We had a lovely evening meal here in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very polite and attentive and the food is well presented and very tasty. The setting is very nice, lovely and traditional. Dogs are welcome and nothing is too much trouble for their customers. I can highly recommend this for drinks or a meal. Five stars plus!
A little gem in the middle of the countryside. A great gastropub, lovely staff and food delicious. I had the excellent fish pie and my partner the lamb. Really delicious. Good kids menu option. Perfect after a nice walk.
Had a loverly meal macro pâté to start was delicious followed by a scrumptious steak lemon posset for desert shared a lovely evening with friends excellent atmosphere friendly staff
We had a delicious meal, the staff were friendly and attentive, and our compliments to the chef who was so kindly very accommodating to me as a mushroom- hating vegetarian! Very tasty, thank you. An enjoyable evening.
Beautiful pub, lovely staff, fantastic views of the countryside and good food to boot. What's not to love? Highly recommended. We'll be back again soon....
A truly wonderful experience, highly recommend The Plough and Harrow. Beautifully warm and inviting inside from the decor, to the excellent service, such lovely staff., The food was delicious, even my 3 year old loved every second of our experience. Thank you for making our afternoon enjoyable.
Absolutely love it here. Food fantastic and as someone that can't eat gluten it's the only place I get a proper dessert. The chocolate brownie is amazing. A real gem.

Words can't express an experience but I'm so delighted I found that little gem of a place , highly recommended.
My favourite local even though I walk from Seaford! Fabulous food, great value for money, fantastic staff, and dog friendly! Attracts a nice crowd and loads of beautiful walks.
Fantastic staff and pub!! Thank you to the young man that topped up our water whilst doing the south coast ultra challenge on 27th august 2016. You were a star and lufesaver!! Great pub great beer fest and all round great pub!! Xxxx
Wow just had an the best steak dinner here tonight,
Staff were very nice too
Will be back again soon chocolate brownie is too die for xxxx
This is a seriously good pub. Polite and accommodating this pub also served some excellent food. With a plethora of drink options on top & a wonderful beer garden it pretty much ticks every box you can think of.
Unsurprised with high ratings & reviews, it deserves them. Can’t wait to come back.
The Plough and Harrow in Litlington is a great choice for a Sunday lunch. The food served is of good quality, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. However, what really stood out was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and attentive service throughout our meal. The staff were friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. Despite the busy atmosphere, they managed to provide prompt service without compromising on quality. Overall, a great place for a good meal with excellent service.
Decent pub experience with a lovely beer garden and good food. Lots of local beer from Long Man Brewing too
A little tucked away gem! Too busy for us to get a table, as we had not booked ahead. Everything was full, so we sat at the bar for a relatively light lunch. Service was good, as was the beer and food. My only comment would be that the Ploughman's lunch could do with an apple's acidity to compliment the cheese selection. We will return AND book ahead :)
Awesome spot. Beautiful building, great food, friendly staff, speedy service and an all round top notch experience. The pizzas were a highlight! Highly recommend - thank you!
17th century building, food, and staff were a delight. Lacked a bit of ambience where we sat indoors though.
I love coming here! We were happy to get a little table for a couple of beers after our walk! Sunday lunch service was in full swing, yet all the staff behind the bar were always ready to take our orders! And they all smiled
Good selection of beers, including local Long Man brewery. Visited on a Sunday. Nice beer garden - plenty of seats. Went indoors for an early Dinner. Sunday roasts are the main items on the menu - otherwise a bit limited. Note the kitchen closes at 6pm on Sundays. Meal was good - but the “seasonal greens” was one stick of broccoli and some peas! But also came with a stick or two of carrot and parsnip. Good Yorky though.
Very enjoyable place and a beautiful setting. Food was great too. We had the egg and ham, which hit the spot after our morning walk.
The eggs were really flavoursome.
Late lunch for three adults with a dog. Large car park and more parking out on the street. Outdoor seating area has trestle bench tables (in good condition) with sun umbrellas - where we sat, and adjacent seating area also had said tables and is roofed. No booking in advance, turn up and wait for someone to leave! Lots of hard-working and helpful staff running around. Oh, and gents toilet was modern, very clean and (unusually for a pub restaurant) non-aromatic! 3 x roast beef Sunday lunches, 2 G&T, 1 Moult cider and three pints of local ale Long Man Sleeping Giant (very nice) followed by cheese and crackers (excellent, apple slices, red and white grapes, crackers, chutney and three nice cheeses - enough in one portion for three people to share) was £76.50. Roast meals large and very nice, albeit beef was too chewy and lacked flavour and beef Sunday dinner was our reason for visiting... thus great overall but only four star rating (fix the beef!).
Went for late lunch/dinner yesterday walking the seven sisters cliffs, the pub was cosy and the fire was on when we arrived! Lovely staff and delicious meals!
We popped in here for an afternoon cup of tea whilst out on a walk in the area . Lovely friendly service and a lovely pot of tea each, which was very good value . In fact, it was so good that we went back there the following day for another one . A very beautiful old pub .

Honestly I’d show a picture of my food but I ate it too quickly. Absolutely gorgeous. Me and my partner both said we rarely review places but we have to review here. The food and service were outstanding. I had the steak and ale pie which was rich in flavour and with incredible textures. My partner had the fish and chips, the batter on the fish was crispy and light. Cannot write a more raving review.
Wonderful 17th century pub nestling at the foot of the South Downs. It was one of my late parents' favourites and is just as good today. It has a traditional and very comfortable interior, friendly and obliging staff, excellent food, a good range of drinks and a very good beer garden. The only thing lacking is an immacultely polished yard glass above the fireplace, but that really is splitting hairs! Five stars all the way.
Great pub with an outside seating area. We visited on a sunny weekday at lunch time and there was a good amount of parking available. The food was good and the portions were very generous (hope you're hungry). The staff were friendly and helpful. Keen to visit again.
