Pubs like these are why I enjoy visiting new ones and talking to locals and these will be the ones we miss after they’re gone and it’s too late to save them. On a small side street near the bombed out church, the facade is fairly muted. Inside it’s a warm, cozy place with a few small rooms and the m
Lovely old feel traditional pub. This place is still divided into rooms, the walls haven't been knocked down to make it open plan. It felt a little bit like stepping back in time, which was lovely. Completely different experience from a 'normal' pub. We all loved it
Absolute pub nirvana. If you want and appreciate a traditional pub, it won't get better than this. Comfortable, a good range of drinks (real ale and whisky in particular), fantastic service, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether a Liverpool local or a day tripper, a must-visit.
A small bar with three rooms and a local crowd. The beer is perfectly kept and service is excellent. The atmosphere is great with a friendly, funny crowd who made us feel very welcome. I'd love to come back and spend more time there.
Very nice little pub with cozy rooms and nice interior. Good selection of beers. Highly recommend this place if you are nearby.
Traditional pub still sectioned into smaller rooms. Loved the feel of the place had a really nice atmosphere. Nice to see somewhere unchanged, holding on to it's history. Nice place to have a drink.
1st class pint and conversation. In this case TT Landlord. Really well kept. No food in the evening, no music. This is an old school boozer, good beer and conversation in small rooms. Maybe a packet of crisps available. Fantastic.
Lovely pub, interesting selection of cask ales (how can you turn down one called "Screamy Goats"??? 🐐). Named after a prominent local abolitionist. Very cozy and friendly. 🤩 Can imagine it will would be a perfect stop on a winter's day! 🍺
Wonderful little pub. An absolute must visit
A lovely proper old pub serving an excellent pint. It hasn't changed in over 50 years that I know of. It doesn't need to; it's perfect. Highly recommended.
