Food in this place was terrific. Unfortunately we were the only people in there that evening but the chef told us that they were full the next two evenings! The presentation of the dishes was really good. Really worth trying if you are on your way through to somewhere else. I'd book in advance.
I arrived after a rainy day on the bicycle and was greeted with warm hospitality. Peter and the staff went out of their way to make sure I had a comfortable stay. The room I stayed in was charming and the bathroom was very clean.
The food was delicious too. I'd come back any time!
We turned up without any notice and Peter welcomed us in to stay the night after an unpleasant experience at a hostel. Staff were all friendly and Peter went out his way to cook us dinner the same evening, it’s the little things that go along way. Definitely coming back next year for our yearly Wale
This is my second stay at the Drovers Rest and I wasn't disappointed.
My husband and I were welcomed with a pot of tea and a lovely piece of homemade cake, by Peter, the proprietor.
We had booked in for three nights and ate in the restaurant on two of those nights. The food was exceptional. Beautifu
We had an amazing meal at the Drovers Rest on Saturday evening. The food was Michelin star standard and excellent value. Definitely recommend booking in advance, as limited seating at present times. Good service and the atmosphere very friendly.
We stayed at the Riverbank bed and breakfast, which I
We've loved this place! The whole atmosphere was fantastic, the waitress was very nice. We were told in advance we had to wait 25 minutes for food and got some chips with the drinks. Then we got the starters even a bit faster. The food was delicious! This restaurant is a gem!
Thoroughly enjoyed my first meal at the Drovers Restaurant Wednesday lunchtime, the homemade vegetable lasagne was superb, creamy and delicious, dessert was more than excellent with hot creamy custard. A BIG thank you to Peter and staff for amazing food and their hospitality. Definitely will retu
Whilst on a cycling trip in the area. We stayed at a nearby Bed & Breakfast and this was the nearest restaurant.
In terms of what it delivered, it was SO much more than just a local restaurant.
The standard of food was way above expectations. It was imaginative, beautifully presented and ingredients
Absolutely outstanding experience. The staff were friendly, attentive and clearly took pride in their work and the food they offered. The food was exceptional. We were delighted with our time there and will definitely return. Most highly recommended.
Unbelievably amazing food!! Came across this by sheer chance when looking for a place to stay for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show. The meal I had here is by far the best meal I have ever had. Very unassuming place tucked away in the middle of Wales. Make sure you go here it's incredible.
Ate here on Wednesday evening and really enjoyed the experience. Such a friendly and personal service, every detail had been thought of. The food was excellent.
This place is quite a surprise! Looks small and cosy at the front, but outside at the back there is a terrace on the river, see photo. Wholesome Welsh food, famous for Leek and Potato soup, really good!!
Went here for Sunday dinner with friends. Wonderful place recommend booking for Sunday dinner. Lovely atmosphere, good food good service reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again when in the area again
Lovely setting, everything so clean and sparkling. Nice touches, sugar cubes lovely China and teapots. There were butter knives and serving spoons. We only had time for tea and the most delicious cakes but going back for lunch soon.
Stayed overnight with a cycling club in the spring and HAD to go back with my partner. We stayed for 3 nights (the £220 for 2 nights for 2 people, B,B&EM) and an extra night just B&B. Food is fantastic, service is perfect (thanks, Shay), and Peter (chef and owner) is such a nice person.
