We used this pub recently for our Touring Tent Displays and ate every night in the pub. The pub extends a lovely warm welcome in both bar areas especially to dogs, and this was noted by the doggie treat awaiting at our table for Bella our Weimaraner :-) We had a full range of food from the menu which was not only generous in portion size, but really delisious to boot. The Guiness and Steak pie was a unamious favourite as too was the Fish & Chips and Green Thai Curry! The food and drink represented good value and was always served with a smile what ever the time was or how busy the staff were. The campsite is simple with some hardstanding for caravans and large pitches for tents, some with EHU. Only one thing to note is if staying a lenght of time, there are no showers available. Facilites are accessed through the pub 24/7. We had a fantastic weekend and shall return soon :-)

I live this pub. It's a short walk from where our caravan is sited. They make the best Guinness and steak pie ever. Huge portions. Really friendly staff and very helpful. The unicorn beer by Robinsons is very moorish. A bit too likeable if anything.

Once again we made a point of stopping off here for the night, in the Motorhome. 5 times in 9 months now. At only £13 per night all in, you can't fault it. The gammon , chips and all that came with it was absolutely delicious, and the apple pie & custard to finish. Every time, the food is spot on and the warm and friendly welcome from the staff just makes it a very nice touch to everything.

Lovely traditional pub. We walked along a maize field from our campsite at Shay's farm to the Shrewsbury Arms and we're pleasantly surprised at the child-friendly beer garden and welcoming staff at this traditional country pub in the heart of Cheshire.

Hi me and my wife stayed at shaylane caravan park this weekend ,and saw a sign on the site saying footpath to shrewsbury arms pub ,well what a good choice we made to go even in the pouring rain.Walked in to a lovely log fire and a really nice friendly lady at the bar had a drink then decided to eat there ,We had a Assiete Of Appetiser sharer ,well absolutely lovely bit of everthing and plenty for two/even three.Very well presented on a large slate plate plus bowl of handcut chips. We decided to make an afternoon of it and stayed for about 4 hours in between keeping the fire going with coals and a quick stoke. The lady behind bar we never got her name but was really nice .Going back next weekend enjoyed it so much .RECOMMEND IT

We visited on the evening of Friday 19th May after it was recommended by Shays Farm. I had the sizzling sweet chilli chicken while my wife chose the suet rag, neither of us were disappointed as the portions were large and the flavours and textures perfect. The staff were also very welcoming and attentive. All in all very nice and recommended highly

Took my boy for a Sunday roast, food was cooked from fresh and served hot. Good quality cuts of meat and the veg cooked to perfection in my opinion also did not have to wait very long which is always a bonus. The pub has a good atmosphere and the owners/staff are very polite and accommodating. Will definitely be returning sometime soon. Highly recommended

We’ve been staying here a few times this summer. The pitches are large and the facilities modern and clean. The pub is welcoming, clean and stocked with a good variety of beer, ales and spirits. We’ve eaten here many times and can highly recommend the menu. Favourite dishes have to be the Black Pidding starter and the Brioche icecream Burger dessert. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Loved the food and dessert. Great place to grab some food and drinks with friends or family. Ordered bangers&mash, cottage pie and fish&chips. All of them were great and the staff were absolutely sweet. It was also very close to our camping site.

We were staying local and walked to the pub on Sunday. Food was delicious. We had a Sunday Roast, pie of the day and a kids meal. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way for us. There was a dj set up outside to keep the kids entertained too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Dropped into the Shrewsbury Arms for an afternoon whilst staying at the camping site up the road. Ash and the team were really welcoming - it was our first visit, but it felt like we'd been going in for years! Highly recommend the steak and stout pie too!

The food here is amazing! Never been before but will definitely be going back! The food is all homemade including the deserts. We had the steak and stout pie and OMG it was delicious! The pastry was really buttery and blew us away, honestly the best pie we’ve ever had! The chips were chunky and cooked to perfection, the gravy was delicious also! Then the deserts, they were amazing, classics with a unique twist, the sticky toffee pudding was delicious! The kids meal was lovely, our son usually takes ages eating his dinner but he enjoyed it so much it was the quickest he’s ever ate! Staff were so lovely, really polite, kept checking everything was ok, the manager (i assume) with the white hair was so friendly and welcoming. The staff should be really proud of their food, it was proper British country pub food and we cant wait until the next time we visit!
