Absolutely loved it here! Had two freakshakes and a hot chocolate; it was more than enough for three - we didn't need to eat anything else that day! Loved that the whole lot was fresh and the care the waitresses took over making them was fantastic. Altogether a really lovely experience and would return.
My only issue was that when the three of us arrived we were told there were no tables available despite there being a few available. No one else came in during the time we were there so we were confused to why we could only have a bar seat?
Quick and good service. The drinks came very quickly to the table with complimentary m&m shot glasses. Quickly serviced and good was lovely. I had the eggs royal with salmon which was very well presented. The atmosphere is very relaxing and laid back. There’s parking just outside pay and display. Otherwise few others in the parallel roads. Overall I would recommend as a place for breakfast or lunch.
Happy experience, lovely food and very polite and helpful girls serving, freakshake was superb but beware of belly ache! The only downside was the amount of flies that were irritating us while we ate, probably our fault for sitting near the door but never mind...
Decent brunch. The Masters Full English was generous. Was a little busy but food came quicker than expected.
Had a lovely hot chocolate which was fairly priced. Staff very helpful and nice atmosphere. Definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
Only ate desert here but it was fantastic. Other than the price (which may put some people off) I couldn't really complain. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was very welcoming.
Absolutely brilliant! Wonderful service and staff were lovely with our children. Food was so tasty and a great portion size too. Our children's faces were a picture when their freak shakes arrived. Fantastic! Thank you and we will definitely be visiting again soon!

Had breakfast here with my wife. Coffee was nice, service was quick and friendly and the food was lovely. We both had Canadian Breakfast with Cinnamon Butter and it was heavenly. Reasonably priced too. Location is a little off the beaten track, but it is worth the detour from the centre of town. Also better to give your custom to a smaller business

Fab food in a fab venue. The cafe is relatively small and so reservations are recommended.
Menu is good with some really good meals available.
The shakes are well known and absolutely obscene but has to be done!
They do sometimes run out of food because they're that popular so definitely worth a call ahead of arrival.

A nice venue with friendly staff. The food is nice, and hot drinks appear to come with a hot glass of sweets which was an unexpected but welcome surprise. They are most famous for their 'freakshakes' which have to be seen to be believed and definitely should be experienced at least once.

Best breakfast I’ve had!
I’ve visited Barley & Beans with my two babies and my partner a few times now and we are absolutely loving it! The place is cosy and the music (which is great in taste btw and offers loads of throwbacks) is great in the background so you can still enjoy conversing.
The layout is helpful as it allows me and my partner to fit a double pram next to our table so we can eat with our babies next to us. The staff are extremely attentive and so so friendly- always presenting us with a warm welcome.
With regards to the food you are definitely paying for quality. Not once could I fault it, always cooked perfectly! The produce they use are so delicious and the chefs skills help to compliment this. TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU EVERYTHING IS COOKED WITHOUT FAULT! FRESH, HOT AND DELICIOUS!!
Portion sizes nicely fill you and the tea pot sizes are - to me - generous.
By far the most tastiest breakfast I've ever had, me and my boyfriend absolutely love this place and rave about it to eachother. Going to enjoy it whilst I can on maternity leave as unfortunately for people that work 9am - 5pm this clashes with breakfast times. Most definitely will be making time for this weekends and on days off.
