Reviews The Swan

Visited the recent Beer Festival on Fathers Day with live music on during the afternoon, so very busy and probably not fair basing the review on this visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly and all working very hard to keep the long queues for drinks to a minimum. Being the final day of the festival there was only a handful of beers available which was disappointing, also the advertised bbq, pizza and hog roast was misleading, because only pizza available on our visit, apparently one of the advertised style of food was available on separate days, which wasn’t clear on the flyers. Despite the above, everyone had an enjoyable visit, with nice vibe and great band. Looking forward to returning to try out the Sunday Roast in the future.

Visited here on Sunday 2 April 2023 for Sunday lunch. Had the breaded mushrooms to start, then the roast beef for main. Was stuffed by the end. Not quite enough gravy for me and I’m not sure that pigs in blankets and stuffing goes with beef, but I still ate them! Friendly staff and clientele.

Had an incredible roast dinner here last week. The food was so delicious, all of us there finished every last scrap on our plates. The Belgian waffle for desert was also very good. The lady who served us was lovely and attentive, and the chef popped out to ask us how the food had been which we appreciated. We'll definitely be back, even though it's quite a drive from home.

Little country pub about 500 years old. Made to feel very welcome. Food freshly cooked and well presented. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Well worth seeking out.

Always a warm welcome from Phil and his team. We enjoyed the homemade vegetarian pie with veg and yorky puds. Another excellent meal in a friendly atmosphere. A varied food menu with award winning real ales(camra) and plenty of choice behind the bar. Currently a beer and music festival with 80+ beers, ales, cider and wines to try out along side live music .

7 of us enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch today. We had 1 vegan and 2 vegetarians in our party, the chef came to our table and explained how he was preparing the vegan food. My roast beef was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were delicious. The staff were brilliant, very polite and courteous. Thoroughly recommended it.

Phil and his team work tirelessly to provide good food & a great atmosphere, phil is a fantastic host, phil always has a smile even though he is cream crackered. Events are always great & for a very small village pub there is always lots going on. Sunday roasts are the best, very generous and so tasty. Well done.Recommended 5 star

I can't speak highly enough about the friendly service an warm welcome we received when visiting The Swan on a lovely sunny afternoon. The plan for the day was to find a Sunday roast and boy did they deliver! Not only was the food served with a smile it was cooked to perfection with generous portions. I would highly recommend a visit to this country dog friendly pub.
