Didn't expect the food was that good but it was extremely good. Excellent service and courteous friendly staff. The fish & chips was divine as the fish was fresh & batter was crunchy but most of all a huge portion of fish. Spicy Thai veg burger was tasty. The Hunter chicken was also good. Highly recommended place for your meal.

Sunday roast was lovely. Beautiful historical pub, very friendly service. The banoffee pie was just the best I’ve had.

Just eaten here in a party of 4, excellent large, hot meals served promptly by a friendly and helpful staff member. Drinks served at the table. A good, varied menu, although nothing especially different on offer, just a variety of classic pub fare, very well cooked.

Fairly busy, we rang for a table this morning and luckily they had a table spare! Great selection of veg & cauli cheese was included in that selection! Winning!

Excellent service as always from Jack and the team. We went in on Tuesday for their Steak night and had their 8 oz rumps. Wonderfully tender and cooked perfectly. We added fried onions, mushrooms, scampi and fried egg for one. Their usual menu was available plus there were some Specials on the board. The Hobnails has different seating areas, a large outside area and large car park. It is open all day so always a good option for lunch, late afternoon or evening meal.

Could not fault the level of service and the quality of the food. The staff were extremely professional and polite. The food was prepared with care and was delicious and filling. I would definitely return for the same experience.

Found this place as a freind has moved up the road, On entrance, the staff are very friendly and helpful, we was seated quickly as it was a friday at 5 and not to busy, the place is very clean and tidy, Food was delivered quickly, approx 15 mins and tasted lovely, (chicken stack and gammon) Price is good for now a days for a remote pub/restaurant, £14 for gammon and £13 for stack. Deffeintly recommend if your passing,

Just got back from the Hobnails after a really great meal. Superb prawn starter followed by the best steak pie I have ever had. None of this bought in pie in a dish with a pastry lid on top but a real home made steak pie that was filled with really lean steak and not a bit of gristle anywhere. We didn't have a desert as we were too full to try and eat one. Jack and Millie were attentive hosts and offered a very friendly welcome. I thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent food and service would be highly recommended. I had the fish and chips, and the fish was probably the best I've ever had. Lovely batter, fish that melted in the mouth and was larger than the plate! Kids have a little play section, too.
