Went for a look with my 11 year old. His first time in art gallery. He really enjoyed looking at all the fine art and studying the brush strokes on the oil/acrylic pieces. We both had a lovely visit. The staff were all exceptionally pleasant and helpful too. I particularly enjoyed my pot of tea at the end of our visit too, really nice cuppa!

My second visit to the gallery, again with my sister who was on a visit to the North West. The gallery itself housed in a fabulous building made the visit even more interesting. There is so much to please the eye and educate the mind. Well worth a visit by young and old.

The first visit to The Walker and received a very warm welcome from a gentleman staff member who read through the guide with us. Beautiful building with very extreme old to very modern art. Well worth a visit

Really enjoyed the Mucha exhibition, probably the best gallery outside London, definitely the best gallery in the North of England. Definitely be going again.

Absolutely excellent exhibition, amazing exhibits and information and the staff were amazing too!. I managed to break accidently the wall mounted information thing and they were brilliant and funny and kind about it. I was embarrassed but they were just lovely. My favorite Gallery and staff. Thank you for a great day xXx

Came to see Grayson Perry’s dresses which are amazing, but there’s so much more. Some of the most informative labelling I have ever seen. Obviously used as an educational resource. The art galleries are world class. And it’s free. Thank you Liverpool.

I was a bit concerned about bringing my 7 year old, but there were so many fab interactive activities to keep him occupied. Beautiful building and great exhibitions.

We decided to have a morning trip to the gallery (a rare child free day & a decision to do more of things we don't normally do 😊) so we opted to have a look round the Alphonse Mucha exhibition & pay for the tour. It was definitely worth it, tour guide (Simon we think) was enthusiastic & knowledgable, brought the art to life and made it lively & interesting. Considering we are novices to the arts we completely enjoyed it & are keen to learn more. Would definitely recommend this. We will be visiting again with and without children 😄

Fabulous exhibition. Mucha is one of my favourite artists and to be able to see his work in the flesh was amazing. Loved the flowers at the end of the exhibition, we enjoyed taking some photos with them. Bought some souvenirs in the shop too.

Visited the Singh Twins exhibition Slaves of Fashion an eye opening history lesson in Empire, Explotation and it’s continuing influence on contemporary India and the UK beautifully portrayed in a series of illuminated panels and statement works. An absolute must see!!

Having never visited an art gallery in my 59 years, this was a wonderful experience. To see these beautiful paintings 'in the flesh' was a truly fantastic holiday event. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The sculpture was amazing but, to see the paintings of the masters was an incredible thing. Thank you Walker Art Gallery for giving me an education in art.

Despite all the scaffolding, lots of lovely art within. Optional £5 donation on entrance and you can 'rent' a locker which is really handy for shopping bags! Ladies toilets just inside main entrance door on right. A small shop and cafe behind the reception desk. We paid extra to look at the John Moore's 2023 exhibition. There's some very unusual interpretations of what is art, but each to their own!

There was building work outside, but once inside this was a nice peaceful art gallery spread over a couple of floors, with paintings, sculptures, constitutes and objects. It is also very convenient for Lime Street Station, Empire Theatre, Central Library and the World Museum.

It was great to visit this place today, again- after so many years! Spotless clean, nice and warm. Easy to spend hours room by room. The permanent gallery is a little bit old, should have some different art to display. The temporary exhibition is normally for a small amount of money also a great opportunity. Coffee shop and souvenir shop on the ground floor. Fully accessible for wheelchair users. Yea, it is a must destination. The ‘only 5 stars’ is because not well upgraded collections.

Amazing collection of artwork. I love that admission is free, making the art accessible to everyone. Has a really cool sculpture room, modern art, renaissance and baroque art, it’s just a very entertaining and educational space.

Another visit to the Walker Gallery with the family. What a great experience with two new Renaissance rooms. The sculpture room was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyable and the staff were really nice.

Pretty little gallery with some standout works from Seurat, Freud and Lowry. Definitely worth a quick visit if you're wandering through Liverpool's Greco-Roman highway.

Really wonderful gallery - so many paintings - and some interesting features. If you love paintings it’s well worth a visit. I was very impressed and shocked by the slaves’ shackles in the classical sculpture gallery and appreciated the group who had made the intervention, and if they read this, I would have appreciated even more information and context.

There is a good collection here, from paintings to sculptures to daily necessities, and it is free to visit. The only shortcoming is that the lighting design of the oil painting area is flawed, and the reflection makes it difficult to see the details. For example, this cat cannot be viewed from the front, only from the side, because it is highly reflective.
