Tiny spot with delicious Indian cuisine. All of the meats for the tandoori mixed grill were perfectly cooked, the mushroom rice was fluffy and tasty, and the tarka daal was on point. Glad we stopped to have a bite.

Jealous I can't get Indian food this good near me in Glasgow. A constant stream of locals picking up takeaway, gorgeous flavours emanating from the kitchen, a sure sign it's a winner. Really enjoyed the food and very good and friendly service

Totally mind blown by this place. We were on a stopover in Lochgilphead crossing Scotland from North to South and ended up in one of the best Indian places I have ever eaten. Fantastic service and amazing quality. I am sad I won't be able to easily come back!

Booked the day before, got a table no problem. Really clean inside and seems to be busy with collections. We had the mixed tandoori and veg pakora starters, with a beautiful yellow sauce. Followed by garlic naan, two chicken dishes and two different rice's. Really tasty food and friendly staff, you can bring alcohol if you wish we didn't as they have a good selection of cans. Couldn't fault, would return.

Booked an evening table. Staff very friendly and hard working. Place is small but the food is excellent. Down side is no bar licence and slightly cramped. On the whole brilliant πŸ‘

There are various ways of assessing an establishment. Uppermost among them are first impressions; they rarely deceive. The gentleman who greeted us at Lochgilphead's Taj Mahal was full of smiles and took the time and trouble to advise on various dishes. The popadoms were crisp, the pickles generous, the prawns delicious and the jalfrezi packed full of flavour. Although the Taj Mahal does not have a licence the McColls around the corner has a good selection of drinks for sale by a jolly fellow. The restaurant is spotless and every diner was happy to banter. There is a good atmosphere. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening. It was much appreciated. Nick and Hilary.

Super tiny place but is such a cute hole in the wall. Would be awesome on a bright sunnny day to enjoy the curry over looking the kids park and water. The garlic chicken tikka was super delicious as was the soft nan and well and basmati rice . Portion serves two well . The owner was really sweet and personable as well

Small but perfectly formed, this 24-seater, main street Indian restaurant facing Loch Ghilp. The food was excellent and quickly served one of the best Indian meals I've ever had and not expensive.

The Taj Mahal saved our evening! Best restaurant in the small town of Lochgilphead! The guestroom is small amd the ambiente seems (on first sight) a bit β€žcoldβ€œ. The food is absolutely delicious, the prices are more than fair and the service is great! We would come here again anytime!

We are visiting the area on holiday, we called in as the restaurant was opening on Tuesday 11th July. The food was excellent and our waiter was so attentive and helpful, if we are ever in the area again we will definitely be paying you a visit. Thank you.

The finest curry I've had in years. Everything was cooked fresh and with skill. Worth a visit to Lochgilphead alone. Thank you.
