This little hidden gem is amazing. Booked for an overnighter as went to see Coldplay. We had lovely fish and chips in the bar last night and a delicious breakfast this morning. Our room was perfect with everything you need. It's set in the country but got taxis back and forth to Cardiff Stadium. Would highly recommend this and would return again. Staff lovely and helpful.

What a find. Comfy clean room, delicious food and helpful staff. Only recommendation is to try and find some locally sourced sausages for breakfast. Breakfast was great but let down by a tasteless (Richmond??) banger.

Warm welcome, clean comfortable rooms. Superb food and a wholesome breakfast. Oh and they sell beer!! One of many reasons I stay every year when working in the area. A little gem hidden away in a sleepy village. If you're passing, pop in . You won't be disappointed.....

Great place to stay, very welcoming owners. The rooms were well decorated and very comfy. Food good and well presented. No mobile signal but it was quite welcome for a change. Stayed for business and will request this place next time I am in the area.

Lovely, clean, quaint hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were so friendly and went over and above the call of duty to make us welcome. The food is really excellent even down to their breads and jams which were all made on the premises. I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I took my older sister for Sunday day lunch on her Birthday. We had fabulous food (would highly recommend the vegetable risotto! ) wonderful service. Beautiful tranquil surroundings. Situated next door to a lovely old church which we walked around before we made our way home. Will definitely be going back again

A fabulous little place in this tiny village but amazingly close to Cardiff And all its surrounding areas. Everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable. Top quality bed linen, tasteful furnishings and even the tea caddy and toiletries are up there with 5 star hotels. The food was just delicious with a good choice and well deserved of its recent AA rosette. The staff were friendly and the bar very welcoming with its log burning fire. The fact that dogs are welcome to join you at dinner and even stay in the rooms is also a big bonus and has no bearing on the cleanliness of the facilities. I would definitely stay again if I were in the area and would highly recommend to anyone who happens to be passing through!!

A great Country Inn. Staff friendly and welcom8ng and establishment clean and reflects some history from century back in some of the building work. Don't be put off by the country roads, well worth stopping here. Food - excellent. Rooms - above average and comfortable.

It was ideal for the Walking Festival that i was attending. All my walks within easy reach. Nice country village, interesting church next door. Comfortable bed. Good menu and food. Close to Barry, some busy roads to join. Many attractions close by.

Very nice country pub. Beautiful location at the heart of an old and picturesque village. Large beer garden with a stream running past Did not have food but there was a good selection of beers and lagers at fair prices. No play area for children.

We stayed overnight at their on site bed and breakfast, the host Emily was very attentive and accommodating. Lovely en-suite room, it has all we need, clean linen, cute little window overlooking the village. What a pleasant stay.

What a wonderful pub and hotel! Emily, Aaron and their team were exceptional in hosting our pre-wedding evening meal and drinks for our friends and family. They put together a fabulous evening and both of them and their team went above and beyond to create a perfect evening for us all. The meal Aaron and his team produced was incredible, and everybody was very impressed, the dessert spread was insanely good! Thank you so much, Stanze and Jonny x

My partner booked this place for my birthday, the night before we stayed in a 5 star hotel and I would say the fox and hound was so much better. They were welcoming and so friendly, they catered for all our needs. The breakfast was delicious and plenty to chose from. Our stay was really comfy and the shower was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back.

Looking for a place to stay for a few days on our Honeymoon that would take dogs (we have 2 English Pointers) and this place jumped out at me. Staff were really friendly and they loved the dogs. We had a superior double room which was excellent. The food is just fantastic (as was the beer), vegetarian choices for the wife and some great options for me. If you go though you have to try the steak. Simply gorgeous. The village of Llancarfan is really quiet and pretty and I spent a good few hours strolling around with the dogs. I can't recommend the Fox and Hounds Pub high enough. Pay a visit, you won't regret it.

I’ve not been here since I was a student and it was the only place to get a decent pint of Marston’s! It is now a hotel and restaurant and we went for Sunday lunch. First, we were delighted that they had taken on board our request for a gluten-free menu; and even more so that the menu included practically everything on the main menu, including fantastic Yorkshire puddings! Food all round was beautifully cooked and service was lovely. It’s a dog-friendly venue which usually puts me off but it was not a problem here.

1st time back for a very long time. Last time I was here the restaurant was upstairs. That area is now several guest rooms. The restaurant is modern and they serve traditional good quality food. I had the sautéed mushroom starter (The roll was gluten free) The Lamb main. (Asked how I wanted it cooked. Love mine pink) was tender and moist with sautéed potatoes and mixed veg. I finished off with a glorious white chocolate and raspberry Crème Brûleé. It was great to speak to both Aaron and Michael (The chefs) in the relaxing and cosy bar area afterwards. They ask for and embrace feedback. The whole front of house and kitchen team are young and excited about what they do and want to make things the best than can. Overall a great experience. I will pop in to sample the lunchtime menu as well soon. P.S. Forgot to mention a nice selection of Wye Valley Ales.
