A stunning restaurant, beautiful inside and out and the food, just wow!! Meat was very tender, melted in my mouth, plenty of choice with potatoes, and a wide range of veg, including mashed carrot and suede which I absolutely love. Granddaughter ate every last bite, we app did. You really have to come here to try it yourself, you will not be disappointed. Staff, especially Jo Jo, as soon as she saw me on my mobility scooter, she held the door open for me, greeted us with a smile and shown us to our table. She came back with a children's menu for my granddaughter and crayons for her to colour her menu.
This restaurant really is absolutely amazing. Will definitely come again.
What a find! Located in quiet and beautiful park. Amazing building and rooms (huge) inside here🤩Feels like you are in a museum or an expensive restaurant but without high price to pay. Great for family with kids as well (see my comment on that). Especially parents with little kids would know how difficult to relax in a nice place for a meal…
Food quality is decent but it’s generous and keeping the price so low (felt like they were subsidised!). I know already many people mentioned but the great selection of cakes and desserts…They are massive and look fantastic!
Food is great value for money, a family favourite for us the only place we go where it’s calm and we can enjoy our food in peace even with the kids. Staff a very welcoming and always happy to help.
Lovely food ,beautiful garden to sit out and enjoy the scenery .staff were very helpful and friendly.
It was our second visit today. The service was better than our first visit a few weeks ago. We really enjoy the Carvery which I prefer over Toby Carvery. Today staff were super helpful. We chatted with Jo Jo, she is a caring, compassionate and understanding young woman. We will be visiting on a regular basis as the building and surroundings are so lovely. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and childrens’ play area for the fine weather.
Fabulous place! Would highly recommend.Lovely food and staff are so friendly and helpful .Thanks to Sarah who served us today a lovely lady x The Hall and grounds are beautiful. Will definitely go again.
A little disappointed in the food, the steak was flavourless, a couple of our party experienced vomiting afterwards once at home too, not the standard we have experienced before, the haloumi strips were not cooked enough, felt like they were rubber. The service, the room was superb it was a busy tea time and I know we weren't the only party there plus families they had there too.
Regular diner here anyway but first time booking for Christmas and it did not disappoint. Really fantastic job and well done to the staff for giving up their Christmas Day with their families to work. Food was immaculate as always and atmosphere was really enjoyable, Will be booking here for Christmas again! The food was quickly brought to the table as well considering how busy it was. Only thing I would say is the queue was really big for the carvery but that is to be expected on Christmas Day.
Not only is this building itself absolutely stunning but the staff (polite and helpful) and the food is simply perfect.
On this day I had a carvery, all the meats looked much better than most places; and the sides selection was more than standard too.
Everything ran smoothly and staff where very helpful indeed, seating was swift and without problems.
The interior of the build is a perfect addition to having your meal and drinks, giving a nice warm and homely ambience.
Family's , solo and couples , everyone is welcome and the facilities are also very good.
A park outside for children, lots of space outside for dog walking and lots of outdoor seating.
Over all a lovely experience, if your after food out and about , don't hesitate to choose this location, you won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed a carvery today for Mother’s Day. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table promptly. Service at the bar was quick and efficient Joanne was so helpful and Emma on the ice cream bar was brilliant with the kids. Perfect family atmosphere.
Stopped off for a carvery on Sunday the food was all served hot and full always constantly replenished and cleaned. The service is always friendly and polite they can't do more for you! It is definitely one of my favourite go to pubs in that area!
Two big plus points for this place. It's in a lovely historic building. And it wasn't a bun fight to get food like it often is at a cauvery on a Sunday. In fact it's probably the best carvery I've been to. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Came for a meal this afternoon with my wife and her elderly parents, who are in their late 80s. They had fish and chips and I had the gammon egg and chips. The meals were served promptly having been freshly cooked, they very well presented, the fish and chips according to my in Laws was lovely. Unfortunately when I cut into the gammon, I noticed that it was undercooked! I bought this to the attention of a member of staff. They apologised and arranged for a replacement meal to be prepared. It was bought to me once it had been cooked, it was delicious, the whole meal was cooked to perfection. The food was excellent quality, quality and value for money. All staff were lovely. Thanks to all concerned, we'll be back soon đź‘Ś
Breakfast with Santa was absolutely amazing! The value was unbelievable đź‘Ź Full help yourself breakfast, unlimited juice, tea and coffee and for the kids a Santa hat, reindeer food, jigsaw, selection box, gift from Santa, letter to Santa and a nice list certificate too. The Santa was brilliant, very patient with nervous children and I love how they had the space to make a little grotto away from the other diners. To top it off the food was lovely too and the little crackers on the table were appreciated by the kids and adults. Every little magic touch was thought of and the whole place was beautifully decorated for the kids.
Absolutely will be booking this again next year!
I've been here many times & had lovely carvery each time. Staff are very pleasant too. We booked for 23rd Dec & had quite a disappointing evening. The carvery veg was rock hard & we got the impression it'd sat out for hours. The plates were still on the table when deserts were served & we had to ask for them to be moved. This was definitely not the usual service & and standard of food. I'll go back & try again. Hopefully, it was a one-off.
We come have been coming here a long time , and seen many changes of owner and managers over the years.
But the last week we have been twice and have not had a bad meal .
We came tonight just me and my husband and had a carvery.
There was plenty of fresh meat and vegetables etc and the service was very good.
Staff were tentertive, and friendly.
Will definately be back soon .
Joanne was particularly friendly and on top of removing empty plates , glasses etc .
