Service was brilliant. Portion sizes are great for the money! Wish we would have seen the roast dinner option - other diners had this and looked incredible! We had a range of starters, mains and desserts and no complaints or issues from anyone. Food amazing as always and we were able to bix some up to take away! Highly recommend

Food is always lovely. Would always recommend the lasagna and the carbonara. My top 2 dishes, didn’t really like the spaghetti bolognese as much but still okay. Drinks are lovely and not too expensive.

An elegant upmarket venue presenting authentic Italian cuisine. The ambience is most certainly upper class and the food does not disappoint. On the contrary its a sensory delight from start to finish under the expert guidance of Sicilian native Enzo, the maitre d. His years of experience have allowed him to horn his craft to a level few can only dream to reach. Make Il Forno Liverpool your authentic Italian experience this Christmas.

The restaurant is beautiful, the food is amazing, special mention to the risotto and tiramisu which were outstanding, but the staff is lovely and very attentive, 100% recommended and the price is very good for the quality they offer, before leaving Liverpool I will come back.

Wonderful valentine's menu, and we were well-looked after by the excellent Daniele.
In terms of food, the lobster thermador was delicious, and the perfect size for a starter. The fillet steak was melt-in-the-mouth, and definitely a good choice. Shared desserts were decent too.

The second time we've been here and it was just as amazing as the first. We initially sat down at another restaurant and decided it wasn't for us. We ended up in Il forno and it didn't disappoint! Delicious food, luxury surrounding and fantastic service will have us coming back again soon. My husband is Italian and enjoyed every last bite.

We had a delightful evening here. Randomly chosen as we walked past but such great food and service. Some special dishes prepared at the table are a nice touch and fun to watch.

We had a lovely dinner here whilst on holiday in Liverpool. We were seated by the open kitchen which was great as I love to see whats going on!
I had the pumpkin risotto which was deliciously creamy, and Craig had the sausage pasta dish which he enjoyed. We also shared a garlic pizza bread which was tasty, but perhaps too much as we then had no room for dessert.
I would definitely recommend Il Forno as the food was brilliant and affordable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Horrible...and not gluten free!. I called ahead to inquire about gluten free options as I am a coeliac. They said they could accommodate without problems...instead, I am horribly sick after eating there. The starter tht they "accommodated" was rather disappointing as it was only the salmon delivered on a plate minus anything else listed on the menu. The main dish I ordered was risotto as that is something I have always been able to get gluten free without any changes. However, this time, they told me that the risotto was NOT GF and substituted the rice for pasta..awful tasting pasta. Not sure what they did,but I have sick for the last hour. How can you mess up so many things? Next time, just don't say you can accommodate GF...because you obviously cannot! To top it off, I ordered an espresso to close the meal while everyone else had dessert (I was told that nothing was GF, including the ice cream) and it was burnt tasting. The worst meal I have had in england !! I wouldn't even suggest eating there if you are not a coeliac as my husband and two others in out party also had extremely bad experiences with the meals they chose.

For those working in education, summer is always a time of change and goodbyes and this year was no exception. After a meal at Esteban earlier in the week I found myself out again with colleagues to say goodbye to God (my work colleague not the omnipresent deity, though they have been mistaken in the past). So, on an exceptionally warm July evening, I entered Il Forno on Duke Street along with God and ten other disciples. Service from the off was very good and, in the comfort of the waiting area, we were offered antipasti nibbles and a Morretti beer whilst we waited for our full complement to arrive. “So, on an exceptionally warm July evening, I entered Il Forno on Duke Street along with God and ten other disciples” Some short time later we were escorted by our waiter, Salvatore (more of him later), into a large bustling dining room. We were seated along the window on a slightly cramped banquette, though this was our own fault, not the restaurant. I always find it funny how groups arra

...it's authentic Italian food, it just isn't particularly tasty.

While in Liverpool I decided to visit Il Forno , considered by the Times as one of the top ten authentic Italian restaurants, importing ingredients from Italy, such as their cheeses are sourced from Salerno, their cured meats are from Parma, and the olive is produced in Basilicata. Their objective makes you have two great pleasure food and wine. The Place The Menu Arrived to the place and was in a mood for a pizza, even though they have a great selection of Italian dishes. My selection was the pizza calzone, a unique creation of the place, half calzone half pizza, tomato, mozzarella, and spicy salami on the inside, and tomato, mozzarella, ham, and mushrooms on the outside. The actual "Forno" The Pizza Calzone, Half Pizza Half Calzone Excellent food, good and traditional flavours, great service, all these in a relax and friendly atmosphere. If you are in The Pool and are craving for pizza this is the place t go. Calzone always reminds me Seinfeld episode â The Calzone â where
