Maray on Allerton Road has fast turned into our favourite restaurant in the whole city. Food & service has never been anything less than excellent on each occasion we've been there, and the cocktails are superb. Can't recommend the place highly enough.
We eat out a lot and are fussy about where we eat and always honest with reviews about the food and service. This was the best food we have eaten in years and fantastic service. We only went to try Meat free Mondays.. can’t wait to go back 😜👍.
We have just had my sister's baby shower at the Allerton Road restaurant this afternoon and it was fantastic. The staff couldn't have done more for us, excellent service and the food was beautiful. Would really recommend the upstairs for a special occasion. We had 20 people and it was perfect. Thank you so much to all the staff xx

Food is exceptional in taste and presentation. Love the fusion feel, the vegetarian choices and the hint of Italian feel about some dishes and digestive liqueurs. If you're a sea food lover try the octopus!

We arrived at 11.15am to an empty restaurant that soon filled up. Our waitress was extremely polite and attentive and explained thectwo menu.s.. the food ordered was hot.plentiful and very tasty.. i would definately returnxxx
Been coming here for years every since Jay Raynor reviewed Bold Street in the Telegraph. Service excellent, even letting us taste some wine before we decided. Food was delicious but the cauliflower was half the size it used to be
Yes to nicely prepared food, that seems fresh and healthy. The menu offers very tasty options, it's not the widest selection, but this helps narrowing down to better quality food. The cauliflower is always a hit, I'd suggest you share it with someone, as it's huge. Cocktails are also nice, a bit on the expensive end though.

Only 3 cocktails on the menu nut i suppose that's more of a food place than drinks .

Every so often on my gastro travels I come upon a little gem.MARAY, Allerton is not a little gem,its a very shiny gourmet diamond not to be missed. Firstly chef/food designer.... hats off 2u...u are a culinary genius ...full stop.Your taste combinations are simply stunning and will not be found anywhere else in Liverpool I can bet...because one will not find a better dining experience than a visit to Maray. Yes people...you HAVE to try the Disco cauliflower in house special (pictured below)..but I have tò say my roast chicken was delicious and the amazing gastro side support made it THE best chicken dish I have had in years.Yes, for the first timer there..the small portion/great tasting model could perhaps be a little better explained.... both online and at table.....as it is actually a tricky concept to both explain and get right.And yes...the timing of the arrival of dishes ordered could have been better on the night....BUT NOTHING is going to mar what for me, was one of my best ever gourmet dining experiences internationally...and I shall be singing ur praises online on other food media platforms in order to ' share the love' for other diners...the love and skill that the creator of these dishes obiviously has for their food vocation. And it is a vocation not lost on your 'foodie soulmate' here. Sorry I didn"t get a chance to shake ur hand sir/madam...As stated..u are a food genius...thank you and congratulations....u are at the top of your game!
Had a gorgeous Maray tonight. We ordered: Bhajis; Disco Cauliflower; Buttermilk Chicken; Aubergine Shawarma; Chips & Hummus; Braised Carrots. Cost £40. Tasted amazing. The Bhajis might be our new favourite (difficult to knock the disco cauliflower off the number 1 spot).

I hosted my ladies lunch here today. I had never been to Maray before but from the moment I walked in, I was really impressed with the ambience and decor. We ate in a private dining space upstairs which was ideal. The food that was served was really good and the service was excellent. I would definitely eat here again.
I never thought cauliflower could taste so good 😍 Thoroughly enjoyed the menu, a huge varied selection of a lot of nice Middle Eastern/Mediterranean inspired dishes. I’ve seen some complaints about pricing, but we went as a table of 5 and spent less than 20 a head with drinks and had a smorgasbord of food.

Food..
I will start with the food, I am vegan and my wife isn't. So it's hard to find a restaurant that has good selection of food for both of us. The menu was great and had a really good selection for both of us. I must say that the falafel I had is the best that I have ever tasted! All of the food was delicious. The chocolate tart was to die for and all the food was presented in a way that made it look fantastic. We particularly like that each dish was served as soon as it was ready.
I had a beer recommended by my server that was delicious, called love lane I think. Keep that on tap! My wife really enjoyed her G&T as well.
Service..
I though it was very easy to book a table online and appreciate being able to do this, although I don't think we needed to book as there were plenty of tables. Our server was lovely, she was laid back and had Great communication skills an made it feel like a relaxed environment. She was knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. She's a really value to your restaurant.
Environment
It was very cozy, the music was great and it felt both up market yet relaxed in here. I liked the decor and the plants. Also enjoyed being able to see in the kitchen. The chef looked like he loves his job, I loved that.
Price
The food and the drinks were great and definitely worth the price..best meal we have had in a long time.

Lovely anniversary meal. I like that the plates come out as they’re ready. I had whipped goats cheese, disco cauliflower and halloumi and couldn’t finish it all! Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere.
Small plate food. Tried 6 different plates and each one was delicious.
Nice little restaurant with some really tasty small plates and cocktails. Of course the disco cauli will always be a fave. Nice staff to guide you through the menu if it's your first time.
