Such a wonderful place. We have been here before but just for a drink, came for my dad's birthday as a group and it was wonderful. We had the mixed grill and it was absolutely amazing, the kitchen staff went to such great lengths to provide such a tasty and well presented plates food. Such great hosts, thanks again x

Fantastic little pub. Great beer and food. Lovely, old fashioned atmosphere and they let us sleep in our van in the car park as we'd had a meal. WCs open all night too. Will definitely be back - although hopefully next time Grimsby will beat Wrexham 😅.

Historic pub in a beautiful River Dee valley near Llangollen. Under new ownership and open daily from 1030 to 2230. Two well kept local ales on tap. Handy for local mountain walks

Terrific old country local. Small, atmospheric. The pub food looked excellent. Happy to host motor caravans. We only popped in for a delicious pint.

Great pub with lovely owners. Very welcoming and kind, didn't try the food but drinks were well priced and good. Remember to bring cash as backup as Internet for card payments is intermittent. Fantastic views in the valley and well placed with a small car park as well.

Great to see that this lovely pub is open again. Jonathan and Carol are doing a great job at revitalizing it. The beer is local and a cracking pint. We didn't eat but the food looked and smelled amazing. We'll certainly be back. Well worth a visit. Thank you both

What a gem of a place ! If you want rural & to go back in time this place is a real find! The owners Jonathon & Carol have recently took over the premises which had been out of action for many years. Carol made us the most wonderful food, which is pub grub at a reasonable price, all cooked from scratch, we had our toddler with us and she bought us out all the things to keep her happy. Jonathon was a great host & looked after us with a good selection of drinks. The pub itself is 17th Century, very small & cosy, with just 3 tables, every one chats to each other & it’s great talking to the locals about the area.. We stayed overnight in our motorhome as this place is recommended in the camper van bible. If you’re looking for a friendly local pub, where the food is lovingly handmade, and you want a good old chit chat, whilst nestled is the most majestic & stunning surroundings, then this is your place. Jonathan & Carol if you get to read this we want to say thankyou so much for your hospitality as we didn’t get to say goodbye, we’ll be back tho 🌟💕😊

Didn't try the food (but we plan to go back and try this weekend hopefully!), but the beers were good and reasonably priced. The owners were lovely and views from the beer garden were pretty good too :)

A great find yesterday. Parked here to walk. Was open from 10.30. Very friendly welcome and good choice of drinks for such a small pub. Had delicious homemade soup and chips. Would definitely visit again

Stumbled on this place at the end of a long walk and couldn't resist a pint. Sign on the door reassuring it really was open and a really warm welcome inside. Great pint of local Llangollen Bitter and chat with the landlady. Could have sank many more but unfortunately had to drive home! Will definitely be back

Very welcoming, stayed overnight in car park, the only thing that spoiledit was a local dog that barked all night. Otherwise would return.

A quirky old drovers' inn in scenic setting. Home cooked food and a warm welcome. Not gastro, not plush but if you're looking for something less touristy than the more obvious stops, it could be up your street. We'll definitely be back!
