This place is chill and that’s what I love about it.
The crew are very friendly and accommodating.
The food was okay but nothing really special about it.

Very nice Spoons, but the food had less quality than other JDs.
We asked for Eggs Benedict, but they were overcooked and with a tiny mushroom (in other spoons the egg is well prepared and even some rocket on top).
Same vibe as any other spoons.
We received an unclean silverware when our food arrived.
Had a burger and a apple cider drink everything was excellent
Whilst staying at the Travel Lodge, this has definitely become our local! This pub has been our go-to, serving a super breakfast, lunch or evening meal, all good value for money, and is always open when everything else is closed! Thank you 😋
Loved it here at The Captain Alexander. It is a large pub with lots of seating. Toilets are downstairs. The food was hot and tasty. Good location from The Docks.
For us as visitors to the city this place captured us, such a great feel to the place..very busy on both occasions.....the staff were excellent, efficient, purposeful. The food on both visits was lovely, I watched the prep of the food and it was so clinically prepared, not one finger touched the food...brilliantly prepared..(I'm a bit of a hygiene freak)..
Liverpudlian folk are lovely, they are so friendly, I felt as part of one of the locals...Yes definitely will return to the Captain, as the management here hit the brief...on all of my requirements of a public house...10/10..
Had breakfast here. Good value for money. Food was cooked fresh and quickly.
First visit into Liverpool and came out at James Street station 🚉 so this was ideal as it's only across the road. Really friendly atmosphere and very well staffed, dinner was spot on and with drinks thrown in you can't beat it for value. As an added bonus it has a roof terrace as well. Turn left and you are on the Water Front and Turn right and you are in the town centre and only 5 minutes away from the Cavern Club .
Went in for a quick meal and service was fast , friendly staff and pretty decent food!!
Liked the bacon was grilled propperly and not soft and fatty like some of the other weatherspoons.

Rolled into Liverpool late and was really hungry. Most places were closed or not serving food at that hour. Walked in The Captain Alexander had a seat and all six of us were fed a perfect meal. Awesome atmosphere. We loved it!

We loved coming here for our breakfasts during our stay in Liverpool. The pub is pleasant, clean and air conditioned during the summer, and the staff is friendly. Water is provided next to the coffee machines. Great view by the window facing the James Street station exit teeming with activity.
Great quality food and quick service. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice place lol cared close to waterfront and train station, but if you come in the evening it can be very busy and noisy
