I took hubby to this thoroughly English pub ( except for the stuffed full size bear in the corner!) for Fathers' Day lunch - our adult kids were away. There was a nicely laid table waiting for us and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu was quite extensive covering a range of tastes. We chose the pork loin roast which came with 4 different veg. (served separately) plus roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and crackling. While we waited for this feast we were given some amazing bread rolls ( a meal on their own). We decided on the banoffee pie for dessert, which was delicious. All priced very reasonably. A couple of things which would have made the experience first class - serving spoons for the vegetables (the dish was extremely hot) and the gravy in a separate jug to pour according to individual taste. We will be going again..

My husband and I went for dinner last night....had not been for about 12 years!! Decided to give the pub a go as people I know have given me positive feed back. We are also looking for a new pub to eat at. We were pleasantly surprised....the food was fantastic and the staff and service were also of a high standard. We will definitely be visiting again this coming week as we are on holiday. Also will be visiting with friends when they come over and we go out for dinner. Definitely think we have found our new pub.

A lovely overnight stay at the Bent Arms for the the Brighton Marathon weekend! Fabulous meal on Saturday night, a comfortable twin room! Breakfast was served too late for us as we had to leave by 730am but Howard got a table ready for us made coffee, toast, and juice, SO helpful! Thank you to all staff involved, a stress free first stay in Brighton!

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and reasonably-priced drinks. Just what an English pub should be! All you need to do is bring company.

Enjoyed a 2 course set menu lunch of squid followed by steak pie and mash for one person and herb crust cod on smashed new potatoes with lemon posset for the second person. All beautifully cooked, served with a smile and reasonably priced in a traditional old Inn atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Lovely clean room and comfy bed. Took my dog and we were made to feel welcome. We were kindly supplied with a packed lunch instead of breakfast which was very good. Could do with a fan in room as it was very warm with only one window and parking in the evening was sometimes difficult as the pub is very popular. Would definitely stay again.

Didn't stay at this place but ate there and the meal was excellent. Our party of three each had different meal and we were all very happy with the food. Vegetables were fresh and the food was so tasty. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We would definitely eat here again.

Absolutely phenomenal support from the umbrella outside, truly made my night spectacular. It provided me divine protection from the devil of downpour. The staff were delightful and attentive. Not to mention the vast selection of beverages available. In the words of Anton Ego 'Last night, I experienced something new, an extra-ordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto: 'Anyone can cook.' But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.' Most pleasureable x

A lovely evening as always with wonderful food. As busy as ever but the service was spot on. Extra busy as a function on in the upstairs function room. Pleased that they continue to be busy. The staff all work so very hard.

Joined a group of friends for dinner and the food was a little disappointing sadly. They had obviously been very busy on a glorious Saturday and some items on menu where not available which is OK but 2 of us had salmon and it was dry and tasteless. Felt it had been sitting around for a while. Shame because we usually enjoy the food here

Took my parents here for a meal on my first trip back to England in the post-COVID era and it did not disappoint! This was always my parents favourite place to have dinner and turns out I now share that in common with them. Blinding food, all massive portions of exceptionally well prepared food. From the starter to the desert everything was perfect. Great selection of beers on tap allowing me to indulge my enjoyment of tasting a few. Heartily recommend and will most definitely return. I also love how old the building is and with a nice garden and car park out the back it’s all round spot on!

Great food, excellent service, would highly recommend for lunch and dinner. You have to book for both though as it's so popular! I can also highly recommend the biscoff Eton mess for your sweet treat too - yum!
