My family have visited Liverpool from Derby for the first time this week staying Monday to Friday. We spent ages looking for this lovely shop and cafe and we were so pleased to find it! We had a lovely lunch and a look around the shop! Found some lovely little gifts to give as presents! Such a lovely friendly calm place to spend the afternoon in the week before Christmas.

Gladstones is Liverpool's hidden treasure. Located on Slater Street, Gladstones offers a haven with wonderful staff who are always extremely helpful with my 4 young children (don't let the steps to entrance put you off, the staff or passes by are always happy to help with pushchairs). Food is delicious, well presented and reasonably priced. Child portions and free children's cordial drinks are available. In addition, the café is attached to a bookshop full of spiritual gifts and books. You will not be disappointed by your visit.

Fantastic peaceful place with the peace of God there. The cafe and the people in it have helped so many down the years. People who had no hope have benefited from this shop.

Delicious fresh salad and lovely feta and olive sandwich, the ploughman's lunch is huge and there's a great selection of cakes and drinks, all served in a calm cafe environment. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a great place for a quick, affordable lunch in the city centre.

This store is difficult to rate as i love this coffee shop and it's got lovely food as well as great service. However the entrance is not disabled friendly and the 18 steps to the toilet is a little off putting. I have given this shop four stars as it has excellent service but it really needs to look at the entrance and toilet facilities for disabled access

Great place to pause, have something to eat and drink, and maybe but a book or two

They made a lovely tuna baguette for lunch! Only disappointment was that I couldn't look properly at all the books because some of the cafe tables were too close to the book shelves for me to browse without getting in the way of other customers

A superb little hideaway. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Warm, friendly, spotlessly clean and the food and drinks are excellent value for money, beautifully pepared and very tasty.

I enjoyed a really delicious chicken delight flat pizza bread and unlimited salad, the service was also very good especially with it being on a Sunday. I would highly recommend the Pizza Hut, St Helens, especially before or after visiting Cinemaworld or the shops in the town centre.

Friendly staff. Good coffee 😊. Nice selection of books. We use an upstairs room for a prayer meeting once a month and that's a good facility.

I go here quite often, the staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. It's lovely just sitting there with a coffee/tea and browsing the many Christian books.

The food is lovely, and the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Great service - but avoid busier times as you may end up waiting...

Good food and a great place to meet up with friends. The books are fairly limited but it does have a good value second-hand section.

Quiet, lovely staff.such a lovely contrast to quick food joints. It is also a Christian bookshop so if you feel the need to read about the ontological arguments for God's existence , here's the place for you!

It's ok. Friendly people. Could improve a bit more. Specially the person at the till should be able to considerate other people in the queue..... instead talking to one person for a long time.
