We'd booked the courtyard as it was our wedding anniversary and we had seats for the Royal Court Y.N.W.A. performance. We had no idea what to expect and downstairs was lively with tables but not what I was hoping for on this occasion ....however we spoke to a waiter, as we had booked a table and we were shown upstairs to the restaurant. The staff were really helpful and our waiter was very attentive and was able to answer our questions about the choices on the menu. The food was served quickly and the portions were a good size for tapas. The steak I had was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Everything that was served was tasty and we really enjoyed our experience. There were good views of the gardens and St George's Hall and the Empire theatre. We really enjoyed our visit and would recommend the courtyard. We will be returning for another tasty meal.

Just finished a meal there prior to a show. Despite being nearly an hour late we were seated immediately. The service was lovely the cocktail expensive but delicious. The vegetable platter was lovely and would be a meal for one on its own. Definitely only need 2 other small plates if having a platter I think. There was more than enough to satisfy so I had no room for dessert sadly. Might have to go back just for that. Will definitely visit again if in Liverpool

The Old penny Farthing is gone (Thank God)!! Now The Courtyard!! next door to The Royal Court Theatre is a great venue to meet friends enjoy real ales, great food in lovely surroundings. You can just have a drink and bar snacks in the downstairs bar or on the massive decking area outside or a meal in the upstairs restaurant which must have the best view in the city. A warm welcome from the well trained bar staff who know there stuff when it comes to cocktails. Very highly recommended.

Very early pre theatre meal had a drink in the courtyard before go up to the restaurant. Pleasantly greeted and shown to our table(great views of St George’s Hall) Staff explained how the food was served as being tapas. Food came at a steady pace, says small plates on menu but generous portions and great quality & cooked to perfection. We had six tapas bottles of wine just right for two and fantastic value. The staff are very knowledgable and attentive without being in your face. A great start to a fantastic evening would definitely recommend.

Our first time in the new Courtyard. As we were looking at the menu a party of ladies were leaving and told us how lovely the food was. And we were not disappointed! Really good selection of light bites small plates/ tapas style but great portions. Perfect for a quick bite before the theatre or whilst out shopping. Service was quick too.

Just enjoyed an excellent meal, good value for the size of the small plates as very tasty and filling. The location is fantastic, overlooking St George's Hall with very efficient and helpful staff. Will certainly visit again.

First time I had been to this bar , friends and I called in after we had been to a show next door just for a drink , staff were well trained and very welcoming , you have the choice of sitting inside in a very smart bar area or outside in a lovely decked courtyard , definitely worth a visit . I have arranged to go back with friends for lunch 🥂👏👏

Booked a table for 4 people for 12.30pm on a Saturday for a pre-theatre meal. I am not from Liverpool and found Courtyard Bar and Kitchen ok Google maps just looking for restaurants in the area. I am pleased I chose here! We all ate different food, though I had the spring vegetable risotto which was delicious! Also had a side of hummus with pitta bread which again was spot on. The meal ended up cheaper than I expected as they had a discounted offer on "pre-theatre" which I hadn't been aware of. Staff were attentive and had good customer service skills. After our meal we sat outside for a drink as the weather was quite nice out. They have outdoor heaters which makes it even better for the colder days. All in all we had a great time.

Squeezed us in early on a matchday which was great for a quick stop off for a lunch. Staff were super friendly, chatty and engaging as well as attentive with stuff like drinks. All three courses arrived quickly and were of decent quality, particularly the pitta breads to start. Atmosphere rather strange with fairly loud music but expect this is a positive in the evenings. Views were fantastic and overall a reliable and cost friendly lunch option on the set menu!

A decent set menu with reasonable price, especially for theatre night. You can find vegetarian options as well. Nice city centre view, close to train station and St. George Hall.

Our first visit and we were not disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff, good choices for wines and beers and excellent food. All that and in a pleasant environment. Excellent all round . Only drawback for some is the restaurant is accessed via stairs.
