Was here yesterday for dinner and the food was amazing quality and so cheap for what you recieved. Great service from all staff especially one guy with an English accent and black curly hair. Would highly recommend this place to anyone I know visiting. Will definitely return next time I am in Liverpool
Love it !! Looks great, staff lovely, food gorgeous ... highly recommend the whitebait and steak sandwich ...a welcome addition to the business quarter.
Great place for food & drink Reasonable priced The staff friendly & hopefully Would definitely be back on my next visit
Like so many pubs and bars these days, the Old Bank is quite literally an old bank. A grand building with a lot of old features, presumably kept or leftover from when the building was actually a bank. High ceilings, big old windows and a grand central bar area with seating to three sides.
I've said repeatedly and commented in my other Liverpool based reviews that Liverpool is one of the friendliest cities, and the staff at The Old Bank were/are no different. They were really chatty, happy, helpful and so friendly. It's how the city is and almost everyone that we've come across has been exactly that, happy and friendly.
We popped in for a few drinks before heading out for our evening meal. We viated during Happy Hour, with IPA on tap for a pint for £3.50 👍 and two-for-one cocktails for £9 - and that was for the same or two different cocktails, which is good, as so many place restrict two-for-one cocktails to the same one; so that pleased Mrs G.
Another good thing about the Old Bank was the live music, a good singer who didn't kill any of the songs that he sang. Plus he didn't take a break in the hour or so that we were at the Old Bank. So a good atmosphere and music appreciated by everyone.
Level 9 Google reviewer; 1,000 plus reviews, 1.5 million views and over 12,000 photos with over 45 million views and still going strong 💪. Although I'm not enamoured with Google and their service at the moment 🤷🏻♂️. They're inconsistent.
Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.
First time trying the dish 'Scouse' and I am glad I did, I understand it's a staple of the Liverpool food scene. I was searching for a bowl of this hearty stew all over and couldn't find any, until I by chance stumble across the Old Bank.
Washing it down with a very good pint of Guinness I was more than satisfied and didn't need to eat until way later into the evening (it does the job).
The pub itself lacked a bit of atmosphere, but I think that may have been circumstantial to the time of day.
Staff were friendly, and service was quick.
We popped in on a friday for some dinner and drinks. The staff were friendly and polite.
The food was spot on and it had a brilliant atmosphere. When we went there were 2 live singers one after the other which was great.
And i loved the character of the old building. I'd definitely recommend this pub.
I just love this bar. I've only ever visited for drinks so can't comment on the food.
This pub was beside our hotel, so it was convenient for us. We had breakfast one morning and another evening we went in for drinks and entertainment. The service was very good on both occasions. The live music in the evenings was excellent. The drinks were nice. Breakfast was okay, not amazing, but not terrible. I would return again for the drinks and music.
Update - I love to get a response from the owners!
This place is perfect to go and watch sports. It would get 5 stars if that was all you were looking for. Loads of big screens, the sound is on and you’ll be able to watch from multiple different areas.
Average selection of beer, with a few not available or glasses over the taps. One choice for white and red wine. Not the best but fix that and it would be 5 stars.
The service at the bar was ok, but they are so passionate about their recycling that they love to slam their glass bottles into the recycling bucket at the bar….let’s quietly save the planet! 😉
Want somewhere to watch the football with a nice cold pint of Carling……this place is perfect! Nice decor and high ceilings the place too.
Excellent, tasty dish of scouse. Lovely singing and guitar accompaniment made our evening.
Loved this old bank turned into a large pub. Great for watching football and the food is excellent. Scouse stew delicious.
Had Sunday roast here, it’s was very tasty and reasonably priced but the meat was a little over cooked for my preference. Lovely staff, charming place with lots of seating. Definitely will return.
Love the inside of this place. Different from usual bars. Decent atmosphere, started getting busier as the afternoon went on. Prices on drinks were decent.
Great bar with good beers 🍻. Live music though out the day, would recommend Ben Burke singer for a good afternoon entertainment.
Was in today for a roast dinner which delightful. Staff very kind and helpful, with some lovely music on. 10/10 would go again!!
Fab drink offers and great staff and atmosphere
The staff are always friendly and go out there way to help the meals are good the only thing it gets busy and sometimes they have different options and you are visiting a historical building the staff are friendly and helpful if you have a preference they'll try and sort it and it near the liver building and near the trains
I have been going through the meals on the menu and the food is very good
Service is a little slow. They may be understaffed.
The food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable.
Just popped in for a quick drink however we decided to have something to eat. With it being Sunday, the Sunday roast was chosen. We'll, I have to say, it was bloody lovely. Tasty, nice and fresh and plenty if it. Reasonably priced too at £10.00. Would highly recommend.
