We have had a fantastic 2 evenings here whilst on a break away in llangollen. We went on Friday evening for a drink... We were well looked after, the staff were attentive, the wine list is phanomenal, the place is cosy and the music is really good. We enjoyed the ambience so much that we decided to eat there on Saturday evening, we were lucky to get booked in and it was very busy so would advise booking in advance if possible. The food was beautiful, we had a few starter portions then we could try more dishes- would recommend as we wanted to try the whole menu... The host advised us on different wines with different dishes and all were very reasonably priced. Top tip: Have the yoghurt desert and sweet sauvignon blanc, it's something I wouldn't have ever tried but was something else. Thank you Gales, we'll be back!
Had a really great meal here - the best steak I've had in ages! Delicious food, interesting cuts of meat prepared beautifully, great wine. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Plus the chef has a super adorable dog who comes to say hi. We will be back. Soon (is that a threat or a promise?)
The food here is fantastic! Variety of drinks spirits, beer, wine and knowledgeable staff to help. Also a wine list that breaks it down for you for those who know what they like and then myself who doesn't really know wine. The rooms are lovely and staff are friendly and very helpful. We have been a few times and had a fantastic evening each time the atmosphere is brilliant, local residents pop in and are really friendly.

I can't recommend the Gales of Llangollen enough. A fruitful selection of gin, good food, excellent room and the friendliest of staff. It's just a shame I'm on a flying business trip. A***** from me.

Absolutely lovely the staff were so friendly, Pip went through everything on the menu with us explaining how everything was cooked. The food was delicious. If I lived here I definitely would go back (but I live in Liverpool ) If your passing definitely go and have a meal, you won't be dissappointed x
Lovely place, excellent room, excellent location. only grumble is I think cooked breakfast should be included in the price, with the cost of the room you would expect a cooked breakfast, not have to pay extra for this.

Hated that we found this place the day before we left. Our anniversary dinner there on 2 November was the best. Hope we can make it back again someday. Absolutely the best food.
Our room was like the Tardis, bumped your head going in but oh boy, once inside it was huge. Llangollen is a lovely town on the River Dee and the Gales was a most hospitable resting place. Good food, beer and wine, comfy bed.
Great food, lovely atmosphere and good wines. The steak was beautiful and the oreo pie delicious. Amber's mille-feuille was excellent too.
