Nice location for the gaming community. Great selection of games, CCG and memorabilia. Staff helpful and food was excellent. One note for the CCG in particular magic the gathering single card sales is there is some discrepancies in card prices and prices that are charged here so be sure to check

Had a great time, came for the Grand Opening and stayed from 11am to 3pm, had some milkshakes which were delicious, some food that was very good, and bought some geeky merch like a Funko Pop and some Pokemon cards. All-around awesome day and we will be back in the future.

Great gaming cafe with free games to play, lots of different weekly events, lovely drinks, including vegan options, games to buy, friendly staff. Family friendly . We would be interested in there being more games to buy, which is the only reason for 4* rather than 5*.

I want to liked this place since it has stuff I'm interested in, mainly DnD but it has been super frustrating to try to partake in DnD. I don't know anyone else irl that is interest in it meaning I can't go to a friend house to played DnD. Thought this place would be perfect for me. Thanks to my work schudle, it basically impossible to played DnD on their days they host it (Saturday and Wednesday) as I only able to played it once. That being said, it wasn't a proper one per say as I was the only one that attended meaning another staff had to played with me. I still enjoyed it but I still want a full experience of it. They did updated so that it was Saturday and Monday instead which is great as I do have Monday off most of the time. Instead however but it seen no one attended on Monday? If they do come back (temporary close as I type this), I hope they rethink the days they host DnD or a way to attract more people. I'm under the impression it wasn't popular as I don't think they had hose it every week? Before you mention why not played DnD online like Roll20, I can't stayed focus on the computer screen for 3+ hours due to home life situation and hence why I want to played DnD more in person.

Lovely place to go for a game of magic or even chess. Food is a little pricey but well worth it. I had ice cream and waffles over a game of ticket to ride and it tasted heavenly. The customer service is impeccable. P. S. If you are asked which chips you would like, ask for the curly fries!

Visited here to escape the rain during our short break to Llandudno. Really glad we did as it’s a great place to chill out, play fun games and enjoy tasty food. They really do have a fab selection of games. My 2 kids really loved it and it made the rainy day one of our most memorable. Got to give credit to the staff, there was only 1 guy working but he was great and really attentive. Can’t wait to go back

Coffee and milkshakes brilliant. Great choices of geekery. Staff friendly. Not sure if all black chairs are like it but both chairs to the left of the door as you walk in start to feel it will collapse as the legs slide outwards... all members of group tried of varying weights so wasn't that and the purple chair was fine.

As a secret geek it’s great to see that places like Geek Retreat are so relaxed and easy going with a fantastic selection of books, comics and games to choose from you could spend hours soaking in the culture! I will however strongly recommend the Bacon and Cheese Dog with the Jaffa the Hut milkshake. Real winner. Hope to be back again soon!

Touristing around Llandudno, found this perfect Geek hideaway. Comics to read, game console to play on, tables for games. Perfect. Wife and kids both play Magic so couldn't resist spending money... Immediately got invited to the tournament this evening as well 😀. If your a bit of a geek, and if you have some time to spare, do visit. The place does however feel a bit like a cards-tournament-center (or a high school cafetaria) than a shop/cafe, which makes it feel a bit awkward if you step inside. Perhaps make the place feel a bit more approachable for those of us who are not hard-core Magic, Pokémon or D&D players . Maybe giving some other (geeky) (card or board)games a more prominent place as well(?) Unless thats the specific public you want to attract. --EDIT-- Considering the actual purpose and idea behind this place (as described by the owner), changed to a 5 star rating!
