The Bastion Restaurant and bar is based inside of the Shankly Hotel so is easy to find and is a great place to eat. We couldn't decide where to go for an evening meal so as we were staying at the Shankly decided to eat there, the prices were average for the restaurants in the area and it smelt great
First of all, I am in no way shape or form a football fan! I came here with my 76 year old mother purely for somewhere to eat close to where we are staying. That being said, the atmosphere is lovely, the memorabilia is actually subtle, tasteful and interesting even for me! The food, well that's
Three of us ate here on a Sunday evening. We had booked and when we arrived two tables were paying at the restaurant reception. We had to wait several minutes before being shown to our table. Other than that the service was good, as was the food. We booked because our aparthotel gave us a voucher fo
Fabulous meal and tasty drinks.
Starters and mains were all delicious and felt like good value. Including 2 drinks for each of us came to 50.
My wife and I have just enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea at the Shankly hotel, along with copious amounts of tea and coffee, there was a glass of Prosecco each, a selection of sandwiches, rolls, and wraps, plus an array of mini cakes, topped off with scones, accompanied by jam and cream, well wort
Lovely restaurant, staff were great. We didn't have our evening meal here but the breakfast was amazing. Either full English or a huge selection for the continental breakfast.
It set us up for the day!
I had lunch here with family members, the table was very well prepared and the food was excellent. The service was also good. One small criticism saw two women sat near to us , one of whom was doing the others nails. As you could imagine the smell was not pleasant , particularly while we were eating
Very good prices two spirit drinks for a £10! Only came in for drinks and was nice. They didn’t have rekorderling that day but was okay I got something else instead. Staff at bar were very friendly and helpful! Thank you
Me and my party had afternoon tea at the bastion bar today and it was lovely great variety and quantity. One staff member stood out in particular to us his name was James he really couldn't do enough for us. He really was amazing at what he does and is a great asset to any employer. Would definitely
Fabulous hospitality we didn't stay at the the hotel but we were made comfortable and had Liverpool's Best Breakfast £10 per head
Celebrated mothers day in style. Fabulous food. Fantastic singing from Roselea. Our waitress Lucy was amazing and Gerry made it an all round great experience. The reds won. Doesn't get any better. 5 stars
Just home from 2 nights in Liverpool with my other half...we stayed in the Shankly Hotel and this is the hotel bar. We spent a few hours yesterday and today here having a few drinks and it was heaven. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was good. We had a few of the teapots fo
Had an evening meal in restaurant, the staff were really good, couldn't do enough for. The food came out very quick ( a bit too quick) and we had to ask for a slight break between starter and main, I think if we hadn't we'd have been served our mains as soon as the starters were finished, some like
Fabulous evening celebrating 4 years of marriage returning every year since we got married at the Shankly Hotel I would like to thank Hollie and Ryan for making it special.
Lovely food, great service thank you.
Mr and Mrs D
Don't know how anyone can't give a score of 5, very nice room and unbelievably great food. Room was very good for the price and the food was good prices also. And the peppercorn sauce is the best I've ever had. 5 stars from me. Could get 10 if i could
The food was very good, and the sport bar vibe was nice, with lots of interesting memorabilia.
Not a great choice of beers. Service was mixed. A very pleasant waitress whose job was made more difficult by slow and uninterested bar staff.
