Had birthday meal here with family. The staff are all excellent in what they do. Really friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Food was enjoyable too. With free refills on drinks you can't go wrong

Called in on the way back from walking along the Millennium Coast Path. Long queue to order food despite there being 2 staff taking orders. This seemed to be more an issue with the ordering system rather than the staff. Once ordered, the food was delivered fairly quickly. Staff were friendly. Reasonable prices.

The Sandpiper, Brewers Fayre is located in Llanelli, West Wales. Brewers Fayre is a budget style restaurant offering a great value food, on a budget. They feature a value offering during the week of 2 meals for only £8:99 (prices may have altered from the time this was written) We pulled up to the car park to find it almost full, so started to wonder if we were going to find a table. Upon entering we were greeted by the Manageress who welcomed us and asked if we She then asked if we had any allergies and asked if we would like to sit inside or outside in the new patio area. Since is was extremely hot we opted for the outdoor patio. If you use the car park, be sure to validate your registration on the iPad upon arrival! The outdoor patio is new and features standard tables and chairs as well as high seated benches. There is an outside bar situated to the left as you walk outside, so you don't even need to go back inside to get another drink - fab! The patio area overlooks the Sandy Water Park Lake which is a lovely view while you relax in the open air. If you didn't see the 'Brewers Fayre' sign you would honestly think you were in an upscale restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant as well as the patio area are all on level ground making wheelchair access easy. An accessible toilet is available and does not require a RADAR key for access. New to this restaurant is the 'Whip'd Ice Cream Station', where you are able to mix and create your own ice creams complete with various toppings. There is of course a small charge for this. There is a QR code on every table which allows you to see the menu on your phone, however, you are still required to visit the bar to place your order. This was explained to us by the waitress who passed by our table and was also keeping all the tables clean, as well as helping other guests. She was doing a great job and was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the Breaded Mushrooms and Potato Dippers for starters and we both had the Smothered Chicken for mains. Our starters arrived relatively quickly, brought out by another Team Member who was also friendly and smiling. These were piping hot and tasted great, although the diced bacon on the potato skins was very scarce. For drinks we had the Coke refills which work out at exceptional value for money if you want more than just 2 refills. The available choices are Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Orange Fanta, Lemonade and Dr. Pepper Zero. Each of these is available with a Lime, Cherry or Vanilla shot if you choose. The refill station is located inside for you to help yourself. There is also an ice machine as well if you want your drink extra chilled. Shortly after we finished our starters the lovely waitress came over to clear our plates and asked if we had mains to follow? We said we did, so she said she would let the kitchen know and advised us they shouldn't be long. We thanked her and went to refill our drinks. Before we new it a Team Member was brining out our mains, Smothered Chicken. This comes with chips, coleslaw and garlic bread slice. The smothered part of the chicken has BBQ sauce, slice of back bacon and melted cheese. The chicken was juicy and tasted very nice, and was not burnt underneath which sometimes happens. A visit to the toilets is unfortunately where things were not so good. The gents toilet was not that clean and had a very strong stale urine smell which was extremely unpleasant. The hand sanitiser dispenser by the patio entrance was not working and also dirty. This is not something I expected considering we have just come out of a pandemic. (This information has been passed to the restaurant.) Upon leaving we were thanked for our visit by the Manager. However, overall our visit was very good indeed and very affordable, even if there is a group of you. It's the perfect place to go if you are on a budget or fancy trying out some new cocktails. We would definitely recommend, and will certainty visit again if we are in the area.

The Sandpiper is a reasonably priced chain pub, very similar to Wetherspoons in terms of the food options and quality. If you want a nice easy cheap meal out, then Sandpiper will do well in a pinch. But it might not be the spot for food connoisseurs or very good conscious customers. The Pros: You can get a table without booking 80% of the time. Even so, it’s smart to call ahead and check. But they are usually willing to accommodate large groups on short notice. Staff are very accommodating and put up with a lot (bless them). They deal with drunks, complex orders and wild children quite often, so they really deserve praise. Has a pretty good selection of food options, provided you are fussy or specific in what you eat. If you are a meat eater, then you’ll have a lot of options. The venue often has live music events that you could enjoy on the right day. Good sized children’s play area with cameras for your child’s safety. Between face painting, indoor jungle gym, and arcade video games, most kids will have fun while waiting for a meal. Good spot for highly energetic children. The Cons: Limited menu for vegetarians and vegans. You may have to settle with asking for substitutes for certain things, which is more awkward and risks getting forgotten or mixed up. The food itself isn’t really out of this world tasty. For around £10-£15 per person don’t expect a flavour extravaganza. It’s a budget chain pub, which is great for certain occasions, or catch ups. But definitely not high class experience. Decor is dated and reminiscent of ages past. I don’t like to think how many drinks have been spilled over the sticky tables. Not exactly unpleasant to be in, but nothing special. The original brick walls add some nice character to make up for it. It’s usually pretty packed inside, especially on a weekend. You might want to plan a meal in the week for a more quiet relaxed experience. Overall The Sandpiper is a decent place to eat if you want decent but not amazing food, somewhere to entertain the children while you wait, and isn’t too tough on the wallet.

Fantastic service at the bar as we ordered our drinks. We were made to feel very welcome. Great chat with the two people who served us at the bar. Great outdoor area to sit and have our drinks.

Lovely staff, we walked about a mile to get there as we weren't too far away but they seemed to have plenty of parking, the food was really nice.

Popped in for dinner. Standard Brewers Fare! Burger a little on the greasy side. Sweet potato chips very good. Chicken salad OK apart from, you get the whole brest just plonked on the side of the plate.. If they had just cut it up into strips it would present much nicer. All the rest fine.

Great soft play for the kids, you are seated where you can keep an eye on them, you can also eat in the soft play area and kids meals too. It can get quite busy and noisy and it is not 100% secure with only a push door between the play area and the main pub with outside access. Otherwise very good.

We arrived for a late lunch so service was quick. Food was good. Lovely setting by the lake with the swans and a fenced off play area next to the outdoor eating area so you can see your children. Umbrellas on every table so you're shaded. Friendly staff.

Whitbread chain pub adjacent to the Premier Inn where I was staying; this is one of the best of its kind. I had brunch twice and dinner once. It was very busy, particularly on the Sunday evening, but there were enough staff to cope, so no unreasonably long waits for food. There is a lake right beside the pub: "Sandy Water Park" - see my photos.
