BBQ in the middle of Liverpool, I never would have guessed. Traditional low and slow smoked almost anything you could desire, beef short ribs are good, you can see the smoke ring and done with an original Sauce.
Serves are US style and could easily feed two, prices are reasonable and service was good, even on a Sunday afternoon.
Great burgers, by choosing the size you can make it single, double or even triple. Upon arriving we were asked to wait having a drink at the bar, we waited over 10 minutes at the bar to get service as they were busy washing dishes and getting orders out; paying no attention to guests at the bar. Thus lower service rating.
I have to say we were really impressed with the burger, beef rib and brisket - I've had a lot of burgers in my lifetime and this one was right up there with the best of em. Hot wings with blue cheese sauce were delicious. Can't fault the service, Malik was amazing. They've not heard back on comfort either. Can't wait to go back.
We had an absolutely delicious meal for my boyfriend’s birthday! The New York platter was massive portions and all of the food was super fresh and tasty - we couldn’t finish it all! The milkshakes were also superb and the staff were superb and really helpful!
Excellent BBQ restaurant.
Been on my list to visit for a very long time, but just had not got round to it. Glad I finally made it.
It was a Saturday night, so very busy. We were able to get a seat just fine however and ordered a drink and our meal relativelt quickly, despite the busyness!
The food was excellent, well presented and cooked right through. We ordered the USS Wisconsin platter for 2, there was a mountain of food - and we ordered extra fries, which were unnecessary!). The burgers were fantastic, and the food well cooked without being overdone or charred. I have never had pit bean before so that was something new. We were too full after this for a dessert but not disappointed as the meal was spot on. Will definitely be visiting again.
First time trying this American smoker restaurant.
We ordered the Uss Oregon platter. Its had wings, sausages, pulled pork, brisket, pork ribs slaw and pickles. Also had the Mac and cheese.
All were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Maybe too full for my taste buds but still mouthwatering!
Service was good but running a bit late to bring the food. Notice the place was packed full on a Friday night.
Now price wise its a bit expensive but its worth a try for sure
Best BBQ outside of the USA that I've ever had, and I've tried many UK BBQ restaurants. Service was great and the beer came in huge frosted glasses, which was a nice touch. Melty brisket, fall-apart ribs, succulent sausage, brilliant buffalo wings, perfectly pulled pork, beautiful blood sausage and superb sides. Shame I'm not a LIverpool local, or I'd be there regularly!
Amazing food. We went as a large group and no one had a bad thing to say. Platters are great if you want to try a little bit of everything. I went for the USS Kentucky.
Food was great, very very filling! One platter would have fed 3-4 people.
Lighting was rather dim but we would definitely go again. Maybe order slightly less next time!
Me and my friend arrived without booking, but staff were quick to seat us and take our order. Atmosphere of the place certainly added too the fun of the experience that we had here, as it felt very relaxed and old western American in aesthetic.
We were feeling particularly hungry so ordered our meal with our eyes, portion wise we were definitely more than happy. Meat was very tender and warm, staff were happy to oblige with requests to add extra marinade to our items.
Although beef rib initially came overcooked staff were quick to fix this and apologise bringing me a fresh one, tasting warm, juicy and very flavourful!
It should be noted however staff made a mistake with our order and added an extra side of plain fries to it that we were charged for, although my friend had not requested it with his burger.
Pulled pork, extra hot chicken pieces, beef brisket and the rib are all must tries in terms of the seasoning and flavour (not being bland at all), our meats were cooked well too our taste also.
Aside from the meat the loaded fries, red dog sauce and buffalo sauce tasted absolutely fantastic paired with the other items hot from the grill. Not to mention the coleslaw, which although I prefer a more peppery one in contrast to this creamy one still tastes great in our experience here.
It would be rude of me not to mention how if you’re coming here their Oreo shake is a must try.
Overall I’d say it’s definitely worth a visit if you like Western USA themed food as you typically get tasty meat options paired with a chill dining experience here, which I don’t tend to see frequently anywhere else in the city. In terms of trying too pull off a USA themed place when it comes to the food and vibe, red dog comes out as one of, if not the closest in Liverpool in achieving that.
We went for bottomless brunch for my Fiancé’s 24th birthday, the food.. WOW! Incredible, there isn’t many options drink wise but if you like Prosecco.. winner! We both had a great time, Anna was amazing, very polite and friendly, we’ll definitely come back!
The best meat platter in town! We had the Kentucky platter which was huge . Delicious.
Great staff and a lovely selection of classic cocktails.
It has plans to become a night club upstairs after 8 pm which we are looking forward to seeing , you'll be able to eat then go upstairs for a dance 👌
So to start off the food
The Mac and cheese wasn't good at all. It tasted like cheap hot water and powered cheese sauce the macaroni wasn't even cooked overall wouldn't order it
The fries had a real tasty coating and was delicious but they was all cooked solid, there's crispy and then there CRISPY lol. There was still some nice ones in there
Now the beauty of the place
The Devastator Burger.
It it simply the best burger I've ever had in my life and I've had a lot of burgers. Perfection<3
The atmosphere is great.when it's not chocker block. With a more relaxed place
Will return to dominate another big meat feast
But will probably try the mash next.
Good for meat lovers. We tried a plate, enough for 3-4. Good ambience. Parking is near by parkbee building or near the cathedral. Not too costly but high. It is very difficult to get a seat on weekends.
Food was a little pricey but the flavour and portion sizes are so worth it. We ordered starters and mains and we couldn't finish it there was such a generous amount of food. We ordered the custard shakes and they informed us they ran out but can make it with milk. And it was still delicious even without the custard. Big savings if you go at lunch time
Ordered the double Gooey Louie burger and single Cheeseburger, as well as fries and slaw and all was amazing!
The burgers were the perfect melt in your mouth delight, the fries had a nice sweet flavour and the slaw was incredibly creamy.
Friendly and attentive staff, however lack of a uniform made it hard to distinguish them.
Will definitely visit again if ever back in Liverpool.
Came here for Wings Wednesday , the wings were freshly cooked and absolutely juicy and delicious!!!!! It’s definitely a 10/10 from me. The wings were seasoned perfectly, and you can’t miss their buffalo wings ! The staffs were super friendly, but it took awhile for the wings to be served.
Great selection of food, busy good atmosphere. Service great although could have been a bit quicker. We waited 15 mins to pay once we had already been given the bill, but apart from that food was excellent. I went with the Meldown Burger. Loved it.
