and art gallery all in one, where you’ll not only revel in the perfect creaminess of chef Patrick Campbell’s foie-gras-and-rabbit terrine, but you can learn about how it was prepared, to

Such a chill vibe this place has! Fresh pizzas being made right in front of your eyes and loads of vegetarian options too. A total winner, the toppings on the Giardino were my favorite - mozzarella, peppers, onions! Highly recommended. :)

I’m such a big fan of Pizza Union that it’s almost comical - I’ll rant and rave about it to whoever will listen. It just completely gets the ethos of Italian fast food - quick, delicious ingredients, simple, beer and wine. Unpretentious, high quality pizza ovens and thin, crispy bases. I'm not sure there's an occasion where I wouldn't suggest it.

The Guys are really kindly and the service was really good. After we orderd, we became an pager to wait on our table for our Pizza´s. The restaurant was full, we were lucky to became an table outside. After 5 Minutes the pager rings and our Pizzas were finished.
The Cheese and Peperoni was really good, the pizzaground was a little bit burned, but it was oke. The Price is really good for this not small pizza.

Delicious, thin and crispy fire-baked pizzas. Nice place to have a pizza on a small budget. I would personally recommend Florentina if you are looking for a vegetarian option. It would be great if they could deliver and had more branches across London. Definitely worth a try!

Pizza union has a sort of nice ambience. I found it a bit noisy and not cozy. We had requested the Giardino pizza: A perfect Italian cuisine.
It had a perfect blend of spices. The base was flawlessly capped with the sauces and with the vegetables. Along with the pizza we ordered a piquant chilli sauce and a thick garlic sauce, the combination of these two made my glands go crazy.
The prices of the item are reasonable
The staff Savino, Taha, Istvan of pizza union were skilled, courteous and pleasant

A new job, means a new office, which means a new suburb to explore and eat my way through! My new work actually does provide lunch but that doesn’t stop up resisting the urge for one of the many eateries around Leman Street. We’ve made a good job of Pizza Union, with three visits already. They offer fire-baked Roman style pizzas which are prepared superfast and are easy on the wallet.

Highly relaxing atmosphere great staff, an extensive menu and amazing prices make for a wonderful experience. Feel extremely blessed to live down the road from this pizza heaven. Easily the best pizza I've had in London without a doubt. Food is ready in minutes and tastes more amazing each time I go. The prices are also almost too good to be true but alas they are true. London needs more of these!

First meal in London and it didn't disappoint. We happened to walk past Pizza Union and it was 70% full on a Monday night at 9:30. After looking at the menu we realized why this place is packed - great value. Without looking at reviews on Zomato, we decided to give it a shot. The Pizzas are 12” big. We had Regina, which has ham, mushroom, and olives, for £6.50. Although the crust is very thin, the toppings are not greasy or overly saucey, just the way I like. Decor is very rustic with high ceiling. Definitely great for low budget locals and travellers.

Self service no thrills place which is what you need sometimes. The music is a bit loud and it does get really busy so not great if you want to socialise for a while but perfect for a quick bite after work. They have a wide range of pizzas as well as decent sized salads. The pizza itself is a bit thin for my taste but this is passable.

I couldn't give this place any less as I believe it's the best pizza in London, better than Franco Manca, pizza pilgrim, pizza 1889. I'm not comparing to Pizza Hut and dominoes because I believe they are junk pizza (which I do eat occasionally) but cannot categorise the same as artisan or authentic pizzas.

I always have a margarita with mushroom, well done. Only criticism is they don't do anchovies which I do love every so often (classic napolinata)

For all those people who are broke at the end of the month and think they can't eat out- you have a new haven. Pizza union brings to you delicious pizzas at throwaway prices!
I didn't realise how pocket friendly this place is- I spent no more than £6 totally- throw in a drink and dessert for £4 and you get a satisfying meal for a tenner! Now that's almost unheard of in London!
The really high score is for the price, the service and the speed(it took no more than 5 min for the pizza to be ready). I have no complaints with the quality of pizza- it's not the best but definitely good for the price.
Highly recommended! My recommendations- for meat lovers who don't mind a bit of spice, try the vesuvio!

Not the best pizza you will ever have in your life, but a decent and satisfying one nonetheless. It took a lot longer than the 3mins they claim, but it's worth the wait. Cheap, cheerful and delicious. Ordered the veggie one with peppers and mushrooms - could have done with a bit more cheese but other than that, it gets a thumbs up.

What a fantastic pizza joint near Spitalfields – eat in on long communal wood tables or takeaway!. No table service – just get in the queue, order your pizza (all of them between £6-8). add extra toppings if you like, pay and receive a device that buzzes when your pizza is ready. As you pay, you can see the pizzas being prepared and put in fire baked ovens.

My friends always like to make fun of me for being an old man stuck in a young boy’s body.  They bemoan my fussiness.  I prefer to refer to it as being discerning. When that stereotype doesn’t fit the bill, I morph into an immature brat in an adult’s body.  They complain about my adolescent sense of humour but I choose to see this as my attempt to maintain a youthful outlook on life.

Casual great value for money pizza place right next to Liverpool Street station. Pizza Union is a no fuss sort of place and is great spot for lunch to catch up with friends or colleagues! The pizza's are 10 inch thin base with a variety of toppings and are ready within 10 mins ( once you've ordered) which is handy if your rushed for time. The garlic and herb dip is comparable to dominos! They also do a Nutella pizza for desert which will send you into a chocolate coma

Pizza union was one of those chance happenings. We were out one day past dinner time and we were hun-ger-eee!. Having just popped into hummingbird bakery to pick up some cupcakes across the road, J spotted Pizza Union - A pizza restaurant that sells inexpensive pizza. Pizza is love, guys. Last week I had that ‘Friday! Payday! Let’s go eat something!’ feeling. Er, except, not something too expensive, as I’d like to not be crying into 19p Tesco noodles come next Friday. So we decided to pay a visit to Pizza Union in Spitalfields (they also have a branch in King’s Cross, FYI), to get some cheesy, tomato-y, dough-y goodness and see how their ‘Superfast’ tagline holds up.

Who doesn't love a pizza?! It's probably the go-to "naughty" food that I eat the most, because crispy base and melty cheese = heaven! So I popped into Pizza Union near Liverpool Street last week to give their offerings a try. And they're so good that I have to tell you about them!Pizza Union is tucked between Bishopsgate and Commercial Street near Shoreditch in East London. It's a huge space with a massive pizza oven where they promise superfast 12" pizzas, ready in 3 minutes! And that's exactly what they do. You order and pay at the counter, take a buzzer with you and within 3 minutes the buzzer starts flashing and your pizza is ready to collect. I went with Hugo; I ordered the Formaggi (tomato sauce, mozzarella, mascarpone, gorgonzola and parmesan) with extra artichokes and pepperoni, and Hugo had the Carne (tomato sauce, mozzarella, beef, chicken, pepperoni and onions). The bases are super thin, and crunchy at the edges, and the toppings plentiful and delicious. It was up there with some of the best pizzas I've tried. And they're super cheap too - they were £6.50 each!

Good thin crust pizza's.  My companion had the funghi with thyme and I had the manzo.  Mine had minced beef, garlic, green chilli and raw rocket as well as mozarella and tomato sauce.  Flavors all nicely balanced.

They have a system where you order at the till, and they give you a buzzer that starts to blink and vibrate when your order is ready to be picked up.  This should have been efficient but there was a total malfunction on our order.  When we got buzzed for pick up, we were surprised to find our pizzas were already stone cold.

Prices are great with pizza's between £4 and £6.50.  Nice atmosphere with high ceilings and rustic wooden tables.  Our table outdoors had a sticky surface though.  I would have given a higher mark if our pizzas hadn't been cold.  Hopefully we just had some bad luck, where someone just forgot to notify us on time.

Great environment if you wanna go out with your friends and endulge in the authentic italian delicacy, the staff was very friendly and the prices were unbelievable given that the pizzeria is based near central London ( the classic margherita starts at only 4 quid). The taste, i having lived in italy for more than 7 years think are somewhat similar, if you've had a taste of the original italian pizza, pizza union are sure to give your taste buds a remembrance of the past. Although i believe the seating arrangement could be a little more comfortable and was astonished to see how they're menu offered such a small variety of pizzas, although I've found since all the pizzas are hand made their sizes and taste vary sometimes, I've gone to pizza union over 4 times this month and i personally think it's one the best tasting and pocket friendly places in london. Highly recommended.
Jesus loves you. :)

After reading the reviews on here I had to pay a visit and it was so worth it. You walk in, sit where you want and then go and order when you're ready. I went for a fungi pizza with extra pineapple and parmesan. The only one thing I was missing was some truffle oil, would have been unreal with that! You get a buzzer and then when it's ready you pick it up. The pizza itself was thing, crispy and hot, simply perfect.

Even though I was full I was told that the dessert there is the real star and I ordered the caramello, what a beauty it was. Pizza dough rolled into a ring and stuffed with mascarpone, salted caramel, peanuts and Nutella. When you cut in, it oozes out and is piping hot, oh so good.

Now that I have discovered this gem I am going to be back so often. And another amazing thing is how cheap it is! I would give a 5 but I feel like it's still not the perfect pizza, close enough though!

So we went there yesterday after a long flight from Delhi! As soon as I saw the place I knew I wanted to try it. The feel was quite welcoming and casual! You enter and you can smell the oven fresh pizzas and the melting mozzarella cheese! I knew exactly what I wanted. We ordered the pollo and the stagioni And of course the peroni beer! Topped it with the delectable looking olive cups they had kept made. The pizzas are a perfect size. The right amount of crisp and smooth to be able to roll and have the Italian way. We really enjoyed the meal and came out completely refreshed from the restaurant! Will surely recommend it to everyone visiting London.

I love a good pizza, especially when it is freshly fire-oven baked to perfection. A couple of people had mentioned I should check out Pizza Union just off Spitalfields as it’s close to where I work and also super good value. Which is always handy the last week before payday… oops. Well I am happy to report that I have found a gem of a pizza place! I really enjoyed my meal here. You walk into a large open restaurant filled with long wooden benches. The menu is hung high above the pizza ovens. Once you have made your decisions you go up to the tills and order your food and drink there. You get given a buzzer which flashes and buzzes when your food is ready, nice and easy. Oh and also prosecco is £15 a bottle. That’s right, £15! Perfect for an evening of pizza and long catch ups with a close friend. And it was a pretty good bottle too, bonus.

There are a great range of pizzas on offer and none over £7 – massive bargain! There are a couple of simple salads on the side if you wish to add some greens to you meal, we went for the Antica (rocket, tomato parmesan). We ordered two pizzas to share: Reine and Pepperoni. Both delicious with doughy bases and a good helping of meaty toppings. I hate it when places are stingy with toppings. And they’re nice and big too!

We spent a good few hours chatting away, making our way through prosecco and pizza. There’s a mix of people in here – suits from the city and east end folk. I like the vibe in here, great for a quick bite to eat or for a good chin wag. The pizzas are very good and at great prices; it’s minutes from Spitalfields market too so perfect for lunch mid-shop.

We went to Pizza Union, a fun and funky joint near Liverpool Street. As the name would suggest they specialise in pizza and the giant wood fired oven dominating the open plan kitchen indicates that they take their work seriously. The pizzas cook in minutes and their light crispy blistered crusts are maybe the best we’ve had outside Italy. It’s a super speedy operation, you place your order at the counter, they give you a buzzer that vibrates when you need to pick up your pizza. Job done. We started with a bottle of Prosecco (£15) which definitely whetted our appetite for the main event.

I had the Calabria, an unusual combination of n’duja (spicy sausage) marscapone and rocket (£5.95). I really enjoyed it, the contrast between the properlyspicy sausage, more like a paste, and the creamy marscapone. J had the Stagoni (£6.50) a quartered pizza with four different toppings, cotto ham, pepperoni, mushrooms and artichokes. For those who have food intolerances they also do a gluten free base that J vouches for. In our opinion, the best pizzas outside Italy we’ve had! Perfect thin crust and base. My only complaint is that the standard Shoreditch look (bare bricks, lots of glass) makes the restaurant cold and therefore the pizza goes cold quickly too. This is the second dinner this week that I’ve eaten with my jacket on, I’m starting a campaign to bring back carpets and curtains!

But save space for dessert for they do dough rings filled with Nutella and marscapone (£2.95), that are things of beauty. You might feel dirty afterwards but whilst it lasts it’s a joyous experience, biting into warm dough, feeling the Nutella squirt over your fingers. Go with someone who already loves you because this is not an attractive look (unless you have niche tastes…). J got the Caramello version (£3.95) which comes with salted caramel and peanuts in addition to the Nutella. Also pure filth but in a good way!

Go, the pizzas are cheap and great, what more do you want?

... It was fast. I chose the Calabria, which came topped with mozzarella, mascarpone, n’duja spicy sausage and rocket. The sausage was more like a sweet ‘n spicy porky jam than the usual sausagy pizza toppings, but it was delicious nonetheless, generously spattered across my pizza in great gobs of sticky meat.

A new pizzeria opened in January near Spitafields market on Sandy's Lane.  This restaurant is a massive space with high and lower tables and an open kitchen with the oven. The atmosphere is a bit cold, maybe because the space has high ceiling and it wasn't the busiest time when we went there. I came to Pizza Union for a late lunch on a sunday with a friend.  The concept is easy, you order at the counter, they give you a buzzer (same concept as Shake Shack), you find a seat and then you go at the counter again when your pizza is ready.  I had some doubt about the quality of the pizza when I saw the menu, it says their pizza are all 12 inch and price range is between £3.95 to 6.50. You can see their menu HERE . When I grab our pizza I was very surprised. I wasn't expecting a pizza like that for this range of price. I ate a lot of pizza this year and for the first time I think it was a very good value for the quality & quantity of toppings on it.  Some other places, you pay more than £8 y

Pizza Union is a restaurant with an industrial feel to it, but with added Shoreditch chic. The exposed breeze block walls, ceiling vents and long wooden plank tables with high stools work well with this restaurant's industrial theme. The decor also compliments their unique concept, to serve pizzas fast. Pizza Union specialises in thin and crispy artisan pizzas, fire-baked super fast in three minutes in a traditional pizza oven. Diners order at the counter, take a buzzer and find a table, and then collect the pizza when the buzzer goes off, usually within just a few minutes of sitting down – simple. The Pizza bar concept aims to provide all-day convenience, where diners can enjoy delicious fire-scorched pizzas in super fast time. The open plan kitchen, complete with large wood fire oven is also nice touch as it allows diners to see their pizza’s being created.

After chatting pizza on Twitter, AKBoogie and I decided a casual Zomato / blogger lunch meetup with KS_Ate_Here and Maybe It's Because was needed. As you'll see from their slightly more comprehensive reviews, we had a bloody good time. However I'm pretty bad at reviews so none of that here, short and sweet for this one.

This place is pretty much always rammed and there's a reason for that - a constant stream of customers and amazing pizzas for around a fiver each which is almost unheard of in London.  I went for a classic margherita which totally hit the spot... when's the next lunch meetup guys!?

I came here on a busy Wednesday lunchtime with a few friends and immediately loved the buzzy and communal atmosphere heightened by the long tables that encourage you to mix with your fellow diners.

The pizzas are thin and crispy (just the way I like them) with an ample dollop of topping. I ordered the funghi which was good if lacking a little in flavour. My friend ordered the fiorentina and I must admit I had more than a little food envy as hers was covered with fresh spinach and lashings of freshly-grated parmesan. I guess I know what I'll be having next time!

Rather than table service, you order at the counter and get handed a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready. Considering how busy it was, I was really impressed with how quickly the queue progressed and how promptly my food was ready.

And really, when all's said and done, a large pizza for less than a fiver? What's not to love?

My o my what a find. Alexandra Sims pretty much nails it in her review: "A 12" Pizza for £6 shouldn't taste as good as these do". Pizza Union is basically Pizza Express but without the pretense. It is just really yummy, thin pizza ordered through a simple, non fussy queue, and then eaten at long, community-like tables and enjoyed. Smooth, simple and successful. I went for the fiorentina (aka the one with the egg) and it was a delight, particularly the very generous layer of finely grated cheese on top.
Word of warning it gets pretty busy around lunch time, but that is my only quibble.

A 12" Pizza for £6 shouldn't taste as good as these do. Well, actually it should. They all should. More pizza places should start following suit and serve quality food with a value price tag.

Order at the counter and wait for your buzzer to flash and vibrate before collecting at the pick up point. I had the Stagioni with some garlic sauce for dipping on the side. I never usually have thin crust but after this I might just start. The cheese was nice and stringy and I didn't want to change any of the toppings. I surprisingly enjoyed the artichokes more than the ham.

They have a good selection of meat and veggie topped, baked, goodness served fresh from the fire in a lively, wooden cafeteria setting. From price to product there is nothing here to grumble about.

Gosh I love pizza, like really really love pizza. Nearly as much as a teenager loves their first crush. It's the epitome of comfort food - simple, straight-forward, heavy carbs which you eat to your heart's content then proceed to pass out afterwards in a blissful food-induced coma. There aren't many other feelings which can be considered better and like a drug, some of us (i.e. me...) find ourselves constantly chasing it. Some of us even take the time to write about that journey and today I'm going to take you along on my visit to an icon in the London pizza scene, Pizza Union.

Since introducing itself to the people of the City, Pizza Union has been delighting the masses with their menu of delicious super-fast 12" pizzas which are prepared and served at such speed, it easily fits into any lunch break. But operating in such a location, you'd think that service like this would come at a price - well, obviously there is a price but actually, it is incredibly great value with the price of a basic margarita pizza being only £3.95! Knowing this, how the hell can I be expected to look at an Eat/Pret sandwich the same way or even dare think twice about setting foot in a Pizza Express? It's really mind-blowing how affordable it is and makes you really ponder about the margins that lesser institutions are making for a vastly inferior product.

Anyway on this visit, I went for a straightforward margarita pizza - what I consider to be the measure of any pizza place and where the pretenders are separated from the contenders. Dough, tomato base and cheese - let the judging begin! The base here, super thin, was beautiful - not too doughy and so fantastically fresh. It was pure carb heaven. Tomato base and cheese were more than generous and finished off with a bit of chilli oil and flakes, makes any high street sandwich lunch look laughable.

So if I haven't made it obvious by now, yes I absolutely recommend this place is a must visit for anyone. Gluten intolerant you say? No problem! They cater for you here and having had a GF pizza by mistake, can tell you the base was just as good as the regular one. I've got such a crush on this place. Do you think they'll call me back...?

To say the bar had been set pretty high for Pizza Union is kind of an understatement. You see, although there are a lot of pizza places in this fair city, there aren’t many that offer a whole 11”+ pizza for under £6. In fact, I can only think of two. Fitzrovia’s ICCo, a pizzeria I have had more than a few nice words for… and the aforementioned, Pizza Union.

I’ll start off with the atmosphere and to be honest it’s hard for me to judge properly. We arrived smack bang in the middle of the working lunch hour, just when you would expect the place to be rammed… and it was. It definitely can’t be seen as a bad thing that so many people choose to eat there but I’d need to head back at an unusual time (making excuses so I can do an update further down the line) to see just how busy this place is.

The actual interior was really nice, deciding to not go with ICCo’s metal New York pizzeria feel and instead opting to go for the (you could say Hipster style) long wooden tables and stools. Thankfully we nabbed a table around the back where there were nice low benches, as I’m not exactly a massive fan of stools. I’m not a tall man and having your legs dangling from your seat like a baby does not exactly make me feel any bigger.

The ordering process was your now standard “Go to the front. Make your order. Grab the little vibrating piece of shit. Wait for piece of shit to vibrate. Piece of shit vibrates. Bring piece of shit to front. Get your pizza” affair, which I’m not a massive fan of. being beckoned never feels good, and being beckoned by a little round piece of plastic (shit) feels even worse. Whatever happened to people bringing you your food?

But, really, that’s where my complaints end. All five of our pizzas were cooked quickly and they all looked bloody delicious. I’ll admit it, Esin’s pizza looked the nicest, followed closely by Alexandra’s (unfortunately I don’t remember which pizzas they ordered. Hopefully they can let me know in the comments!) but my Pollo pizza wasn’t exactly an eyesore.

Topped with mozzarella, chicken, mixed peppers and olives, the Pollo was lovely. The crust had a nice crispness to it, which crumbled under just the right amount of pressure, whilst the main body of the pizza managed to find that fine line between floppy mess and thin and burnt crispy.

I really can’t complain about this place. Yes, it was too busy for my liking and I would have liked my pizza already sliced but Pizza Union is a great place to grab one of Italy’s most famous exports.

Will it surpass ICCo as my favourite budget pizza place?… No. There’s something about ICCo which draws me towards it every single time. I will definitely be coming back to Pizza Union but if these guys were next door to ICCo, I’d probably be saying something very different.

A great place with great pizza and great value for money. Ordered in from here last week, enough for 5 people, and cost me less than 20 quid! The Calabria was my favorite pizza and would definitely recommend pizza union to students across London, who get the munchies quite often and crave a quick pizza!

Good Service, Great Food and Best Value for Money.

Olives, nuts, pizza, salad, beer, Nutella. Is there anything missing from this list you couldn’t live off for the rest of your life? Exactly.

That’s the conclusion that Pizza Union clearly came to when deciding what to stick on their menu. Why make a mediocre job of loads of things when you can do a few things really, really well – and cheap as chips?

It’s hardly Art Deco inside but the place is still quite funky. High tables, neon signs and lighting that gives everything a red light district hue, it’s got more character then 90% of fast food gaffs nearby.

V and I grab a couple of beers and a pot each of olives and chilli mix, satisfactorily equipping us for man chat and award-winning banter.

It’s a pay-at-the-counter scenario which gives you a chance to gawp at the beastly pizza oven. No secrets here, it’s all made in front of you and served up as soon as your vibratey thing vibrates.

Both of the combinations we road-tested were very good. The calabria wasn’t overloaded with mascarpone and used a good quality spicy sausage – slight food envy as it wasn’t mine.

My Manzo meant serious business with healthy amounts of green chillies hidden under tasty minced beef and garlic. It caught me out more than once and got me spluttering for liquid, a success I’d say, given the regular half-arsed heat attempts from other pizzerias.

They must have bought a job lot of rocket from somewhere as it was piled on our pizzas & stuck out from every salad crevice. Thankfully it wasn’t too strong, nicely peppery without completely taking over. It’s worth getting a salad to share too – the Verdura was particularly tasty (although can’t imagine it’s a healthy option given the peppers, mushrooms, black olives and – shocker – rocket was ravaged with parmesan.)

The piece de resistance is their Dolce, a smaller pizza dough ring filled with Nutella and mascarpone. It’s a dream combination that’ll have you scraping the enamel off the plate.

Pizza Union is a business model that cannot fail. It seems crazy that nobody’s really cracked into the pizza market in a big way outside the family-friendly giants. You can see these popping up everywhere – and if they manage to keep the food just as reasonable and reliable, this could be your future go-to cheap eat.

A great idea of a restaurant, ideal if you love pizza and want a super quick lunch. You order at the counter, get a buzzer and sit down at one of the long tables. The pizzas are created in minutes, made to perfection (perfectly thin and not dried out). The prices are great, a Margarita being only 4 pounds. There are many toppings you can choose from. They even make a sweet pizza, with a Nutella (it is very very sweet).
Unfortunately they do not make gluten-free pizzas.

Yummy, affordable, super thin pizza. Their service is fast and you can see the pizza's being stone baked Infront of you which gives them a perfect chewy yet crispy crust, much better than oven baked pizza's.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Their pizza's start at £5, and they deliver when you order a minimum of &15. The pizza union in Spitalfields is right next to one of the biggest student accommodations in London so is popular with the students too, and you get all kinds of mixes of people.

The size of the pizza is perfect for lunch, and gets you the perfect amount of full.

I got to know of this place a while back and have been a regular here ever since. The place has extremely delicious pizzas, which are truly delectable and appetizing. The service is prompt and efficient. The food is also very-well priced. The atmosphere here is casual and has a great vibe. I would recommend the dessert pizza here, which is an absolute delight.

Would I Want Seconds?

Pizza Unions serves Superfast 12" Pizzas and the menu includes many of the standard favourites as well as a few new creations. As the pizzas are made to order, diners can remove toppings or add them to suit their tastes.

Popular choices include Calabria (tomato sauce, mozzarella, mascarpone, spicy sausage and rocket) fiery Vesuvio (tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, green chillies and cracked chillies).

We ordered the Florentina (mozzarella, parmesan, egg, black olives and fresh spinach) and Tropicali (mozzarella, cotton ham, pineapple and organo)and when both pizzas arrived they were thin and light with a perfect crispy crust.

These pizzas were just the right size to be able to finish one each, and my Tropicale was a delicious gourmet version of the classic Hawaiian.

It is evident that Pizza Union uses high quality ingredients with fresh fior di late mozzarella cheese and authentic San Marzano tomatoes used along with freshly made hand stretched dough from a traditional Italian reciepe.

Pizza Union also serve snacks such as nuts, olives and sauces as well as scrumptiously crunchy cannelloni. For dessert there are limited options, one of which is the tubs of gelato supplied by London gelateria and the other is their specialty, The Dolce.

The Dolce is a large and rich dough ring filled with Nutella and Mascarpone. The sweet chocolate and mascarpone work brilliantly well as a gooey mixture and a spoonful of the two is bliss. This is a large dessert and after a whole pizza each, one if more than enough for two people to share.

Could I Afford Seconds?

One of my favourite things about Pizza Union is the rock bottom prices. The twelve inch pizzas range from £3.95 for a Margarita and the most expensive is £6.50, which is ridiculously cheap for central London. These prices allow more scope for dinner to mix up the toppings and add a few more, as extra toppings are only £1 each.

Additionally the delectable Dolce dessert is only £2.95, which makes it a must try.

The Pizzas can be washed down with cheap drinks too, including a range of Italian beers for about £2.80, prosecco for £15 per bottle and wines from £11.50 per bottle or £3 glass.

Overall:

Pizza Union is ideal for good, fast pizza. The queues that form at peak lunch and dinner times are testament to just how good it is.

This is a good place to know about as the staff are friendly, the décor is funky with a buzzy informal atmosphere, and the fabulous pizza are super affordable.

Pizza Union offers a delicious and tantalizing rainbow of pizza-goodness, from Italian classics to American favourites! Thin crust, rich tomato sauce, and fresh toppings make for a lazy delivery-night with a gourmet twist!

Decided to order-in some food one tired evening, and knew I couldn't take anymore commercialized, over-sweetened, big name pizza chains. Not this night anyway. I wanted something that tasted fresh out of Italy!

Well, let me just say: If you're of similar mind, look no more! These Neapolitan style pizzas are the stuff dreams are made of! We ordered three to share: The Tropicale, The Vesuvio, and the Quatro Fromaggio, and each was a perfectly presented and outstandingly delicious doughy disc of tomatoey perfection!

The Vesuvio was definitely the most popular (but we are spicy fanatics!) The green chillies, cracked chillies, and spicy pepperoni erupted with flavour, lighting your tastebuds on fire! Quattro Fromaggio had an abundance of my favourite pizza cheese, gorgonzola, mellowed out with some of the milder cheeses.  The Tropicale managed to make the classic Hawaiian a little more gourmet through the use of fresh herbs. Oregano mingled surprisingly well with pineapple!

The service was fantastic. You order online through their website, and they give you updates  as your order is processed, pizza is made, and then once it's on its way to your home. Great, prompt delivery of steaming, hot pizzas!

Oh, and it only came to £18 for 3 pizzas and delivery!

Thursday afternoon, Her Fav Food invited me to join her for a late lunch at Pizza Union in Spitalfields.

Pizza Union is similar to what my American friends will know as Pieology - a quick service option for those who are craving a pizza but at a budget price and with the convenience of speed.

They serve "Superfast 12" Pizza" and the menu is extensive with many standards and favourites listed including Florentina and Tropicali. There are also extra toppings you can choose to add to your pizza for £1 each.

So after perusing the menu, Her Fav Food and I chose drinks from the cooler by the cash point where there was also a tempting selection of gelato in another cooler. [It's the little things but I was impressed that all the waters - even still water - were Italian products.]

After choosing your drinks, you are invited to purchase dessert (including 3 flavours of cannoli) and some nibbles at the register where you order your pizzas.

Her Fav Food and I ordered the Florentina and Tropicali with added mushrooms for her and added chicken for me. We also ordered a dolce pizza which is their signature dessert.

Then you are left to find a spot at either one of the long communal tables in the centre of the room or one of the few tables along the wall.

Once your pizzas have been ordered, they're quickly made and put into the large stone oven and before you know it - your order is up and waiting for you at the counter. The pizza trays can be hot so watch your fingers. :)

Now for the yumminess you've been waiting for:
The pizzas. They are thin crust and at 12" quite filling for the average person. The knives provided by the restaurant were also perfectly suited to cutting through the crust (important details, right?). I had if you recall ordered an extra topping of chicken for the pizza and while the chicken was good it felt alien to the pizza (perhaps it was the lack of flavour?) so if I go back I would likely refrain from the add-on.

* The Dolce * dough ring filled with nutella and mascarpone (£2.95)
It was quite large and easily fed the two of us. Is excellent for sharing.
We waited to eat our "dolce" until after our pizzas and it tasted just fine but I imagine right out of the oven its pretty amazing. The dolce made me think of a cross between a nutella crepe and a custard filled donut - rich and gooey. Only bad side is that the dough ring is not evenly filled with nutella and marscapone meaning some bites were completely bare of either whereas others were overflowing with nutella.

All in all it was a very delicious and filling meal. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming and the workers are all smiles and friendliness.

So next time you are hankering for a pizza, pull up a stool and give Pizza Union a try. With a freshly made pizza costing between £3.95 - £6.50, how can you say no?

Big thanks to Her Fav Food for the invite out and our lovely conversation and thanks to Pizza Union for the lovely meal. While my meal was comped, my opinions are all my own.

Great place to visit for lunch or dinner with quick service, low prices and amazing pizza!

Having visited four times and had a different pizza each time so far I've not had one that I didn't like. When they describe a pizza as spicy they definitely mean spicy. My favourite one so far has been the Marino with tuna, onions, mozzarella and black olives as it was a bit different to have tuna on a pizza.

It has a very relaxed atmosphere with diner style seating with long wooden benches and stools. The pizza is made in front of you in a huge wooden stove and served to you as soon as it comes out of the oven. If you are after a quick but tasty bite to eat then you definitely you should try it.

A great place to eat in London, fast and friendly.

The pizzas are beautifully cooked with an equally beautiful price tag. I chose the Giardino (£5.95) and I was surprised at how much you got for your money. You can also order an extra topping for a mere £1 extra.

Each pizza is made fresh, including the dough, where occasionally you will see the chefs practising their hand-eye coordination, making the dough into pizza bases.
The interior is modern and spacious for a laid back eating experience.

If I'm ever in the area, Pizza Union will be top of my list.

The pizza that i ordered had an awesome sausage called n'duja that i only tried in Italy so that made my life even better. The service is incredibly quick and the plates looks pretty cool for a quick lunch near the office. I'll come back for sure!

Welcome to Pizza Union, the latest uber quick, delightfully cheap and tasty super thin pizza place to arrive just behind Spitalfields. \

It’s spacious interior is filled with tables and benches for casual dining with a bit of an edge.

You will be presented with a square box thing (yes, a very technical term I know) which will light up, jump around and scream at you to go and collect your pizza when it is ready (or it will just flash and vibrate, but sometimes we have to employ a bit of imagination)!

Anyway, after almost no wait at all your pizza will be ready to gobble up. Takeaway is also an option and they are well stocked up with boxes for all the pizza you could ever desire!
So after we had devoured our pot of delicious olives (guzzling monster below not included), it was time for the pizza. The perfectly thin 12” base was well covered in cheese and our chosen toppings.

While I’d have liked a little more flavour in the pizza itself, a pot of herbs and a bottle of chilli oil were on hand for that extra boost.

The dips were a necessary addition for that dash more flavour and I’d have been a doubly happy bunny if there were pesto or balsamic options as the garlic was a little ‘dominos-esque’ for my liking. None of this prevented us both from inhaling the pizzas and when dessert arrived, there was no holding us back.

A pizza doughnut oozing with mascarpone and nutella sent us into the final realm of carbohydrate infused excitement and our meal was over.

For a bite pre or post pub, a casual dinner date or an office lunch, the atmosphere in Pizza Union is relaxed and welcoming. There is plenty of space and pizza-y aromas waft around the tables which spill out onto the patio outside (summer really is trying)!

Kemey and I dropped by for a midweek early evening dinner at new(ish)ly opened Pizza Union near Liverpool Street for a taste of its “fire-baked” and “super fast” stone oven pizzas. And? We were pleased with this all day pizza bar’s no nonsense approach to offering customers something tasty and quick at a great price.

I got a 12” Margherita with half of it covered with especially spicy nduja. On its own the Margherita runs an extremely affordable £3.95. Extra toppings are £1 each – and there’s a large variety of them. There’s a range of other pizzas too though, all of which are made using fior di late mozzarella and San Marzano tomato sauce and freshly-made, hand-stretched dough.Kemey went with the Fiorentina (tomato sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, black olives, and fresh spinach, £5.50) and enjoyed it. We had some Merlot (around 11 quid for the bottle) as well as a freshly baked and rather gratuitous (but nonetheless wolfed down) dough ring filled with Nutella and mascarpone (£2.95).

Service was speedy (and friendly). Indeed, the pizzeria prides itself on being able to get orders filled within three minutes. I found pared down dining area to be a pleasant enough place to hang out, and somehow even cosy despite being almost cavernous is size.

If I lived or worked a little closer, I’d be at Pizza Union all the time. As it stands, I’m bouncing in and out of the area on a fairly regular basis – and will definitely keep it in mind. By the way, I think they just started delivering locally.

Pizza Union brings ’Superveloce Italiana’ to Spitalfields, offering express Italian pizza at a refreshingly affordable price.

Tucked away on a cobbled street close to Spitalfields Market and Liverpool Street Station, Pizza Union may not be known to passersby, but it already has a loyal following. Open seven days a week, 11 to 11, it’s a great spot for a quick lunch, an easy after-work treat or a morning coffee and cannoli.

The casual restaurant has a lofty, industrial feel with exposed ceiling, communal wood tables and plenty of neon. The focus is solely on pizza, but there are plenty of different options, plus the chance to add extra toppings and cheeses for £1.

The concept is simple - order at the counter, take your electronic buzzer and find a seat while your 12″ pizza is being cooked in the traditional stone oven. It only takes around three minutes for the pizzas to be fired up and they are cut into slices and served immediately.

Pizza Union has a good selection of Italian soft drinks, so we went for a San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa and a Santal Pear Juice. We grazed on some delicious, juicy marinated olives before our pizzas quickly arrived.

I ordered the Stagioni (£6.50) pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, cotto ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, artichoke and black olives. The dough was thin, light and soft with small grains of Neapolitan 00 flour, not overly crispy like some thin pizzas can be. The tomato sauce was simple with a natural sweetness while the creamy mozzarella was generously scattered.

Steven tried the Pollo (£5.95) pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, chicken, mixed peppers and black olives. The large pieces of proper roasted chicken breast were so tasty and the thin slivers of red and yellow pepper added a fresh, sweet flavour.

Following pizza with more pizza might seem like just a little too much, but it would be a big mistake not to leave some room for Pizza Union’s incredible Dolce (£2.95). A baked dough ring was filled with oozing, silky Nutella and mascarpone, topped with icing sugar and cocoa. It’s a heavenly, decadent dessert plus it’s rich and substantial enough to share.

We couldn’t resist also trying one Chocolate and one Vanilla Cannoli (£1 each). The crisp rolls of bubbly pastry were generously packed with a smooth chocolate filling – perfect for a light dessert or afternoon sugar rush.

Pizza Union is a great find if you’re looking for tasty, high quality food served quickly. It’s not the kind of place to linger past finishing your meal, but the staff are very friendly and welcoming, so you don’t feel rushed. With such wallet-friendly prices and delicious Italian food, Pizza Union is somewhere I can see myself gravitating back to again and again, particularly if there’s the promise of a Dolce to split.

Fantastic pizzas at an intriguingly low price! With a place such as this, to find such high quality pizzability at such value it is sure there should be a catch, but I could find none! The service was quick and friendly, the food cooked fresh and the sauces perfectly complementary to the food. I could eat here once a week for the rest of my days and not grudge the 800-odd mile round trip. Stupendous.

Pizza exactly the way I like it! A thin base made with 00 flour with a handful of good quality toppings imported from Italy if need be and served the instant it comes out of a wood-fired oven. Don't ask me why but I NEED to eat it within a fraction of a degree of burning temperature. Pizza Union ticks all those boxes. I noticed they had Nduja (a fiery pork paste) on the menu which is like catnip for me so ordered the Calabria without hesitation. I hear it gets busy at lunchtimes but they're so fast its not even an issue. I wandered there in the evening waited 5 mins til pizza was ready, ate it whilst burning hot and washed it down with a Birra Moretti. My super efficient food incursion lasted well under half hour. As a very special bonus, the bill was less than £10 which is a miracle for this area. Miso grazie!

It brings me happiness to know that places like Pizza Union exist in Central London. Located in trendy Spitafields under the notoriously overpriced Nido student accommodation and a stone throw away from the similarly overpriced Hummingbird bakery, Pizza Union couldn't be more different to its neighbours. With cheap pizza and beer and a relaxed environment with no reservations and long shared tables, it's the perfect place to go when you want to get together with friends but you want to avoid spending the normal Central London restaurant minimum of 15 pounds a head. This is only furthered by the fact that you don't feel rushed to finish your meal and give up your seat. I have been here twice and both times, without realising, I stayed till they begun packing up the restaurant for closing time.

The pizza is pretty good considering its price, they are thin crust and cooked authentically in a massive wood bake oven. The menu is quite simple but still offers a range of considerable range of different toppings. Also on offer is some decently priced bottles of wine and Peroni and some other non-alcohlic beverages I haven't sampled. There is also a range of Italian looking pastries which I was to full to try but looked delicious.

I highly, highly recommend Pizza Union to anyone looking for a relaxed, relatively cheap meal in Central London.

Just yes. Everything about Pizza Union makes me happy. It's located right off 'Frying Pan Alley', and has to do its fair share of work to lure a customer in with the likes of Hummingbird Bakery and Kings Stores right around the corner. As a reasonably new resident of the area, I was always impressed by the pizzaromas that hit you as you walk by. It's like the pizza equivalent of Subway (but better).

I'm also a big fan of the set up itself - long sharing tables and just the right kind of light. The place tends to have a real buzz in the evenings, which is very infectious given the glass-on-glass-on-glass exterior. To add to that, the staff are informative and the food itself is topnotch, with the latter being very affordable (especially if you look at the price range of Spitalfields). I am also quite partial to it because it's an independent - given how chain-heavy the area is, I feel even more compelled to go here.

The pizza options aim for simplicity and variety. They're not into the commercial successes of rich cheese and tomato bases (much to my flatmate's confusion). Turns out authenticity can produce a very nice spin on fast-food. Serving time is impressive, and I have to recommend their "Pizza Alla Cioccolata" which I'm actually craving at this very minute. Do give them a try. :)

I work around the corner from Pizza Union, and visited recently after hearing all the guys in the office talking about it. They were right - what a find. The pizza is brilliant - thin but chewy crust and clearly high-quality fresh toppings, and made unbelievably fast in an enormous wood-fired pizza oven. Prices are unbelievable - £3.95 for a Margherita ! Quite a cool / hip atmosphere, surely with all the students in mind, and a really friendly and young staff. No doubt a new favourite.

What a great place this is. You know when a place is good when it is consistently busy throughout the evening. We tried the vegan veggie pizza which was the best I have had, I eat dairy and didn't miss it at all. There is a slight crisp to the base of the pizza . All pizzas are thin crust and come out very quickly. Only improvement is if there were a few more options for starters/sides as there isn't many to choose from. The atmosphere was great, casual with a warm feeling and not too chaotic.

Good quality and fast pizzas. Fairly thin bases so manageable portions. If you're visiting on a weekday lunch I'd recommend getting there before 12:15 - to beat the work lunch queues, which can stretch out of the door.
