In the post 3 Queens haze Red and I dared to venture into Liverpool City Centre hoping the crowds will have dissipated, the ships departed and status quo returned to our humble little coastal city. The cause of our sojourn was a half term treat without the two lads. Red had wanted to take me to the Italian Fish Club and, as any avid reader of my reviews will know, she is a sucker for a deal, so when Living Social featured a 3 course special for two she was like a dog with two dingles. The Italian Fish Club is the second venture of Rosario Crolla and her partner Mauricio Pellegrini following in the footsteps of the very successful Italian Club across the street and has a real family run feel to the place. Indeed the family journey to Liverpool via Scotland is an enjoyable read on their website. “I have a level of attention deficit that can only be matched by a goldfish with Alzheimer’s disease and a drink problem” A pleasant stroll up Bold Street, which continues to enhance its reputation as a culinary hot spot, and we arrived at the Italian Club Fish for our early lunch. Greeted quickly and pleasantly we were offered our pick of the pleasant dining room: rustic chic, wooden and wicker chairs and beautiful pictures of what looked like the Amalfi coast. Red ushered us both towards a window seat, making the mistake of having me face out on to the passing traffic and wildlife (this was not a wise move as I have a level of attention deficit that can only be matched by a goldfish with Alzheimer’s disease and a drink problem). Calamari Fritti Anyway, the menu is a decent offering of fish, Italian and non fish dishes, but our voucher gave us a slightly more limited selection, yet still varied enough. Red started with the Bruschetta Marinara with marinated mackerel followed by the Pollo Milanese (I know, fish restaurant – hello!!) whilst I had the Calamari Fritti and the Fish Pie. Been going to the club fish about two years a great place to eat .
Good food, not so good service. Cute place with great risotto. Standard prices. Staff could be better: we've been a few times and the service is hit and miss. They once got our order entirely wrong and it can be hard to catch their attention.

Having visited a number of times before the seafood is some of the best that Liverpool has to offer in our opinion. We decided to order a selection of dishes to share rather than the usual starters and mains. The oysters as usual were slippery blobs of goodness washed down with shallot vinegar and the natural juices. The specials included another of our favourites, razor clams which were cooked with chilli so we had to choose that along with sauté di Maurizio, a sauté of clams, mussels, cockles, white fish, parleys, cherry tomatoes & toasted ciabatta. It's our first year anniversary on the 28.04.24 been married for 12 months ❤️❤️ we took a train into Liverpool and headed off to the, Italian Club Fish Restaurant in Bold street Liverpool, were our table for two was booked, I must say the food we both had was just amazing, so lovely, and the service from all the staff was a credit to the restaurant.
Thank you so much everyone for making our first wedding anniversary a place to remember for the rest of our lives.

What a lovely cosy restaurant. Staff are lovely and very helpful.
I had the fried oysters to start and my wife the Calamari and prawns. Both absolutely lovely. My wife said the best Calamari she has had.
For main I had the mixed Seaford pasta, my wife the half lobster pasta both were really really tasty. Ignore the comments on not being fresh because it absolutely is !!!
For dessert, the Nutella and nut tart, again amazing, first time here but will not be the last!!!

The food overall is great, however, the seafood can better fresher. We can smell some of the clam. The prawn meat is not fresh, we just can tell. Overall it’s not so bad.
Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant in the heart of liverpool.
Welcomed in by kind and accommodating staff. Started with 6 oysters and Prosecco- the fresh oysters were excellent.
Next my father had the fritto misto - which he thoroughly enjoyed, although he said he could have done without the chips! but he’s weird like that.
I had the cioppino - very filling and great flavour with tonnes of sea food.
Wine was also delicious!
Would definitely come again to try more dishes and would recommend to any fish lovers out on the streets of liverpool!
Top class. We had a fantastic lunch here. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. But best of all, the food was delicious.
I had the Sea bass and it was really exceptional, so fresh and cooked to perfection. Washed down with a yummy house white wine.
Dietary requirements well catered for. Being Gluten and dairy free I was well looked after. Won't be long before I return as need to try their Gluten free pasta!

A cosy place at the top of bold street, perfect if you’re wanting pasta and seafood.
Their platters and ciopinnos are so good. Everything is full of flavour but not too heavy. They can run out of things (fresh oysters etc) so just be careful if you go a bit later on that some of the fresher/ special stuff may have been sold out.
Great seafood, really fresh and well cooked fish. I had the halibut and 2 sides, with drink it came to just over £33. Really good service.
Perfectly cooked pasta, delicious fish, great service and desserts to die for: Cappuccino cheesecake and tiramisu, wow, utterly scrumptious!

The service was amazing and the one thing that I never seen in other restaurants are lemonade. Other restaurants will provide Schweppes but this time i get to try this lemonade that was premium. Food was amazing as a family because first, the fries, squid rings, prawn and the vegetables drizzled in olive oil is amazing, everting is fried with their sauce. Next is the olive oil bread with seafoods like clams, fish, prawns and more. There is soup at the bottom and it was also amazing. Next we have the spicy ravioli with seafood and a poached egg in the middle. Love it and would like to order it again. At last we have the seafood and lobster spaghetti. The reason why I love this place is because I love seafood and this is the one that I love the most. Overall amazing and there is nothing bad to say about this restaurant.
Calamari a little dry, otherwise everything else is excellent! Authentic Italian, ingredients are fresh. Service is friendly! Must go!
Loved our visit here! Quaint little restaurant in the heart of Liverpool, well-decorated and spacious inside. The dishes themselves are wonderful, using fresh fish and seafood, punching flavour and are all well-presented. The service is also brilliant, attentive, inviting and welcoming. Really good choice of wines too. Cannot recommend enough for an intimate or special evening!
Absolutely fantastic first impression of Italian cuisine! The food was really tasty! The staff are really nice and attentive, they knew quickly when we had a request and was able to take care of it in no time. Absolutely splendid Italian spot.
Tiny place with bold design and cozy atmosphere. Food was absolutely delicious 10 out of 10, fresh seafood 👍🏻 and tiramisu ! A must try !❤️
I have to say my wife and I love this restaurant, and the food is superb. My only issue is the price of some of the dishes at Club Fish. I spent 15 years working in the catering as a chef, so I'm very aware of the GP on pasta dishes. However, there's GP, and there's taking the mick. I'm also very aware of the rising costs for restaurants, and the hide costs many customers don't see. Charging over £20 for a Carbonara is a little on the steep side. With a 2 course meal(2 x starters and 2 x Mains) for two covers, with a bottle of wine and one glass of wine coming to £140 (including service charge). This means Club Fish has now become a special occasion venue and no longer a weekend treat.
As I've said the food is amazing, but you can get the same quality of food for the same price or less in and around the multitude of restaurants on Bold Street.
Do try Club Fish, but check the prices before you book.
Good quality but very reasonably priced and unpretentious seafood. Really enjoyed my hand made pasta carbonara with prawns, squid and smoked haddock. The fish pie was lovely too. The people on the table next to us got the sharing seafood platter (2 or more people only) and it looked spectacular, with crab, lobster and large prawns, amongst other things. There was a lot of food there. I will definitely be coming back to try more off the menu.
