What a absolute pleasure it was to stay at this friendly b&b , everything was just perfect from the communication before we arrived see if we wanted to book a table for our evening meal, the room was beautiful with little touches like to and coffee facilities , the breakfast was outstanding the service was excellent the staff so friendly and chatty couldn’t do enough for you . Would highly recommend .
Friendly, helpful staff, extensive menu and wasn't disappointed with the meal - it was delicious! Great stop off point when travelling down south (or on the way home), would go out of our way to eat here again. Highly recommend.
Called in for lunch with our pooch enroute back to England. Very welcoming to us and our Sharpei Tyler who loved the attention and appreciated the water. Food was great, extensive menu and beautifully presented. My husbands fish was enormous in a lovely crisp batter. Highly recommend this gem of a find just on the left as you enter Lockerbie from the south bound Motorway 👍👏
Excellent food served by excellent staff first time there but will defiantly will not be our last couldn't recommend it highly enough if your looking for good food in good surrounding's this is the place to go !!!!
Had booked a table for dinner on Saturday 9th December. We had pre-booked so the hotel had the full order for the 8 of us. The meal was absolutely first class! Not a single one of the party complained (and some of us are renowned fussy eaters!) The food was all served promptly, and all of the staff who served us were very helpful and friendly. A special thank you to the owner Stephen who made sure during and after each course that we were fine, and if anything else was needed. It was a lovely meal and good value for money - £22.95 for three yummy courses! It's a no brainer! Shall definitely be back!
had a meal at townhead last night food was delicious portion size was fab but couldn't finish it all.....my sister&I then had a few of there Moffat toffee vodka which was amazing thanks to all the staff for a lovely night.x
Was our 1st time at coming on Sunday food was excellent staff were great we were a family of 6 the only down side was the wait for our desert which I can't under stand why as it was not to busy at the time we were in but would definitely recommend and will be back in the near future �

This place is fantastic! Christmas day dinner here was gorgeous! The staff extremely attentive, warm and very welcoming! We all thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas day dinner and went home full to bursting, happy and very impressed! Just want to say thank you to all the staff for a great time and meal!!
Me and my dad stayed overnight last night and cannot fault anything, the bedrooms are immaculate and the food is just wow! Fabulous evening meal and superb breakfast, compliments to the chefs. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, will definitely stay here again and will recommend to everyone we know.
Yet again..... Another fabulous meal at The Townhead today. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food - just found another favourite from m the menu (King Prawn Langoustine was very scrumptious) and thank you to the staff looking after us. x
I havent been to the townhead in years and was impressed from start to finish. The decor is lovely and cosy and we were made feel very welcome as soon as we got through the door. The menu is extensive with a range of food from light bites to steak with all the trimmings. My dad had fish and chips and me and my mum had prawn sandwich and shared chips. Glad we shared chips as the sandwiches were massive. Dads had 2 big pieces of fish!! What a plateful but true to anderson style we ate the lot. The staff are a credit to this place. The young staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Well done everyone involved.
We were in Lockerbie just for a night, and our B&B suggested your restaurant. We had a relaxed, delightful, yummy dinner. Our server, Honor, was awesome, and a breath of fresh air. Loved her�

Was in a few weeks ago with my dad and my grandmother who are not from here. We went for lunch,they absoloutly loved it! My gran took the rest of her lunch home to ayr to finish! Love the townhead and the lovely staff! Please continue the great service! I recommend to everybody I know who asks😀X

Visited Townhead Hotel on Saturday night along with friends, beautiful food, presentation spot on, very friendly staff, Stephen & Jan you have a hotel to be proud of. Will certainly be back.
Stopped in today with My Wife and her Aunt and Uncle for a Birthday lunch. We were not let down by the food or the service. Huge portions of food served by attentive and friendly staff. Had a great meal. Would highly recommend. Nice, clean and warm environment. Love the decor and layout.

Had a terrific 2night stay here for a family wedding in Gretna. Staff went over and above to help and accommodate us especially Emellie who stepped in to do two hairdo's before her shift, absolutely gorgeous she did a fantastic job and the price was far too cheap for the professional work she did we can't thank you enough xx The hotel was 1st class, rooms were spotless with everything you needed and all the staff treated us with such warmth and friendship we felt part of the family there. Breakfast was one of the best we've ever had with all needs catered for. Thanks to everyone for your help with taxi's to and from the many venue's and also your help and understanding when all our key's got left at another location lol. Will definitely be recommending you to all friends and family and hopefully get to return to see you all in the future ❤️❤️❤️ xxxxx

Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Everything was really clean and had good covid measures in place. Great vegan options, would recommend the Bombay badboy burger. Excellent value for money.

Really nicely decorated dining area and the 12oz sirloin was simply divine! Asked for medium (friend I was dining with doesn't like the look of bloody) but came as rare. Fine for me to eat but to somebody else might not have been acceptable. An enjoyable dining experience that I would be happy to repeat.
My husband and I booked for afternoon lunch today and were not disappointed. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was amazing and will certainly be back for an overnight stay.

Our family of 5 ate here last night and i can honestly say the food was amazing. The steak and ale pie with champ(mash) was the best thing ive eaten for a long time. The staff were also lovely, would highly recommend.
We had a nice stay. Room was a good size and beds comfy. We missed the breakfast but they were able to bring toast, cereal and coffee to our room, which was nice. Staff is lovely, very accommodating with our late check in. Will stay again, thanks!
Lovely and extremely pleasant staff and the food was astounding, the atmosphere was great and the sizzling meals looked really tasty. There was also many vegan options.Sadly, I couldn’t stick around long enough to try out one of the delicious desserts, but I will definitely be returning soon!!!

The room was warm and comfortable and nice and clean for me personally would have been nice to have a bath but it was a beautiful shower and I can't complain about the size of the bathroom as it was a good large size.
Breakfast was well cooked and presented impressively. Staff were friendly and well-mannered, eager to help
Very nice stay it's not surprising that they have so many awards and have won 4 in a bed on channel 4.
The winner of the Channel 4 series 4 in a bed is certainly worth a visit. The menu may not be huge in choice, however it is certainly of good quality. With enough on offer to meet most needs. The staff take real pride in the venue and it shows with table service. Every effort has been made to ensure customers are safe despite the pandemic. All in all highly recommended.

Wee visit "doon hame" . Pleasantly surprised that a gastropub in the toon is so quality. Excellent food and service.
Stayed for one night. Rooms immaculate with everything you need. Including dressing gowns. Had an evening meal which was 5 stars and breakfast which was also superb. On checkout our car wouldn't start and the lovely landlord invited us both back into the hotel while we awaited the rac and gave us coffee. I would very highly recommend this hotel. Staff really friendly. Well done all and Thank you. X
Great stay, staff couldn’t be more helpful, room had everything you would need and more. Excellent food for dinner (great choice) and breakfast was just the ticket. Prime location with being able to slip off the motorway with ample parking and easy to find. Already looking forward to the next visit. 10/10 would recommend
