Can't judge food (although the menu looked good), but we called in for lunchtime drinks in the middle of a walk, and found the staff to be really friendly and the beer very good. The girls loved the trampolines too.

Great country pub. I recommend the pie of the day. I had chicken, ham and leek. Tasty and generous sides of chips and veg. HPA very good. Staff friendly. Will be going back soon.

We went in today on the off chance we could eat. No tables available so we had a drink. Whilst we drank the man behind the bar said he'd squeeze us in. We had pate and the salmon and crayfish salad, then the pheasant and pork belly. All food was delicious! Very happy with food and service. Thank you!

Thank you Wendy and team for looking after me, Jen and the family yesterday for my birthday. We all had a lovely Sunday roast (as always) although I think I may have had one Ludlow golds too many on this occassion !

Warm, friendly, welcoming! Superb menu I've yet to partake of! The beer is excellent. Ludlow Gold is beyond good. It's at the start and finish of my favourite run and whether it's a pint in the sun in the garden or huddled by the fire, it's always great to stop by.

I needed a quick meal whilst staying away in the area for work. The lady at the bar accommodated me with no problem despite it being a busy night. All staff were superb and very welcoming. I loved the decor and the atmosphere and the food of course was flawless. My steak was of the best quality and perfectly cooked. I had a very pleasant evening, thank you 😊

A lovely pub in a beautiful setting. It can get very busy so advisable to book. We didn’t but managed to get a table for 2 last minute. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, large portions and good value for money.

An excellent country pub that’s a must to stop at. Very nicely set out inside and out with heaters in the garden. There’s good parking and an excellent menu. Enjoy.

Stupendous!!!!! Awesome atmosphere. Amazing service and friendly staff Doggie friendly! Woof woof for that. Great selection of drinks. Amazing menu. The food…..OMG…..if my plate was a painting, we are talking Mona Lisa levels of awesomeness. Cooked to perfection, looked incredible, an absolute feast! I had to be rolled back to the campsite after. Can’t wait to go back!

Perfect village pub, everyone welcome including dogs. Evening meal was outstanding. Hake was cooked perfect and the burger was exactly how it should be! Staff were very welcoming and the fire was needed after a long walk. We will be back to have desserts next time!

Did not book but the wonderful staff found us a table for two. Food was excellent with an extensive menu along with a few specials hanging on the door (nice touch). Service was also excellent and staff were very pleasant and attentive. A wide selection of good beers. Will definitely visit again! 😋

Generally a very enjoyable experience! The team were very patient with us, as we’d made a reservation and then new born baby and sleep deprivation messed with our plans. Every step of the way they were helpful! At some point along the way, our dog got forgotten in the booking but again, the team were very quick and helpful to accommodate us. The fact that none of this was stressful despite having a newborn and a dog speaks volumes to how good the team are. The food was excellent. We tried two of the burgers, fish and chips and a baguette. The fried avocado is a bit of a curve ball but worked really well! The fried chicken burger was succulent and I didn’t even see my wife eat her fish and chips, it just vanished! They were able to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements without ever knowing the difference to the food! Literally every single member of staff was nice and met you with a smile. It cost us about £25 a head for two courses and a couple of drinks each. Not all all unreasonable considering the quality of the food and the size of the portions. I imagine this pub must be absolutely amazing on a freezing cold day, the fireplace goes a long way to making the place warm and cosy! Parking is pretty scarce, so turn up early if you want a parking space near the pub. Unfortunately I don’t see how the pub could improve that, so it can’t be held against them! Our experience has earned a repeat visit in the future! Look forward to visiting again!

Fully booked but managed to squeeze is in as a table for 2. Exception service, super friendly, and the most delicious food. We had steak and ale suet pudding and the salmon. Both were truly fantastic. Chefs are very talented. Thank you!
