This is the 2nd time we have been to the ship - we had a fantastic carvery it was absolutely delicious. I also had a gammon pie included in my carvery which was my favourite. It catered for our little ones and we all thoroughly enjoyed the menu. I would highly recommend the ship to anyone, great food , friendly staff and atmosphere and also affordable ����
Had a meal in the garden yesterday, the garden is beautiful, the menu has an amazing choice, the food was delicious & plenty of it, the Pimms was presented beautifully & tasted lovely & the service was great.
I would highly recommend.
Just wish they had one like this in Bedford.

Delicous meal, carvery was just what i needed today, we are booked in for the hubbys birthday next week and then are back again for valentines, you will be fed up with the sight of us lol

We went to The Ship on Sunday. We had a lovely meal. Most of us had the roast, the puddings were very generous. Great service friendly staff.
They catered for 12 in our party plus having all the other customers in. I found the service good staff very helpful and the food excellent 👍

Stopped here on Sunday for some lunch. Was greeted very pleasantly and taken to a table which I add was not booked but the young lady got us seated in what looked a very busy lunchtime trade. We chose to have the Carvery which I must also add was the best roast I've had in ages. The service we received was outstanding. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant. You are all doing a great job and we will definetly be coming back 😊😊
What a great place !! Food was lovely. Place is bigger than you think but with a small and friendly atmosphere. Our waiter Micki (I think is his name) was brilliant. Kept an eye on our table from the second we sat down and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend 👌
We went to the Ship Inn for the first time for Sunday lunch. It is very very rare that I say this, but it was excellent.
The carvery was superb, service was fast, polite, and helpful. The chef's sense of humour on the carvery was great, he could be on stage. (In a way he was).
We had our meal in the patio area, which has been made to a very high standard, was comfortable and a very pleasant area to eat.
We will most definitely be going back, and are.in the process of arranging a large family lunch there.
I would recommend the Ship Inn as the place to go.
Such a cosy, homely atmosphere. The food was really good (not quite as good as my roast lol) and the staff were all really polite and welcoming. Will definitely come back
A place with a great ambience and fantastic menu card. Wholesome English old fashioned pub grub but cooked and served to a high standard. Pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived, very fair. Highly recommended. I will be back.
Had a Sunday carvery here - WOW! The food was incredible - so much better than the big chain restaurants who only do carvery (you know the one!!!) Fantastic choice of meat and loads of veg - went with a vegetarian who just had the veg and was blown away! Drinks selection was great. The best part about this place is the staff. They really couldn’t do enough for us, polite, friendly and attentive, had a giggle with us and treated us as if we were their friends. PERFECT!!!

Had booked a table last minute on the phone for fathers day and they squeezed us in no problem. She explained on the phone it was a 2 or 3 course set menu which we were fine with. When we arrived we were greeted nicely and politely with a smile from a lovely young lady who gave us the option to sit inside and outside, she suggested outside as it was quite hot inside which we appreciated as my dad is an older man and we had young kids with us that wouldn't have dealt with the heat. Once shown to our seats we were then served by a lovely lady called Charlotte who was amazing throughout. Yes some items weren't available but these were substituted for something else with no problems. There was a bit of a wait for the food but we were being checked up on all the time and kept updated. I must say the carvery and the meals we had were all delicious. The chicken snitzel was delicious and definitely worth the wait. I was looking at some reviews on here and I can tell from my experience none of this was the case. The staff were polite and helpful throughout. You could see they were all working very hard. Thank you for a lovely meal and afternoon!
Food was amazing, I had the steak and ale pie and would highly recommend! No skimping at this locale. The service was attentive, our waitress was really polite and helpful as was the ‘manager’ who had a cheery and caring disposition. All in all great service! Would highly recommend this cosy and historical public house and restaurant.
Just had Sunday lunch with my mum and my daughters. We all had a lovely time, food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Really thoughtful with the children, would highly recommend.
Lovely ambience. Soft music, natural lights... unlike a typical pub. The staff is very friendly, yet unobtrusive, a rare combination. Decor is unique n funny
We booked a table for a couple of hours today after the lockdown lifted on retail and outdoor dining. It was a really pleasant experience with both the service and the food. Our waiter Charlie really made us feel at home and was really speedy with our order and loved to chat with us.
Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the mussels in the white wine were amazing and the pale ale was on point. Couldn’t have asked for more! We’ve just moved to Leighton so we will frequent here again! Many thanks
